I really enjoyed this video. I actually stumbled upon you via your Tom Ford brush review. I am crazy crazy for brushes. I appreciate that you feature so many MAC brushes. I think that is one of the things MAC does the best are the brushes. My favorite is the 252 and the 226. I have one of the original 252 manufactured in Paris.
the elf pencil (professional "contour brush") hasn't lost it shape for me, I've had it for 2 months or so, use it every time I do my make up. OH! and i just happen to have a mac 239 in my brush kit, got it randomly from my aunt..I feel kinda special. lol ^_^
How do you rate the MAC brushes in the holiday gift sets? I've read the quality is not the same as the individual brushes. But I would like to know if the gift set brushes are a "good"enough quality for a novice? Especially compared to say, for example Sonja Kushuk (a chain store brand) brushes?
love these comments; i do my own makeup and i just close my eyes and pick one not knowing what the heck i am going to do with it; i wing it. Thanks again,
wayne, have you tried the chanel makeup brushes?? ive got the set, and they are a dream. they are so incredibly soft, and work amazingly well. they are some of my favorites, and i have everything from chanel, mac, elf, stila, etc. brushes. id love to hear another opinion on them :) xo
How do you feel about natural v. synthetic. I've always been a big fan of natural hair, which I picked up from my artsy sister. So far the only argument I've heard for synthetics is that they don't shed as often, which is frankly bs. Brushes do as brushes are and they shed. Do you prefer one or the other, and why?
Thank you for including the new permanent 211 for a close-up look! Like! The Nars smudge brush is a beautifully made one. Check out the new Big, Fat, Firm Foundation brush by cocobeau on their website. Finnezze & camiloveskiwi, here on youtube, did nice detailed reviews on this brush. If you've seen the Louise Young LY34, what are you thoughts? Looking forward to seeing your new brush.
Hmm, it might be just me but as someone who's not a make up artist but kind of a make up geek but i really never got the whole brush thing...
i got a huge mac brush set for my last birthday and i tried almost all of them but after a while, i gave them to a friend of mine... eventhough the brushes worked nice, it's just simpler to use 3 to 4 versatile brushes and... your finger.
give me a blending, an eyeliner, and angled and a very random flat brush and i'm happy ^^
i really doubt that any of those people who go around youtube and make snotty remarks without really being provoked by a nasty comment, would act like that in real life, or would you?
and yes, i know that i was kinda snotty myself right now but for now, i've have had it with this kind of low behaviour... if you want to feel superior, go get a kick ass job and be great at it...

You are always gorgeous and so informative !!! I watch your videos every day and your are THE BEST and most honest young man who deals with makeup and beauty !!! You are beautiful !!!!
thanks for your videos, have recently stumbled upon them. I like how you get straight to the point & dont waste first 5mins blabbering on with nonsense like most people do. Have learned so many tips & tricks. Loving the reviews, they help knowing whether its worth forking out the money for new things. Saw Rae Morris demonstrate her brushes at Sydney IMATS recently. They are AWESOME. The foundation brush was amazing & quick. Keep up the great work :)
Can't wait for the review of the Rae Morris brushes... I bought her books after you reviewed them and i think she's great.... i've got a feeling the brushes will be a bit too pricey for me tho :( xxx
I'm really afraid to wear eyeshadow, as I know it takes proper tools and great blending skills. This video, and the blending one have been so helpful! Still practicing...haven't done a trial run in public yet...
really helpful babe which do you prefer 222 or 226? mac ones? what is the difference? am 21, not a make-up artist totally a beginner but I would really love and appreciate your opinion wayne because am deciding which one of these should I get? mac 217 is the other one I would get but am undecided if I should get both the 222 or 226?
Love this review. I definetely agree that great brushes are super important to have but of the lesser expensive brushes/brush sets which ones do you think are the best?
Hey sweetie, since no one else has been able to answer I was wondering is the face and body foundation because it is water base can you use it in an air brush machine? I also wanted to know your take on air brush machines, if you were working on a bride would you prefer airbrush to regular foundation?
I love brushes! I don't mind hearing you talking about brushes again. I really liked your other video on Make Up For Ever brushes because nobody ever talks about those.

I am so excited about the Rae Morris brushes! They look beautiful and you know with her being the power house behind them that they will be well made and practical
Wayne can you do a video of all of the work you've done? Thanks for the video! I saw the Rae Morris video of how her brushes are made and it's quite a process!

$899 Australian Dollar for Rae Morris brushes, I would love to get them, But way too expensive, I guess If I were a makeup artist I would buy them without a doubt. But, anyway they look soooo good
What would you reccomend as the perfect blush brush? I have my eye on the MAC 129. Bearing in mind I have quite pronounced cheekbones and when i smile the apples of my cheeks are quite pronounced, what would you reccomend? Thank youxx
heey..can u pleeease do a video on concealing blue veins around the eye.mine are really bad..i found out that they sell the orange corrector in the mac near me but really unsure about using it n u have mentiond it in a previous vid.ppllleeeeeeeeaase?:...looovvvee uuuuu :D
not sure if its going to be permanent, but my local mac still had a couple 226 brushes in the back just the other day.. so ask your mac artists in the store if they still have because they might!
Hi Wayne! Do you know if the Rae Morris brushes will be sold individually at some point? On the website you can only pre-order the whole set for 899$ :/
Wayne, what cheap makeup brushes do you recommend in the UK? unfortunately don't have much money to spend, so something found at boots or superdrug would be great!
@emermh Ecotools makes a very nice all-over shadow brush. I don't have my packaging anymore, but it was sold by itself, and it's extremely soft and picks up shadow well. It's kind of big, but it comes to a point at the end. I Don't have big eyes at all, and it's works nicely for me. I'm in the US, but it was sold in a drugstore for about 6-7 dollars, so it's economical. They also make a retractable blush brush that's nice and soft and inexpensive.
I also like sponges too : )

@jenGeeJushawshee I'd like to ask you something, hope you don't mind.
Why is it that you feel the need to be condescending to someone who just does not share your opinion on something trivial like make up brushes?
honestly, i don't get why people try to piss off others, is it that it makes you feel superior to someone for a little while?
I really like this channel and i thought it's perfectly fine to share an opinion or idea, as long as it is polite enough...

I like the 224 better than the 222. I don't think the 222 blends color out as well because it's so skinny. To each our own, though. :)

I really hope the rumour about the MAC 226 brush is true, because I'd love for it to be a permanent brush.

Oh, and Inglot 4SS and 6SS are awesome too. Specially 4SS I use it for applying concealer and powder it.

I have a LOT of brushes, I think 239, 217, 210 and 226 are my favorites from MAC. And I love Everyday Minerals and MUFE brushes aswell :)

Wayne, what cheap makeup brushes do you recommend in the UK? unfortunately don't have much money to spend, so something found at boots or superdrug would be great!
emermh 4 months ago
@emermh Ecotools makes a very nice all-over shadow brush. I don't have my packaging anymore, but it was sold by itself, and it's extremely soft and picks up shadow well. It's kind of big, but it comes to a point at the end. I Don't have big eyes at all, and it's works nicely for me. I'm in the US, but it was sold in a drugstore for about 6-7 dollars, so it's economical. They also make a retractable blush brush that's nice and soft and inexpensive.
