people say vxr handle shit, thats bullshit my vxr goes round any bend no probs, much better than my golf turbo ever did, think you all been watching to much top gear. and the sport button can add 40/50 bhp depending on wether you got the remap done through the sport button, if not it just improves throttle responce, and damping and steering become more direct, better contact to the road.
I'm just glad to see that we have cars like this now, I like them all I have a preference to vauxhall , my dads astra vxr nurburgring I love, its all about fun people not who is faster lol :)

Just because the Evo is faster doesn't make the VXR slow,i've driven most the popular hot hatches now, and the VXR is certainly one of the quickest along side the Cupra R and Mazda 3 MPS. The VXR is still a fast hot hatch no matter which way you look at it, 6.2 to 60 and 153mph in a FWD car for under 10k is class beating, just because a car is faster doesn't make the other one slow, just means that particular one is faster.. god so many biased people.

Good god astra vxr's arnt half slow even with 290bhp. If you carnt take an evo on a straight dry road then you have issues. Stage 1 remap on the cupra see's 300bhp and bye bye vxr,evo,sti,type r,st's and thats only stage 1. You just gotta love the k04 turbod 2.0tfsi especially when running Revo 2+ and 360bhp for £2k Vag Power baby!!!

@jayrsuk 6-7 grand lol try 4k and that was on standard turbo!!! 11.6sec 1/4 mile 0-60 in 3.1 and then drive home in luxury all on standard turbo and internals. So clearly theres room for improvment if you so wish but if you go too far then you may aswell have just bought a 911 turbo. Also an evo that can do 10,11 sec 1/4's will be dog shit to drive everyday unlike the TT where you wouldnt even know just driving normaly. Dont underestimate the TT on track there VERY quick and capable in standard!

Stage 2+ requires a map, tbe, intake, high pressure fuel pump thats it nothing else. You dont actually have to add an fmic either people just do to be safe.
A cupra with the above mods is 360bhp peak and easily hold 330 across the rev range and around 350lbs of torque from 3.5k revs. Consistantly do low 13's on the 1/4 mile when vxr's with same mods barely break 14's!

seems like ur revving way past 5,300 rpm which is where the boost drops off need to keep it in the range. if you stage 3 even though the bhp is the sameish but on the road it is a new car. I dont know if its modded evo or standard but I honestly do not have any problem eating them alive with the same exhaust. buy the bigger IC which will help get another map then you should be eating them aswell

@gazmr2 Im well aware bikes are fast but with the amount of twats on the road today that carnt drive for shit i would be in a box within weeks if not days. Ill stick to cars and 0-60 in 5.4 secs although im buying a TTrs(hairdressers car i know) or RS3 if they release it which are good for 0-60 in 3 secs (proven) when modded and i dont care that they cost £40k. At least i know if i end up in a wall ill more than likely walk away without a scratch which would be unlikely on a bike!!!

@jayrsuk Hmm yeah dickead even thought a ttrs did a 0-60 of 3.1 secs and consistantly under the 3.5secs at GTI international the other month on the TIMED drag strip also confimed by the performance box but yeah because a shitbox evo or sti carnt do it then im full of shit...... DICKHEAD

@Robcupra360 hmm evo's are shit sure,theres not many cars out there wat wud beat a tuned evo even standard there shit hot,your looking at around 6-7 grand worth of mods in that ttrs 0-60 is impressive but the quater mile wasnt that good just under 12secs and thats as fast as its gonna get 2litre scoobs & 2litre evos are doin it well under that time, vag luxury sports car more luxury then sport,leave the track for the real PERFORMANCE cars they command more respect,givin most of them are 2litres

@jayrsuk 6-7 grand lol try 4k and that was on standard turbo!!! 11.6sec 1/4 mile 0-60 in 3.1 and then drive home in luxury all on standard turbo and internals. So clearly theres room for improvment if you so wish but if you go too far then you may aswell have just bought a 911 turbo. Also an evo that can do 10,11 sec 1/4's will be dog shit to drive everyday unlike the TT where you wouldnt even know just driving normaly. Dont underestimate the TT on track there VERY quick and capable in standard!

@Robcupra360 not sayin there a crap car i wud love to own a ttrs very nice car and looks the dogs,but im more for my performance cars as i onley drive them at the weekend abit of fun,if i owned a high powered audi,bmw,etc i just dont think i wud get the same enjoyment then i wud get out my 04sti and my RS for that matter,not sayin the audi is shit,r orignal argument was about me chattin shit over the supposed 350bhp vxr and my argument was anything with that much power frew fwd will be useless

@Robcupra360 yer but a stage 2 cupra includes alot of stuf that a stage 2 astra dunt like fmic nd bigger injectors of an s3 cos leaons are shit .. if i had the same mods as a stage 2 cupra i would jus as fast the stage number means nothing its the mods you have done that make the diffrence

@kershaw911 NO YOU WOULDNT do your homwork! A remap takes a cupra to 300bhp thats the same as a stage 3 vxr is it not????
Stage 2+ requires a map, tbe, intake, high pressure fuel pump thats it nothing else. You dont actually have to add an fmic either people just do to be safe.
A cupra with the above mods is 360bhp peak and easily hold 330 across the rev range and around 350lbs of torque from 3.5k revs. Consistantly do low 13's on the 1/4 mile when vxr's with same mods barely break 14's!

seems like ur revving way past 5,300 rpm which is where the boost drops off need to keep it in the range. if you stage 3 even though the bhp is the sameish but on the road it is a new car. I dont know if its modded evo or standard but I honestly do not have any problem eating them alive with the same exhaust. buy the bigger IC which will help get another map then you should be eating them aswell
