  • Cool pedal

  • This sounds middy compared to the tweak fuzz...more crunchy. I think the tweakfuzz sounds actually more modern with a better variety of tones. This pedal almost sounds more seventies to me then the tweak fuzz, which is funny since the tweak fuzz is a fuzz pedal. The harmonics in the tweakfuzz sound a little more rich too.

  • At 7 you become Neil young...

  • should i get this or tweak fuzz

  • Hi andy,

Do you know any pedal that is good for mid boosted distortion?

*80`s rock distortion like the rockman gear.

  • do u think i should get this or the ehx big muff pi

  • @R4ND0MREVIEW5 Better get a Tube King.

  • Hocus Pocus!!!

  • is this good for megadeth, metallica sounds im guessing no if it can can it do it easy not having ot put all gain into it bc i want something thats jsut for heavy, thrash metal

  • i like their pickups!

  • Dude I just started yodeling.

  • nice tubee sound!!!

  • Could the Lavabox do Van halen sounds?

  • Can i get Les Zeppelin and Black Sabbath tones out of this puppy ?

  • It sounds smooth and juicy

  • Nice demo!

  • women tone at 2:26.

    Love it!

  • nice pedal! im looking to buy this pedal as a boost pedal so i can reach those extra gain tones on my t-rex bloody mary distortion pedal, as well as a nice pedal for blues and classic rock tones. would this be a good choice or have you any recomendations,as an alternative?

  • @MeldrethBurwoods Why spend all that money just for use as gain booster? Just get an LPB-1 or similar, to push your TREX. I can see spending good money on a full functioned boutique or vintage distortion pedal, but just a simple volume boost...nah.

  • @RNRDOLL YEAH! I so love my LBP-1, it was €22,50 2nd hand and it is so awesome...

  • Id buy it !

  • do any pedal reviews ever play anythin execpt the same rock tones and blues riffs? what about people lookin for a metal tone???? playin these chords gives u no idea what it will sound like actully playin metal on it!!

  • @KingBison: if you wanna play metal, check out some tests of some pedals, that are designed for playing metal (the t-rex bloody mary for example)^^

You should hear, that pedals like the lava box are not metal pedals^^

  • exactly, thats why alot of people hate on the twin tube mayhem.. its not a MODERN metal pedal... its designed for classic metal tones

  • @KingBison This pedal isn't meant for metal.

  • Hocus fuckin' Pocus! Oh yeah!

  • sorry to tell you holybigbang but line 6 pods suck! they sound thin and transparent. and one of these is about 3 triliion times better

  • AND these still suck

  • A POD is a good way of getting a clean sound on recordings without spending huge amounts of money. For getting a sound you really love, you'll need to combine it with something else

  • @MrTheafterschoolshow The 100$ pod UX-1 emulates more amps and effects than lots of rack effects that cost ten times as much. It does them just as well or better because my laptop is the processor. Dual guitar in, mic in, dual out. It certainly doesn't make my Marshall sound thin, and it fattens and warms the sound of my Crate. I can record with it.------------ How is this growly overdrive pedal a substitute?

  • @SqueegeTech This pedal won't crash or hang during a gig like a laptop might? If you just sit in your room recording stuff for youtube a laptop is fine, but if you gig you need to take at least 2 laptops in case one fails...and if you're one of several bands playing that night the extra hassle of setting up your laptop gear could cause setup delays. Then, there's the hassle of switching between effects live...

  • @MrTheafterschoolshow 'transparent' is a bad word regarding a guitar pedal now?!?

  • @Olm9 I think its more that a lot of us want some real thick malty dist tones too, and the pedals that do that arent talked about much!

  • @MrTheafterschoolshow I think your regurgitating what other people have said, transparent is hardly the word to use :S

  • @YouAreTodays I only liked the 1st position on the rumble switch...oh well...stick with the pups Seymour.

  • The company is 65 amps. The model is Soho

  • wtf is a 65 soho he always says that

  • jan akkerman's hocus pocus!

  • i like the line6 pods more

  • Hocus Pocus!!!

  • sounds pretty nice!

  • blackstar tube distortion rapes this thing

  • well yea, but its $80 more

  • can anyone tell me what makes this different from Duncan's Tweak Fuzz? It sounds similar to me.

  • It's a totally different circuit. The Rumble switch is different too. They each break up entirely differently and the TF gets blatty like any good fuzz. The Lava Box is just "ampy" and touch sensitive.

  • sounds much different on my deluxe reverb RI

much more pleasing w/humbuckers than p90 in my opinion

    thanks! gotta love proguitarshop

  • anyone knows the song between 0:00 and 0:07?? plz someone... :P

  • Hocus Pocus by the band Focus

  • that's a real odd song

  • Its the Pro Guitar Shop theme song.

  • Love the "Shoot, Shoot" Schenker (UFO) riff at 3:54.

  • the bos of rock sounds much betters than this pedal

  • For the price difference it better. That's like saying your Lexus is a better luxury car than a Hyundai.

  • Focus - Hocus Pocus

  • what's the song at the beninnig?

  • Focus - Hocus Pocus from the album moving waves

  • All right! Seymour Duncan stepping up to the plate. Lots of grit and grumble which makes it more of a OD pedal than a Distortion. Great sweet spot at the end of the vid Andy.

  • whats the song that hes playing at 1:50?

  • I guess that's supposed to be the chorus of 'you shook me all night long' by ac/dc

  • sounds kind of like a ocd pushed over the edge

  • id like to hear some 12th fret+ solos with the highest rumble position

  • really like the Focus riff!!!

  • Great UFO riffage!!

  • This is probably one of the coolest looking overdrive/fuzz pedals out there.

  • Sounds pretty nice.
