THIS is music! I am proud to have grown up with musicians like this to listen too. I love rock, I love Steve Vai, but you gotta give it up for Roy. The man is a GIANT talent.
I am glad I grew up then too. I loved watching The Johnny Cash Show and Johnny lived in Casitas Springs just up from Ventura, CA with his first wife. I didn't live too far from there when I was a teen.
Both true legends, I've never saw them do this song together! There is NOBODY today in country who can even compare; let's see somebody play 2 harmonicas like Cash could!
This is from a time when America had a culture all it's own. Sure, not everybody understood it, but it was ours and we had some back-breaking talent.
All those "reality" shows and flash-in-the-pan stars of today will be forgotten while fellas like Johnny Cash & Roy Clark are LEGENDS and will live on indefinitely.
@DiscoKat and sunberst1: you´re god damn right, folks! I´m not grew up in those days but i like them very much. It´s very hard to find musicians like them, nowadays...and i´m from germany, and that makes it not easyer...hope you understand. ;-)
@DiscoKat Right On Brother! My friends and I grew up listening to C&W in the 1950's on our old AM radio while cruising. It may sound strange to many of you, but we were Hispanic youth in the 50's listening to C&W and we loved it.
AWESOME! Man am I glad I grew up during those days! There will NEVER be true "STARS" like those guys again. Cash, Haggard, Jones. Waylon, Roy Clark, Jerry Reed, Elvis......Etc.. etc... Those days were the best. There isn't any new performer today that can fill the shoes of those guys. They were all great performers, musicians, and everyone had their own distinct style. Even just thinking about what happened at SUN studio in 1955 seems like a fictional tale. Great video thanks!
ok.... did I just see Johnny Cash dance? ok... ain't that something!!
