early eminem , seeing as he has a slower more punchline heavy flow now, was amazing if you listen to "Buisness" off of Eminem Show it s similar compacting so many words in one breath, sentence, line etc. Kool G Rap is the same, RIP Big Pun top 10 imo
@fishonegg And not even he comes close technically. But what about Biggie, Big L, Eminem, Kool G Rap, Twista, etc.? Those have great flows too and some of them can top RA or come close to RA at least. Or what do you think?
@michaelfeldman91 doesn't matter go on any Lupe track you can see a new flow, search "Switch - Lupe Fiasco" he switches it from evey stereotypical rapper without sweating and thats not even anything compared to some of his other shit and B.I.G. is the Greatest Thing to ever hold a microphone. He was a God no he was THE GOD on the mic. If you could create a perfect Mc it would be Biggie or Lupe. Thier perfect in their craft.
@ackapollo nah doggie big is not the best... his flow may be the nicest, but lyrically dood was just mid level. it all depends on your style of rap dogg. My personal favorites are Jeru The Damaja and O.C. because thier lyrics are concious and arent just about killing bitches and drugs. Infact both of those rappers speak against murder, drugs, and sex. Lupe is a god though dog he never calls a women a bitch in his music and i respect him on a whole other level for that. gotta admit lasers blew
@michaelfeldman91 Homie B.I.G. had fucking lyrics "I can hear sweat trickling down your cheek.Your heartbeat sound like Sasquatch feet.Thundering, shaking the concrete" (Who Shot Ya) B.I.G. was in NO WAY,SHAPE,OR FORM, MID in anything he did. and when your talking about the whole arguement of rappers using derogatory terms or language its just Street Slang shiiiit Wu had a whole fucking dictionary of it. Its Reality/Street Lang Mixed with Imagination. So I think its lame when rappers are so
@michaelfeldman91 Goodie Goodie becuase I listen to shit I can relate too, shit that blows my fucking mind dopeness, Originality while still having that fucking dope ass punchlines. I mean cussing or not its just the STYLE of your music you know. Lupe is G.O.A.T. fuckign insanely skilled. Lasers was more "Mainstream" then anything Ive seen Lupe do but knowing the controversy that went with it It was supposed to not come out at all so Im glad it did but he's alot more real on some songs not
@michaelfeldman91 so much "LYRICAL" but My god "WORDS I NEVER SAID" IS ONE OF THE REALEST MAINSTREAM HIP HOP SONGS SINCE TUPAC was on Radio. That fucking song was so REAL and then "ALL BLACK EVERYTHING" WAS DOPE AND LYRICAL the rest of the albulm I think was weak compared to anything Lupe has made.
He was the best to ever do it, flow-wise. A lot of rappers nowadays are starting to catch up on how he did it, though.. Many new-rappers have gotten the idea. Eminem sorta had it, but never really did it the same smooth way.
"The shady is really a fake alias
so save me in case I get chased by space aliens"
You can see Pun-inspiration written all over that line, for example, and had Pun rapped it, we all know how it would sound like.
That's right my man, I've already compared Pun up against the greatest in every category...real rapheads know the deal, Pun could spit a verse that could've easily ended someones career, his ability to stay on one focused subject matter without the Stop, Sing, and Reset style of other rappers was incredible..between the 80s and 90s..nobody ever stepped to PUN. His tracks are so multi-layered with meaning its ridiculous. I've seen nothing close.
@Comedownify Naah Nas flow wasnt all that great he is more lyrical.. I mean dont get me wrong nas is 1 of the best to ever do it.. but not flow.. his flow wasnt as great as his lyrics.. i say the closest to Pun is Eminem and Big L.
yup big pun is the greatest rapper to ever walk the face of this earth hands down.and for people not to give him the props he deserves,is crazy.that's one of the things i hate about rap, that its so racist.like if you are not black no one is going to listen to what you are saying, even if it's some out of this world type shit.
@esnar1986 you know what...compared to everyone elses advantages of racism against blacks, Hip Hop's majority is black for a reason. We were rejected from everyone elses culture so we made our own. And you're mad you feel that same racism your people give towards blacks. Well it's called karma motherfucker. Every tribe of people hates blacks but love what we do. Even Latinos, there's African culture undoubtedly influenced in their culture but they hate us too....
@LivingNorDying i understand what youre saying..but why would say,oh,these white people or hispanic people etc..were racist to us,so we gonna be racist to everyone else.yes,i agree with you on the fact that many latinos are racist against blacks, but not because the color of their skin, but the activities blacks engage in such as stealing, killing and other crimes.if that was the case then my dominican mother wouldnt have married my dark skinned dominican father...
Big Pun really had the best flow ever. His lyrics are tight too but his flow is just the illest. Beware & Boomerang are some of the tightest songs ever.
Big Pun did have 1 of the best flows ever if not the best. You should check out Percee P if you wanna hear another dude with insane flow, check the song "Put It On The Line" "Unstoppable" "Who With Me", actually any song from P has insane flow.
In my opinion the best MC's of all time when it comes to flow in no particular order would have to be: Big Pun, Big L, Percee P, AZ, & last but not least Kool G Rap. I've never heard any MC's flow as well with the beat than these 5.
dead in the middle of little italy , little did we know we riddle wit 2 middle men who didnt do diddly......my number 1 artist...thats how u know im P.R. ...R.I.P pun
never has been a rapper who raps faster on ryhtm and able to hear every word the best flow ever plus the dude was like 500 lbs come on b the greatest flow ever
As far as just flow, I would have to give the title to AZ. Pun would piece together those sequences, like the one in "Twinz", which were unreal, but I think that AZ's flow is so smooth and has been so consitently from verse to verse, for so many years that I have to give it to him. Big L is my G.O.A.T.
jada got a pretty sick flow too, like he be talking about nothing half the time and he be killing it with flow, but once again i wouldnt say it's better on the same level,it depends on what mood im in to listen to which flows
if we're talking about here then eminem cuz eminem flow also outrageous, also gemini bka gem stones lupe's protoge, there's a dude from brooklyn called hired gun who's flow is pretty amazing, rakim, kool g rap(which is where pun got his flow and tweeked it from), big l, i wouldnt say they was better but on the same level.
big pun is def in my top 10...and im so surprised that no1 mentioned BIG L when it comes to flow...i wouldnt be able to decide whos flow is nicer, puns or L's...bahamadia also had a dope style and flow, ull never hear another flow like hers....and yall cant tell me elzhi flow aint sick...theres so many good mcs out there with dope flow but like i said, pun and big l are in a class all by themselves!!
ya to me the top three mc's with flow in no specific order were biggie, big l and big pun. but its hard to compare because big puns flow was a little fast and biggie had that slow flow. "my slow flows re-mark-a-able" -quote from biggie freestyle. anyways, and big l had a sick flow to but sometimes it went from really fast to a little slow and i just like a steady consitent one. but for me i think biggie had the best flow,
man you are absolutely right. i been saying this for years, big pun was definitely the most underrated lyricist of all time. I think that Em's flow comes the closest to pun's in that they tend to have like 20 rhyming syllables in one bar
either lupe, biggie, or jay-z(during his reasonable doubt days), oh and AZ, and lupe fiasco. respond to this, cuz i wanna kno if u agree, and i want ur thoughts on my choices.
its hard to compare big pun and big because puns flow was a little quick and biggie had that slow flow. biggie and pun are even on flow but i rather listen to biggie. R.I.P. B.I.G. the G.O.A.T.
