In the early days when Homework was release, they used to wear plastic masks or pig masks to hide their faces & after the Discovery album, they came up with the entire robot story. The main reason why Daft Punk disguise themselves is because they believe that artists should be famous for their music & based on who they are! It's all about the music/art for them, not celebrity status & lifestyle!

im with Daftendirekt97 on this one. in 97 it wasnt pre-recorded only the drums and melodies were saved as patterns in the machine and they built everything from nothing to the song from launching those different patterns or samples if u like.

@Hum4ns Since the music is produced, they had the whole set thought out before hand, and during the live show they could tweak the performance slighty(they did this in 1997, and it seems the case in 2007). I know the Red Rocks show was a tad different from the Alive 2007 CD(recorded in france.) This would require little communication, and when you've known someone for a long time, you can usually predict what they may do, esp in a situtation like that. I hope that answers your question.

go read the interviews on how they did there 1997 performance, it was all queued up on their machines. 1997 was a bit different in they were able to change the order of the songs more, like they started with Alive instead of ending with it. But from what I understand they werent producing the music every live show.
