  • Okay well someone PLEASE help me out. I am so interested in this program and i know that you need a BA as a requirement but what about a BFA? Im going to a college to get my fine arts not arts. Is there really a difference? Thanks!

    PS: God bless japan!

  • To all kindness people of all around the world.

We Japanese express our heartfelt gratitude..... From Japan

  • @ikkyuxyz thanks for the comment! :)

  • I think I am who I am only because of Japan, I learn how to feel and how to love because of japanese videogames. I know maybe its sounds pathetic but games and my brother it`s all what I had in my childhood. Im not some kind of guy obssesed with Japan, but so many great japanese things making my days happier and brighter. Im just and ordinary russian guy, I guess i will never be able to go to Japane its to expensive, but my heart will always be with them. And thx u for all those videos, keep up

  • god bless japan! this is a really good idea! =)

  • everyone go type on YouTube: "Why people hate the Japanese" and you'll see why so many people dont care about them :(

  • @MrBubbles468 rebuttal comment left of channel page

  • @myargonauts i think you misinterpreted what i said, I have been to Japan I think it is a great country, you are right what they did in the past is the past but to many people they don't see it that way. They say, "why should we help Japan if they never helped us during our time of need?". What they did in WW2 also has scared their reputation in Asia. I'm simply saying WHY people don't donate, you cant expect to turn your back to the world and suddenly ask for money. Hopefully Japan will learn.

  • @MrBubbles468 How are you liked by your neighbors?

  • @HohtoS mexico really likes us coming into their country for tourism, in fact many Mexicans like our country more than their's. And Canada...... well who DOES Canada hate?

  • Sorry if you guys don't like Lady Gaga, but if you go to her store at ladygaga.com, she is selling "We Pray for Japan" bracelets for only $5. All proceeds go to the Japan relief efforts. It's a cheap and simple way to help, and you get a cool bracelet to wear!

This is awesome, myargonauts! Keep it up!!

  • what you are doing & saying really reached me.I have been into Japanese food & culture since my youth (in my 40's now).Where to start-randomly:Eating Shio Ramen & beef Negimaki, watching Speed Racer & Gigantor cartoons, wearing Shiseido men's cologne & finally, jazz music coming from Japan.I have cried almost every day when i look at the personal updates through CNN video & NHK.I have already given to Red Cross, but i want to do so much more.GAMBATE,NIPPON!

  • Great! Thanks!

  • I was raised that all races are the same, except the Japanese, they are better than us. I love that my dad raised me to know other cultures besides our own like the Japanese.

  • Help Japan <3

  • I was laid off from my job several weeks ago but am trying to scrounge up some money to donate... this is just awful... I really don't even know what to think :(

  • @kalmtraveler don't be in a rush to donate - Japan will need help of various kinds for many months to come, so donate when you can - it will always be needed and appreciated.

  • i wanna donate $100.00 to japan

  • @Chaos2ThaWorld1 -- I launched Help Japan on the 14th.

  • Positive commentary coming up......still hot!

  • I've never been to Japan but It is a beautiful place that needs help-<333

  • Positivity!!! Please help Japan....:(

    Help them<3

  • Here is 50 cents. :D

  • I love this. (:

  • heres 50cents:))

  • I donate through Panda Express, for one reason. They currently have an "event," if you will, where all funds donated through Panda Express they will match. That means if you donate $10, they donate $10, so in a sense, you really donated $20. They also take checks (for large payments), so I've been encouraging everyone interested in donating to the relief fund to do so through Panda Express, so that every dollar goes twice as far. You put it in a collection jar inside the building.

  • Just got back from Chiba last week. Thinking of my loved ones and everyone else in Japan and praying every day. 日本幸運を祈る

  • I pray for Japan and my loved ones there. Please donate and help Japan!

  • this is a great idea. I haven't seen anybody use what they make from their videos to help japan yet. <3

  • @missy192 there is a whole new channel I hope to contribute to soon called Project4Japan that is donating all the channel proceeds to the relief effort, so please check it out

  • I hope you mean 50 cents, not .50 cents! Thank you for doing this for Japan!

  • I love Japan and everything japanese like japanese anime, martial arts, movies, people, playstation, food, samurai, ninjas.

  • Good idea!

  • @videouzleg the response has been really great and to date (3/24) I've raised just under $700 for the relief effort

  • thank you for doing this, I'm sure the Japanese people really appreciate it!! ^^

I hope this counts as a positive comment and the 50cents get donated because of it

  • Me and my friends are raising money for JAPAN, so please take this as a positive comment and send 5o cents thanks you

  • @JibonRahman you got it - .50cents in the pot! :)

I've had a few direct donations, so I can extend the offer here for comments until I reach 350 - and then I'll be back in Japan. Peace

  • Living in Japan has been a dream come true, and I cannot imagine living anywhere else. I love Osaka, I love Japan!

  • I'm sad about what's happening in Japan but i'm sure that Japan is a strong nation and they will rebuild soon . They will find solution for all others too as how to tackle such a situation. I have a lot of regard for Japanese and hope to visit it soon sometime and help out as much as i can.

Thank you for trying. let's all come together and donate something.

    Thank you everybody !

  • I havent been to japan but i love eveything japanese so hope nothing devistating happens further

  • Its a hard time, but I know that Japan will make it through this, keep up the good work Jason :)

  • Japan is my Home as well as home country; it's where I come back. My heart is with them. I thank people around the world like you, Jason, for their love and contribution to the people in Japan. Your positive attitude and warm heart not only will be felt by the Japanese but also have motivated people like me, concerned about them but living far from Japan, to do something. Thanks!

  • @HddtSmz thanks. Click on this users homepage to see a vid of the ceremony in Little Tokyo in LA last week for the victims of the tsunami and earthquake

  • @myargonauts Thank you for letting me display the video of the JACCC memorial service on your page.

  • @HddtSmz douitashimashite

  • Here's for supporting Japan and for your dedication to us as your viewers and for trying to help Japan. Thanks Jason, it's very appreciated by all of us and the Japanese people. I really hope Japan can get back on its feet. I was in Japan for the summer of 2008 and it was one of the greatest times of my life, I made many friends and thankfully they are ok right now! Again, thanks Jason!

  • oh japan, don't let go. Work on. You're gonna make it!!!

    LOVE U, JAPAN!!!

  • I was in Japan 2 years ago and had an amazing expirience there, it's very sad to see what has happened, I hope everyone can do what they can to help out. I am confident Japan will get back on it's feet. Stay strong Japan.

  • One moment you're living life as normal, the next moment you're facing the worst possible situation, and the moment after that your world is turned upside down. My sincere feelings during these troubling times go to Japan all that they've brought to me and the world.

  • I love just about everything about japan, but this time.... Hmm... Skirts... Yep. Love them skirts. On women that is.

  • I love you japan. Get well soon.

  • i love you japan

    love

    afro samurai

  • I feel terrible that I can't help Japan, being a lower class american citizen, I don't have a lot of money. But I have been looking for a way to help Japan, That's how I'm spending my birthday. And heres a Japanese Language lesson Nippon o herupu. It says Help Japan.

  • Any idea if this will effect jet or other esl hiring?

  • @Mbabyblue1233 people are asking, and yes, it obviously will affect the numbers, but my guess is that the JET intake will still happen later this year for 2011-2012. Contact your local consulate in April (they're kinda busy with other things now) and ask for more details

  • I moved here 2 months ago, to Ibaraki. These past 8 days have been surreal - the earthquake, tsunami, 100's of aftershocks and the nuclear meltdown threat, but I still feel so blessed to be here, I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. It's such a beautiful country. All the best with the fundraiser, Jason.

  • there was no youtuber that made a video like this for the pakistan's flood victims in 2010 .. =( .. But I'll definitely be donating to Japan .. =)

  • @HinAhmed yeah - that's a shame. Japan has a huge wealth of foreigners who have lived in the country, most having had a very positive experience and the J-vlogger community on YT is strong, so I'm not surprised we rallied at this time. Donations to Japan are not that strong tho - it's seen as a rich country prepared for this unlike say Haiti. But I have a personal connection to the country and people. I hope that Pakistan never needs videos in the future for reasons like this.

  • I love Japan =) Glad to live here, thanks for posting this, I wish I had seen it earlier! All the best Jason =)

  • @FindMeInKurume nevermind! after posting on here, I remembered that I had already posted a positive comment lol! I'm silly !

  • Sushi , Soba , and Sake. Japan makes me smile. Thanks for making this video Jason. "Kindness should become the natural way of life, not the exception." (Buddha)

  • everyone leave positive comment!!!!!! pray for Japan!!

  • Keep up the awesome work man! Help Japan! :) thoughts & prayers from Christchurch, NZ. :)

  • I have no idea why this never showed up in my subscription box till now. Ugh! Japan will get through this. They are very resourceful and are good and holding true to who they are as a society. They can do this! I'm sure other countries will have a tougher time coming back from something like this. I am holding a fund raiser for the disaster relief on Monday. The proceeds will go to The Japanese Red Cross. Let show Japan how much we care!

  • I was devestated to see what happened (and what is currently happening) in Japan, and hope nothing but the best for anyone effected. Japan's always been a huge part of my life, from anime to video games, to general aesthetics, and it's currently one of my long-term goals to work as an ALT at least once over there. You're channel is definitely a great resource, so thank you for doing what you do! Keep up the excellent work!

  • Japanese culture it's a very important thing in my life. I study japanese, I practice Kendo, I like food, music, literature, etc... I have japanese friends in there. I'm saving money to go there in a couple of years and visit my friends. I know people in Japan will overcome this.

  • this is a great idea. It's terrible what's happenong there.

  • Everytime I read a Japanese person saying thank you for support or hearing about tearful reunions I have to choke back tears. I hope there will be more reunions like the ones I've read about. Especially the one about the 4 month old found alive and retured to her parents who survived. [also I spent approximaly 7 hours watching fox news March 12th]

  • This is a good idea. Thanks Jason! :)

I'm doing what I can too.

  • 11

  • This is a great idea

    Keep Japan in your prayers

  • i wish everyone in japan the best

    the only thing i could say about japan is that it was the best trip ive ever been on and i hope to vist again someday ^^ i love everything about japan uhh idk what else to say ^^;;;

  • i have never been to japan but i really would like to go one day ! I find there culture very fascinating and so cool !

  • god bless japan ♥ you are very good person :D i have a question- how many times are we alowed to comment?

  • @nekochibi135 as many times as you like, but I'm only counting your username once

  • My son and I were both exchange students in Japan. We love Japan and it's people and can't wait to go back for another visit!

  • Help Japan

  • .5€ from me

  • This is great for people like me just trying to find some simple ways that i could help people over in japan.

thank you so much for this.

  • @Tablephone89 you're welcome - thanks for the comment

  • @Tablephone89

Your words say exactly what I feel. Thank you :D

  • I have never been to Japan, but I want to go. I have many Japanese friends living in Japan, and when I was talking to some of them at Midnight from where I was, I started to feel a bit worried, because I didn't want them to get hurt. I have been keeping Japan in my thoughts ever since. I have donated, and I have gotten others to help. I really wish the best for Japan, and I subscribed to you, because you are doing such a great thing.

  • I love bleach or something!

  • I never went to japan but I wanna see it! =)

  • japan good vibes comment!

  • ok

  • Hope everything will work out for japan :)

  • Thank you for this lovely gesture our thoughts and prayers go to all of those suffering in Japan

  • One day I hope to go to Japan when the sakura trees bloom. It really looks like a beautiful sight to behold. :)

My thoughts go out to the people of Japan. I wish them only the best.

  • positive comment!

  • I'm japanese. Thank you so much. we are not alone. All over the world people are praying for japan.

Your idea is really wonderful. Thanks a lot.

  • @yuyuyugo douitashimashite. ganbatte kudasai. All my best.

  • I love Japan!!!!!!!

  • I'm Glad there are people like you that will do what they can to help and support whats going on.

  • Japan will prevail, as it has dome many times before.

  • Japan is amazing, and my dream is to be a JET one day. Also your videos have been amazing

  • I think this is a great idea. I have always wanted to travel to Japan and later this year I will be applying to JET. :)

  • Kim and I are really sad about what is happening right now. She was a part of a sister-city exchange program in High School with a girl from Yonezawa. Yonezawa is pretty close to Sendai, so we were worried about her and her family. Thankfully, we have recently discovered that they are doing okay. I don't have much money at all right now, but I just donated $50 to the American Red Cross. I am sad that I can't do more to help.

  • @ryokosdesire every donation, no matter how large, helps, so thanks Mike. I'll be posting an update vlog on Friday with how much I'm able to send - it's over $150 now, so that's good.

  • I think the donation idea is brilliant! I've been watching the news and wanted to donate some money. Let's hope and pray and donate money for the people in Japan! <3

  • Great idea!! Everything that's happened is really horrible, but we will learn from this! Maybe this is just what we needed to recognize the world around us and how we are all connected and every action we make has the power to change the world for better or worse. Let's lean towards better! I also think it speaks to the great empathy people have deep down and the power we have to unite to help each other out. It gives me a lot of hope for humanity. Viva Japan!

  • This is awesome! Thanks so much for this. I don't have much money so I've been looking for free ways to help and this is a great idea. Bless Japan! They've taken this disaster with so much grace, they really deserve all the help they can get. I'm looking forward to seeing them rise from this which I know they will - and getting myself a brand new Prius! lol

  • @pogoangel77 another free way to help is by writing a letter. Some teachers in Canada are organizing a letter writing campaign to send words of hope to all the children displaced by the tsunami. He's got a crew of 4 and they're gonna translate them into Japanese. I'll try and find the link and add it to the box above.

  • Thank you for this video! We don't have TV but have been trying to keep up online! We are keeping the people of Japan in our prayers! My husband enjoyed visiting Japan when he was in the service! He wishes that we could go back some day. I'm happy I found Naruyo on YT -- she is awesome (another great thing about Japan)

  • I love the Japanese manga so I hope they are all safe ^^

and why I love Japan.... Well its Japan.. and one day I will go there, maybe on vacation or to live.. I'm doing everything I can to learn the language. But I must say its kind of hard to remember it all >_< PS. I like your Vlogs *thumb up*

  • Keep up with what you are doing. The video and links are extremely helpful. THANK YOU! My whole reason for loving Japan and the Japanese people is from having the opportunity to study abroad over there. The friends I have made and memories I kept, will always remind me of why I fell in love with Japan in the first place. If it weren't for the Japanese students who made my trip an experience of a lifetime, I don't think I would have been able to truly appreciate the culture as much as I do now.

  • Good to see that you are OK. I made a donation to the Red Cross after watching your video, thanks for reminding me. It's a terrible thing to happen to such a beautiful people. If I was to pick one thing I love about Japan it would be the kindness of the people.

  • Thanks for updating! And thanks for all the links :)

  • I hope the people of Japan can stay strong through this difficult time. If anybody can, it's the Japanese!

  • I think this is an awesome thing you are doing to help! For my part, I will now post my positive comment, and hope to be included: I have never been to Japan, but hope to visit someday. I would love to see a live Sumo match, visit shrines, and taste the food and hear the music. I feel Japan has a lot to share and I'm the type who would be open to the new experiences.

  • Thanks for the info.

  • Thank you for doing what you can for Japan! I've never been to Japan but I've been wanting to go forever! I feel like it has been a big part of my life because I grew up with those anime shows like Sailormoon, Pokemon, and DBZ. But my interest in it has only increased, I read manga and watch anime all the time and I love the culture. I even learned some of the language and I'm minoring in Japanese Studies :) I hope for the best for Japan!!

  • Glad you're okay. I think Japan had a big impact on my childhood through things video games and anime. Even now that I'm a bit older it still fascinates me and I hope to go sometime when I have enough money or luck to get there.

  • This tragedy truly is an eye-opener for many around the globe, including myself. Luckily, I called some of my family over in Japan; and they're doing well, living far from the devastation. Yet, I do still plan on donating for the cause of helping Japan. It's a country I'm interested in visiting/living in one day, and a country that is truly in need of our help.

Thanks for doing this comment donation Jason.

  • glad to know you are ok.

  • i thought you were in trouble! :-(

good thing you are O.K. :)

  • you're a good man jaosn.

  • i really feel for japan, i went there for my graduation trip and its a very beautiful country. i would love to teach in japan one day. this tragedy is just awful i wish there was more i could.

  • Japan>rest of world !

  • I think were all blessed to know that you're ok, along with all the J-Vloggers and Jets as well. I can see how sad you are because of what happened and I wanted to let you know the Lord is watching over Japan, and he has a good plan in spite of all that devastation we see. I always wanted to see Japan and everything Japanese was part of life in the past and still is, I'm praying for Japan and have comfort knowing that the Lord is watching over it and the people as well. God Bless you, & Japan.

  • peace and love to our brothers and sisters in japan

  • I saw an american english teacher who lives in Fukushima on CNN " in the arena '' His name is Ryan Mcdonald , now he is in a safe place .

  • I barely know Japan from the short time I spent there, but it's a fascinating place and I'd like to know it better. It's a beautiful country, and I'd love to spend more time up in the mountains.

  • I've never been to Japan, but I've learned a lot watching them all the way from Saudi Arabia! I've learned to be way more respective of others & other's ideas. I've also learned to be much less confidant of myself letting me obtain much knowledge and get a huge push in my life- academically and career wise!

    Thank you Japan!

We all here pray for you and all of your people!

    Thank you!

  • Japan is an amazing country! Their culture, people, and spirit are something to admire. Japan is strong and will come through this. I'm sure of it!

  • Ganbare Japan <3

  • glad to see your doing ok.

  • God bless Japan!

  • I love japan, and hope to live and work there one day. Please consider this a positive comment. I hope they can rebuild and move on with success.

  • Keep the comments coming - I've had people donate direct thru the PayPal link at JapanJuku(dot)com so I can keep going to at least 300 comments. Thanks to everyone that has posted so far! -Jason

  • i thanks god you and everyone is doing good and i hope japan come back good i want to go to japan one day and see everyone one i know

  • Thank you form making this video I was looking for ways to help.

  • I love you JAPAN! You guys are strong! I'm giving red cross $300 dollars today. <3 Japan.

  • Japan is my fav country, want to climb Mount Fuji, tokyo tower, games, ext.

  • I am glad that you are doing this, you are such a positive person for understanding this situation and not being negative in a situation like this

  • I've been studying Japanese for 3 years its been difficult but a lot of fun as well. I love the music and detective Conan. I know Japan will bounce back.

  • I gave blood at the red cross yesterday with my Japanese friend and really all of Japan in mind. My friend is probably one of the best friends I made in college. I showed her the US and she plans to show me Japan when I eventually get there. I know once they get over the shock, Japan will be able to rebuild and I look forward to seeing what an amazing culture can really do. I have a feeling they will amaze us all when this is all over with.

  • i'm going to donate all my allowance

  • i'm very glad that you are safe! my prayers and thoughts are with you and those you care for and others that need it. the Lord be with them! <3

  • Never been to Japan but am currently living in Korea, I'm planning on going in May and can't wait!

  • I've applied for JET 2011, and even if it doesn't work out this year I WILL make it to Japan by the end of year. I can't wait to go to an Onsen, stay in a Ryokan, go to the Gion Geisha District, see the Sakura, see Kabuki, stay in a capsule hotel.... or love hotel for that matter, ride on the Shinkansen, try my luck at Pachinko and feast on as much Yakitori and Sashimi legally possible. I've been to Japan b4, and was overwhelmed with their kindness. I will get to Japan, thats a promise.

  • I've been interested in Japan since i was about 10 years old (now 28) I have applied to the JET programme this year and am waiting on the results from the interview. This tradgedy has only made me more determined to go to this great country. Thanks Jason, I've been watching your videos for ages and will be donating myself. Condolencies to the Japanese people and all who have lost somone in this disaster. I feel heartbroken even though I have not lost anyone personally.

  • I have loved Japan the age of 10 (1984) and it grows every day. In September of 2009 I visited Japan and stayed there for 24 days and those days was the best of my life. Now I am planing to move there, I want to spend the rest of my life in that wonderful country.

I will donate to the Japanese redcross when i get cash at the end of this month. I will also buy more Japanese products from now so I can help with rebuilding their economy.

  • Japan is my favorite place in the world. I have been here for almost 4 years and I would do any I can for this country.

    I love the food.

    I love sumo.

    I love Karate.

    I love anime.

    I love Kyoto.

  • Everytime I see students out with donation boxes I empty my change purse. I have also joined the Man Up for Japan event set up by AJET.

  • Thank you Jason :)

  • Thank you Jason, for giving us all the opportunity to feel like we are helping, even just a little bit :)

  • My prayers go out to everyone in Japan.

  • I really appreciate what you're trying to do Jason. You're such a good person. Please continue to inspire people through your videos.

    ~Kane

  • One of the teachers in school today thanked me for the help my country is giving to Japan at the moment. I don't know how the thought even occurred to her.

  • Scary stuff, my wishes go out to the victims. I dunno what I would do, never experienced a tremor.

  • Stay strong Japan! Hope things can return to normal for all my friends there soon.

  • Japan has brought alot me alot of friendships and open my eyes to the world. Has give me a chance to be part of this amazing J-Vlogging community. And I have that all to thank to Japan. So I will do my part and support as much as I can.,with money and positively . STAY STRONG JAPAN!

  • Donating as much as I can, still wish I could do more. All I know for sure is that Japan's people and the Japanese spirit can only emerge stronger than ever from this.

Hope you and everyone you know are doing okay.

  • great initiative!

  • Yes, I would definitely recommend checking out Meaphe. For any new people, her vlog 211 details the earthquake (with footage of it happening while she was at a school) and that video and the following have been so real. She talks about the problems the earthquake has caused for the country as a whole and also on a more personal level, but she also lets some real optimism shine through about how things will get better and how amazing the Japanese people have been in getting through everything.

  • I love the literature and arts of Japan: Kawabata, Soseki,..and the Japanese screens at the Freer Gallery in Washington. It's the land odf the rising sun, not the setting sun.

  • we all know that natural disasters can happen to anyone and can strike at anytime. They leave homes wrecked, and families devastated. So, If anyone hasn't already heard, there is a number floating around out there that anyone can text and your phone will be instantly billed for 10$ by the Red Cross. The 10$ will be sent as a donation to Japan. It doesn't matter who it is, lets help out those in need! : )

  • I wanted to go over everything i love about Japan but they only let you put 500 characters in a comment ; ;

Im sure im not alone in saying my thoughts are with the people of Japan in this trying hour.

  • I will be praying for all the people of Japan.

  • Positive comment.

  • My favorite bass guitar was made in Japan, the build quality is top notch and the sound is amazing. American made models are more expensive, but I've yet to play one as good as my Japanese bass.

  • You guys are awesome - so many great comments!! and lots of direct donations as well already, so I think we'll be able to make a sizable donation to a few different charities. Cheers! -Jason

  • This is coming from youtube pixipatrin, this is her husband's account.

We are wishing all the best.

Our favorite things about Japan? The people, the diverse culture from traditional to modern (music, literature, language, style, the landscapes), uniqueness. There is no place like it on Earth. I, pixipatrin, have been looking for a way back ever since I studied abroad.

I'm actually set to interview March 28th in Nagoya. It's been heartbreaking to see the devastation to beautiful Tohoku.

  • Last night I ran out of gas and couldnt find a station that still had any. I live in Tochigi and there is almost no gas to have out here. 3 and a half hours later I was pushing my motorcycle back to my apartment, which is 10km away, and an old lady came up from behind and asked me if I was out of gas. She snuck me in her gas station and filled up my tank for free. It reminded me just how great Japanese people can be, even in such a terrible time.

  • I'll be praying for everyone in Japan. May God be with them

  • I spent several days in Sendai last June and it breaks my hear to think that some of the things I saw there will never be seen again. Japan is a beautiful country filled with kind people who deserve our help. They will recover from this horrible event and become even stronger.

    Please pray for Haruna Takahashi!
