I'm really glad to see someone fairly comparing and contrasting the two series. I'm really sick of fanboys bashing both series. I like how I see genuine enthusiasm for the franchise instead of bitter fanboying for a particular show.
I mean did you at even at least watch the turtles in space episodes fully and carefully before you jumped to conclusions? because i can defently see a difference and like i said before, not all the triceratons in the 2003 series all look the same.
Now you see DoctorDrinxX10, that's where your wrong, not ALL the triceratons in the 2003 series look the same. some of them have different colors too. some of them are orange, some of them are yellow, some of them are brown and some of them are red. In fact the only triceratons in the 2003 series that look the same are the soldiers, the prison guards, and the rebel soldiers.
It's interesting to note that in 2003 series, and maybe in the comics, but I'm not sure, the Triceratons did the bit where they lifted a city out of the ground, as was also actually done in TMNT 3 on the NES. So if that originated in the comics, then maybe TMNT3 was ORIGINALLY intended to have Triceratons in it, but the idea fell through. Or alternately, the artist got told to draw a city lifting off, and figured it must be the Triceratons doing it.
@boiledcrap I dont know if it was on TV, but that episode became my favourite. Baxter's story is pretty sad and his voice acting is pretty darn good especially when he questions his life.

@MrCow395 Beebop and Rocksteady weren't featured in the 2k3 series of TMNT so there was was no counterpart to compare them to. Baxter, the Triceratons, and Shredder were featured in both the classic and 2k3 shows and the whole point of this video is to compare the TMNT classic villains with there 2k3 versions. Long story short, no 2k3 Beebop and Rocksteady, no comparison to the classics.
although triceratons were cool ceratopsians were herbivores and probably peacefull animals unless they are under attack or when fighting for mating rights. in my opinion they should use some kind of theropod dinosaurs such as t-rex or allosaurus that would make more sense but still they were awesome

I'd disagree with using the frequency of appearance as a check against the old Triceratons. The rat king is the same in reverse, but picking something that was a major story arc and comparing it to a one time appearance just means you picked a bad comparison, not that the change in usage is a check for or against a show.
Actually 2k3 Baxter Stockman couldn´t die because remember that he made a clone of himself so that way he could have a normal body think of it like one of the untron´s exto'skeleton or what ever you spell it there robot body´s think of that episode like if he was in a robot body of the untron´s (in one episode called what a croc he was in one). Issue number six! I still have that old comic. I rarely ever open it, any more, since it's the oldest TMNT comic I've got and still in arguably good condition.
@DoctorDrinkX10 Fast Foreword isn't really part of the 2K3 TMNT series. Fast Foreword just popped up out of no wear the same as how TMNT The next Mutation came out. Season five was supposed to be the last episodes. Fast Foreword was only made to "increase interest in the series"

Just noticed a similarity between the two Baxters.
The classic Baxter was mutated into a fly, which is obviously inspired by the 1958 movie "The Fly".
In the 1986 remake of The Fly, the scientist's transformation happens gradually - not instantly. His full transformation occurs when his girlfriend accidentally pulls off his lower jaw - causing him to shed what's left of his human skin.
In the new TMNT series, when Baxter clones his body back, his jaw is kicked off by April. Sound familiar?
That episode was Insane in the Membrane when Baxter Stockman was hallucinating all while having flashbacks of his youth and his mother who to him was an inspiration.
I saw that episode "Insane in the Membrane" involving 2003 Baxter Stockman's backstory and it was just really sad. You were right about Stockman. He wanted to be normal again and I never thought he'd go so far for revenge. Just watching him go nuts is like seeing a Jekyll and Hyde personality.

I first watched all the eps by downloading them, then later on when the dvd's started coming out, I started purchasing them 1 by 1 and re-watching the episodes.
I should thank you for doing this. I read the original comic that Eastman and Laird had done and you were right, it's very dark and I liked it. I'm gonna one day get my hands on the TMNT DVDs whether they are the 1987 or 2003. I'm a true blue TMNT fan of both.

Yeah, he was. My guess is the people who did the first toon didn't want one of the ninja turtles major enemies to be black since it might be seen as racist or something, not sure *shrugs*
There was a different board of directors at 4Kids when season four was in production. Obviously, because the series had been so succesful, they had slowly gained more trust in the team over the years, but when the episode was finished, that board of directors CHANGED, and they demanded the series be toned down, so that episode was pulled from stateside transmission.
Actually, this episode wasn't aired on TV and it was only shown online and put onto the dvds. So in the end, they couldn't show this ep at all on saturday morning TV
my guess is becuase that episode was very important for the sake of continuity, while the one with Baxter Stockman wasn't in comparison (Despite having several things happen in it that affected the rest of the season)

yeah thats weird, that they made him white cuz they though it would be racist having a black guy getting bosed by shredder(who isn't even white, he's japenese), but I guess back then they had more cencorship twords showing different races.

The original Baxter Stockman in the original cartoon was actually supposed to be African American. But do to racial issues they made him Caucasian.

Just noticed a similarity between the two Baxters.
The classic Baxter was mutated into a fly, which is obviously inspired by the 1958 movie "The Fly".
In the 1986 remake of The Fly, the scientist's transformation happens gradually - not instantly. His full transformation occurs when his girlfriend accidentally pulls off his lower jaw - causing him to shed what's left of his human skin.
In the new TMNT series, when Baxter clones his body back, his jaw is kicked off by April. Sound familiar?

That episode was Insane in the Membrane when Baxter Stockman was hallucinating all while having flashbacks of his youth and his mother who to him was an inspiration.

I saw that episode "Insane in the Membrane" involving 2003 Baxter Stockman's backstory and it was just really sad. You were right about Stockman. He wanted to be normal again and I never thought he'd go so far for revenge. Just watching him go nuts is like seeing a Jekyll and Hyde personality.

I first watched all the eps by downloading them, then later on when the dvd's started coming out, I started purchasing them 1 by 1 and re-watching the episodes.

I should thank you for doing this. I read the original comic that Eastman and Laird had done and you were right, it's very dark and I liked it. I'm gonna one day get my hands on the TMNT DVDs whether they are the 1987 or 2003. I'm a true blue TMNT fan of both.

Yeah, he was. My guess is the people who did the first toon didn't want one of the ninja turtles major enemies to be black since it might be seen as racist or something, not sure *shrugs*

There was a different board of directors at 4Kids when season four was in production. Obviously, because the series had been so succesful, they had slowly gained more trust in the team over the years, but when the episode was finished, that board of directors CHANGED, and they demanded the series be toned down, so that episode was pulled from stateside transmission.

OK, I've never seen the episode where Baxter's body starts to decay. But after seeing these clips I can only find more reasons to complain.
According to Laird the whole point of making Shredder an Utrom was so they could show his decapitation during the Saturday morning time slot.
Yet they can show graphic footage of Baxter's jaw and fingers falling off?

Actually, this episode wasn't aired on TV and it was only shown online and put onto the dvds. So in the end, they couldn't show this ep at all on saturday morning TV

my guess is becuase that episode was very important for the sake of continuity, while the one with Baxter Stockman wasn't in comparison (Despite having several things happen in it that affected the rest of the season)
