  • This is an awesome song, however i love the full version performed by Jack Johnson more, with beautiful piano tones. I know this song is made famous by Greg Brown, but i must say i like Jack's voice and version alot more. Thumbs up!

  • A Good cover of Greg Browne's Spring Wind! Not to be rude but check out greg Brownn as posted by SerguiNeghina listed to the right. It's excellent!

  • Sorry Jackie but that old fellow Greg Brown blows your socks off!!, but good on you for giving it a go. Better luck next time.

  • Whoa. Calm down angry hippies!

  • Jack Johnson Rules! --> Fuck Titanium starship & avsrule27 also! bitches

  • simply speechless Sweet love

  • I applaud Jack Johnson for even attempting to cover a Greg Brown song. Although Jack Johnson's songs are not as sophisticated as many other musicians who inspire him (e.g. Mason Jennings and Greg Brown) it bodes well for the future of a relatively inexperienced songwriter to be emulating such great talent. I look forward to seeing Jack Johnson come into his own and create some non-formulaic, original music in the next 10 years or so.

  • exactly what makes him less sophisticated?

have you listened to any of Jack Johnsons music? he has been writing music and selling cd's for about 10 years now. and ALOT of his lyrics paint fantastic pictures.

also Mason Jennings is about as "relatively inexperienced" as Jack Johnson, they've both been around the same amount of time.

Listen to the "Sleep through the static" album a few times and tell me you haven't changed your mind. then listen to his other albums.

  • Greg Brown rules...next time i'm in iowa city i'm heading to the mill to grab a burger basket and a pitcher of beer. If i'm lucky Greg will make one of his impromptu performances

  • do you have one???

so good i wish i was one too. =)

and signed by ben harper and donavon frankenreiter too of course

  • if you're out of arguments you start insulting the Germans... this discussion gets to a point where it become ridicilous

  • you should be crazy.

see, i'm Poesdouro and i just wrote: "do you have one???

so good i wish i was one too. =)

and signed by ben harper and donavon frankenreiter too of course "

i am a girl and i was talking about surferboards.

Why are you insulting me. Probably because you don't know where you send your answers here on youtube.

  • becomes*

  • LOVE LOVE LOVE Greg Brown...a true american icon...it's so frustrating that someone with tact, class, intelligence, and talent gets largely overlooked by the media and mainstream america...People instead listen to Jack Johnson and his fake whiteboy reggae groove thing...Jacks groove is like if my grandmother tried to get funky...look deeper...there is MUCH better stuff out there kids.

  • 1. what do you think people will answer to you under a jack johnson video after reading your comment?

    2. jack johnson is a great musician. his sucess has reasons and if he really has the groove of your grandma he wouldn't have such a sucess

    3. your comment is kind of stupid, because you're insulting a muscian, that is covering your (i guess) favourit muscian. you should thank jack to play the song, because greg brown gets popular with jack playing that song

  • reply to 1,2,and 3.

    1. I'm not looking to make friends, just make some "mainstreamers" think a little harder.

    A. I was OBVIOUSLY being sarcastic about my grandmother's rhythm because she, unlike Jack, actually varies her rhythms to include more than just the fratboy funk acoustic funk strum. If you know ANYTHING about music and rhythm, you'll understand what I'm saying.

    3. Greg Brown is doing well enough to make him happy. He doesn't need a bunch of Jack Johnson fans showing up. Trust me.

  • 1. well, but people won't think about it

    2. i think you know, that i don't mean that serious

    3. but why are you complaining then?

  • i really truly think that Greg Brown is a very happy person. i am sure his wife can take care of him in regards to money. if he was to become more popular, mostly likely his music would suck. this is the hard thing about when a few people discover something so cool and then want everbody to find out. it then always turns to mainstream crude. in regards to your comments about Jack Johnston, they are somewhat turn, but it funny even all the same his songs sound.

  • the same but each time i hear them, it just makes my soul smile. so what have u done to make this planet a better place. also u have nothing to do with Greg Browns career.

  • 1. i don't, i think that about your coment

    2. yes, i do

    3. you said that greg brown does not need attention from jack johnson fans but you try to get the attention

    4. i don't freak out. it seems that you do that

(and the thing with the sentence.. i'm from germany sorry for that :O)

  • say no shit asshole You better go fuck yourself! by theway who the fuck is greg brown?

  • very well thought out statement segurivirix. i took your advice and my asshole has said no shit but it made my stomach hurt. i also tried to "fuck" myself and my dick just isn't big enough...darn. you seem like a really intelligent person. good luck to you.

  • man your a douche

  • This medley almost brings me to tears. You are a great person Jack. I've listened to you for many years now and I will never stop. Thanks for the music. You're my favorite.

  • I've been a Jack Johnson fan for many years. But my respect for the man has increased measurably...he covered Greg Brown, one of our truly great songwriters, a master.

  • Both are great singers and songwriters..!

  • Glad to see that Greg Brown is getting his props. That's my favorite GB song, so I'm a little partial to his version.

  • this is ok, but greg brown the writer of this song has his better original version that you all should buy.

  • LOL, you must be kidding. O.K., so the you tube Brown concern performance of that song seems a little disorganized, but if you hear it off of his "Dream Cafe" album you cannot possibly think Johnson's version is better. Johnson doesn't even sing the whole song! I love Johnson, but come on!

  • yup...Greg's version on Dream Cafe is superb and on LIVE...noone, after all, does Greg like Greg.
