All the people who are saying this years STARS is rigged because of Bristol Palin making it this far, I don't believe that is the case at all. Granted, there are dancers that still should be in the race, but even though Bristol's dancing leaves something to desire, There have been others who made it this far and didn't dance very well either. Marie Osmond, Marissa Jarret Winoka(?) weren't very good either. Just my opinion of course.

My 2nd favorite freestyle ever. Mark and Shawn's freestyle from Season 8 was my favorite but this one is such a close 2nd. Anyone who doesn't believe this guy deserved to win is out of their mind crazy. He has the heart and the technique, and Julianne is the best female pro that the show has ever seen (her brother Derek being the best male of course. ;) )

I never missed a minute of this season. Mel and Max would have absolutely had it but their freestyle was boring. With Mel's hiphop experience I expected so much more. I rooted for her the whole time, though. Marie's freestyle was just plain weird. Julianne and Helio's was the most entertaining. They deserved that trophy.

This is the best freestyle I have ever seen. I know that a lot of people will probably attack me using Kristi and Mark's routine. Kristi and Mark's routine was still amazing and probably more risky, but I felt like Julian and Helio's freestyle was the one that entertained me the most. If i was in the audience during this time, I bet I would've went crazy like no other. LOL

I liked her freestyle with Apolo better, but I loved Helio and his personality really won me over. I think he was a better dancer then Apolo but not in the freestyle. Apolo took the freestyle IMO. Whatever she had awesome chemistry with both of them and it came across in the dances and really got people behind them.

People forget helio was a racecar driver with not previous experience, Sabrina, Mel even Marie all had dance experience. Julianne takes partners from scratch and makes them fantastic so yeah Jules won it, but Helio stepped up his game every week.

yeah, focusing on Helio throughout the dance instead of Julianne made the dance completely unextraodinary. He didn't move much and was awkward... sorry guys I love him too but that's what I saw :( Anyway now I see exactly why this show is easier for guys... because it's so easy for the guy to do little and let the girl do flashy moves that impress the crowd!

Ballroom dancing really has a main focus on the women. The women are the ones who have to do all the flashy spins and tricks which leaves the men to lead the dance. If you have ever seen a man try to take over the dance and do all the flashy tricks while the woman stands there (For example, watch Tony Dovolani and Marissa Jaret Winokur's 1st Cha-cha of Season 6) it just doesn't work out.

That's exactly what I meant. The women have to do the flashy moves, which works out perfectly for male contestants and female pros, but is very hard for female contestants and male pros. Sometimes you'll get someone like Kristi who can at least share the hard moves equally with Mark, but usually the female contestants, as the focus of the eye (the colorful dresses versus solid color suits, etc) have a lot of trouble comparing with the female pros.
