I was 15 when I could buy the M.H. cassete, it was certainly my awake to rock music, I´m 52 and still awakening due to this video, thanks deeppurpleos.
Now matter how often I hear Ritchie speak, his soft, almost shy voice and his perfect RP English (to my foreign ears, that is) never ceases to amaze me. I was lucky enough to meet him ten years ago and chat with him for half an hour: I love his intelligence, his politeness and his sense of dry humour.
The album was Recorded 40years ago this month. December 6th - December 21st, 2011 or around there. The album was released in April of 1972. The rest is History.
Closing Statement: "Ritchie did not like it" And yet the video ends with a solo by Ritchie that is so beautiful that it even makes us, who are not bereft from the sense of sight, cry. Now I know why Ritchie didn't like the song...it's not only the blind man who cries...
Deep Purple and th best Album ever ,MACHINE HEAD,Ritchie Blackmore and the Best Riff of the history IN Hard Rock music,SMOKE ON THE WATER !What you need.
Very interesting documentary. GREAT, GREAT, GREAT, GREAT album, great sound. It's so modern after 40 years, so...progressive, in some ways. Hats off to these guys.
moc dekuju, sůpostu veci jsem vubec nevedel, nebo neslysel, dokud jsem nevidel tento dokument. Zrovna Machine Head mam strasne rad od detstvi. Jeste jednou dekuji.
Fantastic documentary! I'm glad I had a chance to see Purple back in the day. There have been few bands since that could claim the pedigree of Deep Purple. It wasn't just hard rock, it was real music played by highly accomplished musicians. Show me a band, even from those days, that could boast that all 5 musicians were at the top of their respective positions. They were like one of the best Yankee teams ever...An All-Star at every position.
Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful documentary with your fans. Dear Mr. Jon Lord, we're all praying for you to get well soon. We simply refuse to let you stop playing the beast. From Uruguay, with love, a humble fan, keyboard player and lifelong follower, Pablo Martínez
Sort of funny, I asked a question the other day (perhaps yesterday) in Ritchie´s channel and here came the answer. Are you guys working together?
Great to hear how the band has been working with musical ideas and the stories around.
I love the story about how the band is climbing through the hotel to go from the place of recording to the place of playback t to hear it, an for sure how the band is telling it "together".
DEEP PURPLE ES UNO DE LOS MEJORES GRUPOS DE LOS 60S 70S JUNTO CON BLACK SABBATH LEDZEPPELIN . CLASE APARTE LOS BEATLES Y LOS STONES OF COURSE!. LOS CUALES INFLUENCIARON TODAS LAS CORRIENTES EN EL ROCK. A SABER HEAVY METAL BLACK METAL ETC. ETC. Y ADEMAS CON LA CREATIVIDAD DE LOS INGLESES. LARGA VIDA AL ROCK!

Back when music was NOT under the thumb of the corporate elite.
Wondering: Many bands found out after a gig, that the promoter took all the cash and ran off.
Has this ever happened to Deep Purple?
Wondering2 If the promoter demanded that Justine Beiber join you on stage.... would you? :D
