  • is this phone slide left to right?? i see it in qatar the 5730 slide in right i think???

  • Left. The qatar one must be a fake.

  • Mine question:

    Nokia 5730 or Se W995?

  • is this phone touchscreen ?

  • No!

  • this is very helpful for me! haha thanks a lot!

  • Hi Steve!! Some question, Nokia N97 or Omnia HD?

    Thanks!!

  • lol make drill holes on the phone back cover

    best idea!!! =D

  • Are you going to do a review of the LG Electronics GW300? It's not really a smartphone, but the form factor and price make it probably intersting for your audience. Also, you briefly review the other qwerty-phone from lg (forgot the model no.)

  • Maybe. With a big M 8-)

  • hey Steve... is it worth registering for wave secure service provided for free by Nokia....

also which device is better... the Nokia e90 or the blackberry bold...!!!

  • Wouldn't have thought so.... Save your money?

Bold is more up to date? Tough call though.

  • does it have an accelerometer?? =)

  • *Every* modern S60 device has one.

  • What's the name of the 6" Screen device?

  • Psion Series 5... Google it! 8-)

  • Well Symbian Evolved from Psion' Did it evolved from Psion?

  • Yes, Symbian started as 'Psion Software'. I used to (kind of) work for the latter, doing software for their Games Pack!

  • pls replay steve :) Nokia N900 or Omnia HD ? :)

  • Neither. I'd rather have something vaguely mature and well supported. 8-)

  • then what do u recomand :) (device )

  • Nokia N95, E71 and E75 spring to mind. And the N97 after October, which is a lot more future proof 8-)

  • thxz a lot 4 replay steve but y have n95 8gb it's a great device but it's old ... not a E serias fan end n97 have the same speekers like n86 very low speekers :)

  • Hi steve

I 100% agree with you regarding the security let it be one contact or 100 contacts sync everyday without fail and take a backup on the card and PC atleast once in a month there is point is crying over spilled milk when u have umpteen options to keep it secure

I saw your review and comparison of 5730 Xm in AAS too i am serously considering it as i have become a fan of QWERTYes and bad side of it is the speakers it sounded like S**t with the back cover, a nice find from you too

  • Hi Steve, Good review of the Nokia 5730. I've had that phone for about a month and I like how understated it looks and feature packed it is.

There is one thing you missed on is that it has gaming buttons for the Nokia's n-gage 2.0 platform.

I'm glad there is still an alternative to the touch screen dominance mobile devices have these days.

I don't like the plastic battery cover too much though and it annoys me also how muffled the sound is. I might drill the battery cover like you said. lol

  • heh that old data device sure is a true thing ,my dad has a quite similar device from compaq. it too is over 10 years old

  • Hi Steve,

Will you be comparing the HTC HD2 and N900 soon? Those are on my shortlist for my next upgrade. Any thoughts as to which one is better?

  • Yes, assuming the relevant PR companies get the hardware organised!! HD2 looks good but that TouchFLO system is going to rankle with me yet again, I reckon....

  • Steve,

Could you please add any links, that you mention in your videos, to the videos description.

  • I normally show the links on-screen - remember that 80% of viewers pick up the show via RSS or iTunes!!!!

  • I dunno... I used to enjoy The Phones Show, but since I switched from Nokia to the iPhone 3G(s), I'm having trouble giving a rat's ass about it. Time to hit the unsubscribe button.

  • Fair enough. Trouble is that it's hard to give much coverage to the iPhone since Apple only do ONE new model per YEAR 8-)

  • lol @ end! :D

  • Wow .. what you said in the end, SO TRUE! I couldn't have said it better myself ;-)

It's incredible, isn't it? It really really is...

  • Steve, the volume levels are so f'd up. The music in the beginning and at the end si so freaking LOUD! compared to the voice you use to speak. :/

Could you fix it? ...oh and also your shirt needs some fixing. :D

  • Yes, sorry about that. I got hit by an iMovie 09 bug, it seems. Gah. I'm not re-uploading it all again...... Sorry.

  • Omg.. I like that cheeky bit you did at the end.. You had me going! Quite agree with that point though :)

  • Yeah, I'm going to develop a Steve Jobs 'One last thing' meme.....

  • Awesome as always Steve :D. I was really excited when I saw a new video from you!

  • What a nice show!...

  • You are absolutely right about syncing the data...special after T-Mobile sidekick TRAGEDY...and i think only 1 service or server is not enough so I always sync with my laptop..OTA with Google and ZYB....so if in case 1 failed or get troubled ,i can recover from another source..

  • Congrats Steve, as usual great show and lots of information..i like specially the Steve Jobs part..lol..I was expecting the top 5 in this show but better luck next time...lol

  • Great show, Steve.

The 5730 looks quite tempting to be honest, though I think I'll hold out a bit more and go for the E72.

Also, the moment you said a 6 inch touchscreen I knew what you were talking about, it is rather perplexing though, how in some ways we've gone backwards technology-wise.

  • I loved the ending. Where did we go wrong indeed! Thank you for the show! I was entertained and informed!

  • If anyone can see this, it appears that user comments are broken at YouTube's end 8-(

  • This happened last time as well, I posted two comments and none of them showed up. :(

I think Youtube has something against you, Steve.

  • is this phone better than the nokia 6120?

  • lol @ 08:17

    "argh"

  • hey steve,what phone do you have?nokia 5800?

  • All of them. Well, almost. 8-)

  • First time I have ever been the first to post a comment...

Which one? Omnia HD i8910 or Nokia N900

  • What about the Sony P-series...albeit not phones, small, large screen, pretty functional keyboard?
