By far the worst Comic Book Movie of all, somebody have to write a better story to this I mean come on The Punisher deserves a better story . The 2004 version was alright I think it needed a little more action. I wish some Director can reboot this franchise and write a better story

Alot of people try to compare War zone and the first punisher,but both are good in their own rights. Both capture the two different aspects of Frank. Jane's was more psychological,whereas Stevenson's focused on Frank's marksmanship and brutality,but in regards to comic accuracy..WZ takes the prize

And it doesn't matter if you think this movie was closer to the comic books, because that doesn't mean that the movie is good. Comics and films are a different medium, so remaining more faithfull doesn't always work. The fact is, this movie wasn't that solid.
It was a fast, fun ride, but in retrospect, the Punisher movie I've re-watched more is the 2004 film- it was better made.

Punisher War Zone was a true punisher movie. as someone whose been a fan of punisher for 15 years, i know that Stevenson was loyal to the character because he remained poker faced, taciturn and cutoff emotionally. black humor, gore, violence and absurdity is what makes Punisher what it is. Jane was good as pun but he wasn't that true to the character. he drank and tried to kill himself and was a bit too goodlooking.

punisher warzone is nothing on the first one, i found warzone boring and more like a batman film than the first punisher, the bad guys were shallow and inplausable, ie, the meth addict who is a super fit gymnastics dude.....as if. i was expecting to be impressed but found myself bored. this film is def worth a watch but don't expect it to match the first one.

I dont know the comics well, but i do know the first film and they should have kept Thomas jane, he did a good job. have you seen how quick this film went to DVD and Blueray? and this came out after Watchmen yet that hasnt even come to the shops yet. btw, the thomas jane florida setting punisher movie isnt the first punisher movie if you didnt know. the first one came out about 20 years ago and it starred dolph lundgren(ivan drago) as frank castle/punisher and the main villians were the yakuza. if you liked punisher war zone, you'll love this one. its good except for two nitpicks of mine, the trademark skull is not present and you cant get villians more stock than the yakuza
what fucked this movie over was the fact that it only appealed to die hard fans of the comic series or to anyone who likes gruesome shot em ups, and it eluded mainstream audiences which i dont think is necessarily a bad thing. i think the same group of people who didnt like this movie are the same kinda people who hated batman returns, another fairly deicent movie which suffered because it was really violent and only appealed to those who like dark and depressing atmosphere and tones

the first film in my opinion was the best due to the way they trained the leading actor and how it was modeled after reality, and it came from the stand point of what a real person would do. War zone modeled the comic almost exactly it had the cartoonish look and the steven segal type actor that went around beating the shit out of every bad guy with almost no plot to it at all. Now dont get me wrong it was a good movie but it just depends on your taste and take of what the punisher should be.
The movie is very close to the comics unlike most of Marvel Comic adapatations. The thing is, the movie seems that it only appeals to comic fans best but hated by typical movie fans.

This was the Punisher I've been waiting for. Finally they let someone play him how he is in the comics. Ray nailed the character and even managed to act when needed. The last punisher had a good cast but shitty writing, it felt like a damn chick flick. This was a great movie.

War Zone was a B movie to me. Absolutely ridiculous. That Jigsaw brother was nothing but a fat idiot bald midget, and punisher a complete showoff. His knives cuts heads, his punches destroy skulls, and god i hate so much that first scene where he hangs shooting in every direction: they confused Frank Castle with Antonio Banderas.

I don't know if i should agree, cause i really liked the 2004 Version. But i haven't seen this one yet. But what seems a little strange is that the only thing people are pointing out is the Blood and Gore. And then they tell how "bad" the previous Movie was. So these are the the only reasons why the new one is better in their opinion but for me Blood+Gore dosen't automaticly mean = Violence. As seen lately in TDK,SAW 1 or Sergio Leone Western, heavy Violence can also be done in a subtile way.
I think all the 3 punisher movies had there own style.
Punisher 1989 - Took in the leather MC style so Terminator2 had a new style- looks like arnolds cloth
Punisher 2004 - A movie that everyone can enjoy and dont need to read the comic to understand his background wich i think is great

AMAZING movie, no question. For me, this was one of those movies that really set the bar as far as action films go. The last time I had this kind of experience was Terminator 2. Both T2 and Warzone are pure action films that really change film. The Dark Knight was an awesome story too, but i feel that people are only focusing on Heath and not the movie itself, and that's why its so high up there. People forget how amazing Christian Bale's performance is in both TDK and Begins, its really sad.

ok, I think this movie was ok, it had more action scenes, which the first movie didn't have cause it took too much time with the origin story. This movie went straight into the Punisher's world, though I wonder if he was in NYC, where the fuck was Spiderman? That's his city. Punisher War Zone was a true punisher movie. as someone whose been a fan of punisher for 15 years, i know that Stevenson was loyal to the character because he remained poker faced, taciturn and cutoff emotionally. black humor, gore, violence and absurdity is what makes Punisher what it is. Jane was good as pun but he wasn't that true to the character. he drank and tried to kill himself and was a bit too goodlooking.

punisher warzone is nothing on the first one, i found warzone boring and more like a batman film than the first punisher, the bad guys were shallow and inplausable, ie, the meth addict who is a super fit gymnastics dude.....as if. i was expecting to be impressed but found myself bored. this film is def worth a watch but don't expect it to match the first one.

IT was NOTHING compared to batman!!! punisher kills! batman beats them up and lets them go!!! punisher fights over 100 mobsters with big 2 handed machine guns! batman goes and fights 4 or 5 people with just normal hand pistols! punisher's villain was freaky with no special effects! they had to make joker look creepy with special effects.

I dont know the comics well, but i do know the first film and they should have kept Thomas jane, he did a good job. have you seen how quick this film went to DVD and Blueray? and this came out after Watchmen yet that hasnt even come to the shops yet. I hate it when they change actors in sequel films, its like asking you to just forget the first film.

btw, the thomas jane florida setting punisher movie isnt the first punisher movie if you didnt know. the first one came out about 20 years ago and it starred dolph lundgren(ivan drago) as frank castle/punisher and the main villians were the yakuza. if you liked punisher war zone, you'll love this one. its good except for two nitpicks of mine, the trademark skull is not present and you cant get villians more stock than the yakuza

what fucked this movie over was the fact that it only appealed to die hard fans of the comic series or to anyone who likes gruesome shot em ups, and it eluded mainstream audiences which i dont think is necessarily a bad thing. i think the same group of people who didnt like this movie are the same kinda people who hated batman returns, another fairly deicent movie which suffered because it was really violent and only appealed to those who like dark and depressing atmosphere and tones

the first film in my opinion was the best due to the way they trained the leading actor and how it was modeled after reality, and it came from the stand point of what a real person would do. War zone modeled the comic almost exactly it had the cartoonish look and the steven segal type actor that went around beating the shit out of every bad guy with almost no plot to it at all. Now dont get me wrong it was a good movie but it just depends on your taste and take of what the punisher should be.

This was the Punisher I've been waiting for. Finally they let someone play him how he is in the comics. Ray nailed the character and even managed to act when needed. The last punisher had a good cast but shitty writing, it felt like a damn chick flick. This was a great movie.

I don't know if i should agree, cause i really liked the 2004 Version. But i haven't seen this one yet. But what seems a little strange is that the only thing people are pointing out is the Blood and Gore. And then they tell how "bad" the previous Movie was. So these are the the only reasons why the new one is better in their opinion but for me Blood+Gore dosen't automaticly mean = Violence. As seen lately in TDK,SAW 1 or Sergio Leone Western, heavy Violence can also be done in a subtile way.

Punisher 2004 - A movie that everyone can enjoy and dont need to read the comic to understand his background wich i think is great

AMAZING movie, no question. For me, this was one of those movies that really set the bar as far as action films go. The last time I had this kind of experience was Terminator 2. Both T2 and Warzone are pure action films that really change film. The Dark Knight was an awesome story too, but i feel that people are only focusing on Heath and not the movie itself, and that's why its so high up there. People forget how amazing Christian Bale's performance is in both TDK and Begins, its really sad.

I was truly surprised at the level of gore and violence in War Zone, but being a fan of the original comics it was a nice surprise. Finally Punisher has been done right. It's just a shame it didn't perform too well in the box office, I'd love to see another one.

ok, I think this movie was ok, it had more action scenes, which the first movie didn't have cause it took too much time with the origin story. This movie went straight into the Punisher's world, though I wonder if he was in NYC, where the fuck was Spiderman? That's his city. Anyway, the movie seemed to be more camp than the first, and gives the whole exagaration of what the Punisher is, though the spinning on the chandlers was kinda overrated and stupid. you obviously missede the point of the whole movie, it's not supposed to be a serious movie. Dammit why the hell do people always have big expectations when it comes to movies now days. The only reason you did'nt enjoy it is because your someone who likes to watch really intelligent films. I mean honestly not all movies are supposed to be like that. The point of this movie was to escape from the real world and enjoy the performance and action.

LOL yeah! I mean, the whole basis of the "dark knight" was to have a hero that would incite fear and justice through the criminals. After seeing warzone, why anyone would fear batman when he lets everyone live and the punisher just kills everyone in the most ridiculous but brutal way.

Oh please The Dark Knights saving grace was Ledgers performance as The Joker. Bales performance as Batman was WOODEN as a pine tree forest! And I love the dweeb with the mic with his "I just rolled out of a fuckin dumpster" hairdo telling everyone to buy the Dark Knight dvd instead. Noloads, the lot of em!
