You guys gotta remember that this is Milwaukee. A real q wouldn't really work just cause it's too damn loud. But all of our trucks have the eq2b. And MFD is strictly pierce. The only rigs that are not pierce are the med rigs and a few reserve units. Some suburban departments that i know of have the Q/Power call combo. I'll see if I can get a ride along with them and post a vid.

As far as the mantis mirrors, I don't like them. It's nice in that they don't stick out wide, but especially on some of our rigs that have curved class in the windshield, it makes backing up a pain. Our newer engines don't have the mantis mirrors on them.

Man, those new Pierce trucks are ugly! LaFrance, Spartan and Ferrara are the best looking rigs out there. Pierce makes a good truck, but it's a face only a mother could love!

dude i love those engines! i made one out of lego not a while back! the only thing that wold make this engine a REAL pierce 2009 is an eq2b, q2b, powercall and grover airhorns! and for the lighting all clear led lights and a legend or raydien s2!

i personally dont like an all LED setup on a firetruck. i think that SOME LEDs on them are cool...but i think that the regular lightbars mixed with LEDs are cooler. and those eq2bs sound kinda stupid. lol. but this is just my opininon.

that is one beastly huge truck... but why the weird not-quite-complete-cabover design?? and with a windshield on so small of a slant? ... iunno if i like that part.

the mirrors are like a face only a mother could love... lol... but i'd wager a case of beer that they making driving the rig a hell of a lot easier. ugly, maybe, but damn well useful. :-)

Looking at that Velocity.......I am thinking that this might have been given to this Department to test. The truck and the paint scheme are not even M.F.D. Nor is there green lights on it. I have alot of family and friends at Pierce and there has been many of these hand out truck to try and beat them up. Grand Chute near Pierce HQ received a real nice velocity last year. The one-eleven mirrors are big and ugly but you an see your rears to your front at a glance. You have to c in order to luv
