the whole akira soundtrack seems very "indonesian" actually: track 1 of the soundtrack uses a Jegog, track 2 has a very clear reference to the Monkey Chant, the track "Tetsuo" uses another type of Gamelan... and probably there are other indonesian inspirations on it...
anyways it's thanks to Akira I'm a complete gamelan geek now...
