  • what is the best modern city building game? someone plz help? thx in advance

  • I hope this development studio make a game like RollerCoaster Tycoon or Theme Hospital. I can't believe those ones are over 10 years old!

  • This isn't exactly a review. It is more like a gameplay video. You do not really go into detail of the pros and cons.

  • It's $5 on steam right now!! the sale ends in 1 hour so hurry people!! <3 steam sales

  • Great review. The game looks nice.

  • i still have no idea what this is about -,-

  • Thanks! I thought it would be something like Transport Tycoon(back in the 90s)which I loved and I was totally correct, buying it this instant.

  • wooow like sims city

  • sounds like transport tycoon or locomotion

  • How the hell do you not s-stutter!

  • its somthing like TRANSPORT GIANT ???

  • well that does it, i'm gonna have to try this now... BUT only cause the collection with all the DLC is on sale on Steam for $10

  • is this game like cities XL where you can create and run a city from scratch?

  • @ieatfirepies It appears that the city is already there, you just provide the transport.

  • Review sub español plase =(.

  • your voice is smooth no homo!

  • jesus dude take a fucking breath!

  • i love your voice :)

  • Do you actually build the city like Simcity 4 etc? Or just do little missions?

  • @Newto77721 The city is already built, all you have to do is set the routes and buy vehicles. You can still build cities if you want with the city builder, but it's not part of the main game.

  • ou as-tus achetais le jeu

  • Is this better than Simutrans?

  • wtf this is NOT a review! this is an AD!

  • This remember me MicroProse Tycoon Transport

  • Yes!! I just bought it :D

  • Is this really a game about transportation?

  • Great review but ideally you need to give it an objective score.

  • @kmanmx Thank you very much! But at Elder-Geek, we don't rate games, movies, etc. with arbitrary numeric scores. We point out the flaws and triumphs of a game in the review and then we state whether we think it is worth purchasing, trying, or if you shouldn't even bother.

    Thanks again!

  • @ElderGeekDotCom this game or cities xl 2011?

  • @ElderGeekDotCom I must say that I love your review style and that it helped me decide that the game is more than worth the $10 sale price that Steam is currently charging for the complete collection. I'm subscribing and will check your channel for any games that I'm not sure about in the future.

  • @ElderGeekDotCom With a large number number of "interesting" games with good points and bad points, I think arbitrary numeric scores have value. When someone has a limited budget and is interested playing something new, arbitrary scores can help them (me) make better choices. Don't devalue the scoring system. If you want, include it on a separate link and not on an upfront link. I'd rather a game be judged against it's asking price than against some general categories.

  • @kmanmx

there isn't such a thing as objective score

it's always someones opinion and they're always subjective since everyone has a different taste

  • @kmanmx Why? The review score is the least important part, and often completely arbitrary. Watch or read a review and pay attention to the arguments and points used by the author.

  • This game looks addictive, I'm gonna download the demo now. Thanks ElderGeek!

  • @Joeyboots80 Oh, it is very addictive.

  • i love this genre of gaming, from Rollercoaster tycoons to Transport giant and this is the game i was forever looking for after finding myself still addicted to the Traffic Giant which has lots of similarity to this but the graphics are a little too weak/old for me. This has wonderful graphics, if i was ever in a sitiuation of buying THIS or Starcraft, i would obviously buy this, as im a huge fan of public transport and especially Trolleybusses because my hometown Gdyinia is filled with them.

  • nah cities xl 2011 you get to build the hole city.

  • sim.. transportation... wtf.

  • Comment removed

  • Just bought this :)

  • Kinda missed the comparison to Traffic Giant here, otherwise good review

  • They should add another City to the game (as the hardest level): Bucharest. The hardest city to get decent transportation in. XD

  • @Vampireslayer003 They should also had a crap load more of vehicles in to increase variety and (maybe) instead of just transporting passengers in city maps, they include maps which span the size of countries (same size as a large map, but with smaller looking cities if you know what I mean, like Industry Giant) where you can also transport materials... I don't know, it just needs more of everything to keep me interested.

I've played the game for about 13 hours and I have stopped.

  • Going to buy it cause im a huge fan of Chris Sawyer's Locomotion

  • Can u send police and stuff to calls?

  • I started playing it yesterday, it has an awesome ambient and feeling. I just love watching my trams twisting between the buildings or the people walking around in those beautifully detailed moving cities :D However the massive traffic jams and the breaking down vehicles (even wehen repair costs are set to maximum) are really annoying. :S Your only chance is to build subways... anyway maybe i have to learn more to play better. It is really worth it :D

  • I was wary about this game. I thought it could be just some generic Transport Tycoon Update (like most games are). But this review made me buy it. Seems interesting enough to spend £10 on ^_^

  • Anyone care to explain exactly what you do in this game? I'm still a bit lost. Too used to how Sim City works.

  • I thought this was an IGN review until I realized you knew what you were talking about.

  • BTW, thats a good review!

  • Its the game I ever wanted to play! Its like trafficgiant 2 in 3D

  • Being Finnish, it's nice to see game from Finland too. There aren't so many. Only Max Payne, Alan Wake and FlatOut comes to my mind.

  • ign and gamespot, please hire this guy to review games pls

  • yeay finnish game 50% :D!

  • Sir, what system do you use that your game is running so smoothly? Also, what did you use to record the video, FRAPS?

  • @SwargoL I used Core i7 2.66 GHZ, 6 GB RAM, EVGA Geforce GTX 460 1 GB. Yes, Fraps was used.

  • can you play in berlin in 1945?

  • 60 likes and no dislikes, thats what i like to see...

  • @zeljkothegreekserb Not anymore hehe

  • Does trams and buses lines have to be circle or i can make line to one way then return ??

  • @KillerWatermelon1 Ooooh. lol. Had me confused for a while there, but no worries. I'm guilty of misreading tons of shit on the net :P

  • I want this game really bad

  • @KillerWatermelon1 ....what?

  • this game is a lot of fun!

the graphics looks nice and happy!

  • The carrier making skidmarks out of the harbour was funny xD 0:35

  • where are the people with guns killing aliens jk lol

  • Might pick it up if its not too pricey, but it doesn't look like there is enough customisation of the city itself, your just building a network on top of a already completed city which kinda sucks.

  • @001Neal100 You can build your own custom maps / cities completely from scratch. There's a demo tou today.

  • Looks like updated Transport Tycoon (excellent game!)

  • @Dedasen or Traffic Giant

  • ElderGeek is like my "Oprah" in gaming xD

  • And again an excellent review!

I admit im not a big fan of this kind of games ( tycoon, Cities XL etc...)

  • Great game, it doesn't beat Sim City though, even if it is kind of different types of games.

  • Love the reviews guys!

  • you guys review games so much better than ign and gamespot.

  • @danw087 Pretty low bar you've got there. IGN and Gamespot have been horrible for a long time now. I miss Greg Kasavin.

  • @danw087 IGN and Gamespot are in the publishers' back pockets

  • @danw087 totally agree, it's a good review :) sad part it's i haven't see a score :(

  • @eriolsama Elder-Geek's rating system is based on "worth buying", "worth renting/trying", and "don't bother".

  • @danw087

i can't agree with you more

  • @danw087 but not better that GT :D

  • Another good review, guys. Shame this isn't a game genre I like..I get bored of them quickly XD

  • @Oxcide play these types at 3am when your brain is mush, toke some bowls too
