XD well let me claer this up Anime wise: there is Ginga Nagaraboshi Gin (the anime that features Gin, weeds father) Then the sequel is Ginga Densetsu Weed. they don't have anyother sequels or prequels but in the manga they give a 6 chapter story about riki.THE END =D

Yeah, It would be good with a female character. What I really don't like is that they have'nt presented Rydia.She's a character in the manga in another story arc. She's a german shepherd, but looks alot like Weed thanks to the silver fur. She's Jeromes love interest.

I believe it's a joke from Yoshihiro Takahasi. After the anime many people got obsessed with the idea of Jerome being gay. And all of them believed in JeromexWeed things. Rydia probably got the similar design to Weed because of that, as joke from his side:)
