As I recall, Romania was a Roman province back in the day called Dacia, heavily populated by intermarriage between the locals and the Romans, which would account not only for the Latin based sound of the language as well as...well the name of the country lol.

No disrespect meant, but you really should know that Rome is a city not a country. And it's not even in France but in Italy. It's possible that she's speaking some kind of Roman Italian, but I'm almost positive it's French. The fact that Nadia is religiously orthodox and takes her faith seriously doesn't explain why a Mexican or maybe Italian woman is attending what is obviously a Baptist church.

Okay, I'm not coming on here claiming to be some kind of geography map master, but I do know that Rome is in Italy and not next to Russia. I was completely wrong to say that Rome is not a country because the small nation of Vatican City is in Rome, which is probably where Nadia's Mexican parents worked and what you mean when you talk about "Romania". Still why call Nadia a Romanian instead of just a Roman? That is like calling a German person a Germanion or Germaner. Keep things simple, I say.
