i think that the problem of the gurkhas coming into the uk and not being able to do enough due to the language barriers which means someone they need to look after to come in too, will be solved if they just increased their pension back home,but they don't. my grandfather was also one of the Gurkhas, and i am currently being educated in here, which i am very thankful for. i will live up to our grandfathers' name and do my share for the world.
It's truly sad how easily the British government can forget and discard loyal brave people, who fought hard so that they may live in comfort and luxury pushing pens in their air conditioned offices. I was medically discharged from the USMC due to an injury sustained from shrapnel. At the time of unification Basnets, Thapa, Pandey (all of them chettri) were the majority cast group in the military including gurungs and others who were very limited. But now majority of gurungs and mongolians join British army whereas chettris join Nepal army. so world may have misunderstood gurkhas as mongolians only.

i think that the problem of the gurkhas coming into the uk and not being able to do enough due to the language barriers which means someone they need to look after to come in too, will be solved if they just increased their pension back home,but they don't. my grandfather was also one of the Gurkhas, and i am currently being educated in here, which i am very thankful for. i will live up to our grandfathers' name and do my share for the world.

It's truly sad how easily the British government can forget and discard loyal brave people, who fought hard so that they may live in comfort and luxury pushing pens in their air conditioned offices. I was medically discharged from the USMC due to an injury sustained from shrapnel. I can't even imagine how tough it must be for these Gurkha soldiers to not be given the same treatment and respect as their fellow servicemen and women. If I were in their situation I don't know if I could be as strong

Good Lord! I had no idea. I am a US navy veteran. I worked along side many who joined our military and all were granted citizenship. Mexicans, Philippinos, Portuguese, and Many others. And they were not the fighters that the Gurkhas are.

@Imrankniazi ya bro ofcourse. Gurkhas means people from Gorkha in Nepal from where unification of Nepal started. My cast is basnet (chettri) and my native home is gorkha. At the time of unification Basnets, Thapa, Pandey (all of them chettri) were the majority cast group in the military including gurungs and others who were very limited. But now majority of gurungs and mongolians join British army whereas chettris join Nepal army. so world may have misunderstood gurkhas as mongolians only.

What COMPLETELY appals me is that some of these Gurkhas earned the Victoria Cross and they are still denied visa or entry to live in the United Kingdom. Now the British Gurkhas have got their UK citizenship which they rightly deserved,
it is matter of time that we Nepalese and not as Gurkhas demand our territory return back to Nepal(Treaty of Seguli in 1816) which Nepal lost 2/3 of its territory which India is in possession now. UK never return back our land when it gave India it's independence and left Indian sub-continent for good.
If needed, Nepalese should bring this issue to the UN and World's Court.
