Its so weird to see this guys older brother at stods in bellevue wash. You can only imagine the bitterness, Little brother in the league, you makin' $12 an hour Ouch!
thanks for the video. its a beautiful thing to watch. so intriguing! sf chronicle has a great article about how his pitching mechanics were invented by his dad, a boeing enginner
I seen him at the phillies game and hes the only player that really stood out to me. I dont watch baseball at all, I just happened to go to that game and now every once in a while I watch tim linecum pitch. Hes so good. In person hes amazing
@unconquered1018 haha i was there to that game on the fourth bad ass game. the should of kept him in he was killin em. i was up and left field 2 rows back. giants and lincecum rule
im kind of dreading the pitch where he has too much lag and he isnt able to recover quickly enough and a line drive pounds back at him. I dont know if that can happen, but still...
You know, his motion isn't violent at all, is it? You don't see anything being forced or strained, no pushing the ball with big muscles. It's twirly, that's all. Like a fan. Once the axle is turning, all the blades just follow through. Not that anybody should try this at home.
I'm a Phillies fan so obviously Hamels is my favorite pitcher but if I could pick anyone else to watch for the day it would be this kid. Absolutely electric stuff.
best pitcher ever. nd r staff is gonna b loaded: franchise(lincecum), cain, sanchez, bumgarner, nd i guess zito since hes getting better nd nobody will trade for him. nd way to go tyler walker gave up lincecum's win tonight
Are you talking about that game against Arizona when Lincecum struck out 13 batters? I was there. I'm a Diamondbacks fan, but that should have been Tim's game. He works so hard for the Giants and time after time his relievers let him down.
now, the giants just need a solid bat other than arron rowand, now ellison and lewis are getting there, but they still need a consistant hardball hitter, and they will be a real force to recon with
Bowker, Franny, Lewis, Posey (sooner or later) and in the (very) future guys like Noonan and Villalona. Doesn't look bad but we just need to hang on to them.
I'm built almost exactly like Lincecum--5'10, not quite 170. And that just makes the stuff he throws look all the more insane to me.

At 0:38, look his landing foot ankle. He's passed 6' stride on a warm-up... Some pitchers do that at full power...

dude i have the same mechanics as him and im in little league - hes awsome
blakeskate33 2 years ago
Well, if you use an uncoiling action ,a long stride, a good back bend and go over the top much like him, it's a good thing.
But, if oyu try to copy him and it feels unatural and you are chaotic through your delivery, it's not a good thing.
Copy the key parts, not the motion.

websterish 3 years ago 8
i am actually trying to perfect his mechanics
ballin648 3 years ago
A violent motion... Violent liek powerful, hard, with insane acceleration. He does have a very violent motion.
He's warming up, but in a real game you'd see what I mean.
As he bases his swing on rotation, what is violent is the acceleration gained through his uncoiling when he lands.
Violence here is about rapid acceleration.
