Great song. A lot of his work has been used widely in movies. Star Wars, Saw, Black Swan. He has real talent which is not seen to often today (in the classical genre of course.)
I don't care if in a couple of hundred years people don't remember movies like "Requiem for a Dream" or "Inception", I just hope they remember men like Clint Mansell and Hans Zimmer

I think there is no reason not to consider Clint Mansell as important as Bach, Mozart, Beethoven. He is the modern day musical genius. Mozart in essence was writing soundtracks for operas. Mansell's melodies are as powerful as any significant piece of music ever written
@emouch1 I couldn't agree more. This song is just as emotionally moving as the Fur Elise(my favorite classical piece). It is moving and strong and brilliant and perfect.
@emouch1 They all seem REALLY similar. I mean, REALLY similar!! The others you mentioned are incredibly dynamic but Mansell seems to be writing one song.
@fghkgujk You assume that Clint Mansell makes the phenomenal music that he does with the help of machines? That's just insulting. Mansell stands out above the rest because of his musical talent, not because he knows how to work the programs the best. There are thousands upon thousands of people in the world who know how to use music software, but how many of them have anywhere near the talent or respect of Clint Mansell? I understand your point, but I think you're wrong.
Mozart began this song with Saliari, But Mozart was in depression, and was heavily drinking, and was turning poor, and his last performance he passed out . Waking up . To Saliari, Mozart, lying sick in bed, decided to make the most dramatic Baroque song known to man . Saliari helped Mozart create this . Sadly, Mozart went to sleep, and never woke up . And was buried in a Poppers Grave (A grave for poor people who cant afford a tombstone) Clint Mansel finished the song from what Mozart had .
One of the most powerful scores I've ever heard, Clint Mansell is at the same league with Beethoven and Mozert, He is one of the best composers we have now along with king of kings Hans Zimmer, James Newton Howard, Howard Shore.
Actually this song is just the original one which was to be heard in the movie called Requiem for a Dream. Those who say this music makes them sad i can't understand... it makes me stronger , i can feel the pulse of my hearth and soul both.
@rieesj It's for everyone like that though. Everyone has a different reception for music. I for example think about th etime when I found out about the song, thing about a certain person and how beautiful the time was. Yet right now I'm really sad when I listen to it, but not because the song is that sad (I mean it is - it's brilliant) and it's not negative - I really like it. It's just kinda overwhelming.
"It's so beautiful that it hurts" - is my description for songs like that.
Wouldnt this be an Arangement rather then a Composed piece since it was originaly composed by Motzart but called 'Lux aeterna' , later named Requiem For A Dream?
this movie made an impact on my so deep only my friend that i watched it it with at 6 am can imagine, , i will never forget that moment. Jared Leto creates an absolutely amazing character, as well as Connelly, but Ellen Burstyn made me cry like a baby, big fan of this film
And so did marlon waynes. He was spot on with the character from the book by Hubert selby jr. Both of them were. And Ellen Burstyn was by far the most amazing and Jennifer Connelly is absolutely gorgeous.
I completely disagree. I thought this movie has some of the best acting in it. Even though they aren't all completely well-known actors, they prove that even lesser known people can do phenomenal as well.
