yes but have you stopped to think that it might be kinder sometimes to not let a horse with a broken leg suffer further with 6 months of cross-tied box rest, operations, painful foundering of the undamaged leg and no guarantee of survival at the end...and you can't explain to a horse why it is going through all of this. I've seen fit TB's cross-tied for months and it is not pleasant. many of them just lose it after a few weeks, snap their leg in two and then have to be euthanased anayway.

Under the EU welfare in transport regulation, it would be ILLEGAL to transport a horse with a broken leg in connection with an economic activity (ie slaughter). There is an exemption if the horse is being transported to a veterinary practice for treatment. Not sure where your info comes from - are you from the UK/EU?

I am against horses which are whipped to make them go faster, and when they don't win enough, are sent to the slaughterhouse. If the races were without whipping, it would not seem like a cruel sport.

My horse is an ex racehorse (alive and well may i add).
He loves galloping and racing.
Watch the vid response and see just how much he loves to run.
He steeplechased and never fell or injured himself.
Most that fall get up and live.
