Another nice job!!! Your videos are very helpful. As someone listed, I too would like to see a video on sharping my gouges, skews, scrapers and parting tools. Carl again thanks.
awesome video. i love it. i get on here everyday to see if you have any new videos. i love watching these videos. they help me so much with my woodturning!
Love the different angels, in fact I was doing exactly the same thing with a few videos with the slow motion but it didn't turn out that great as your shots did!
Thanks Nic. I am going to try and do all of them like this from now on. Try bumping up the frame rate on your camera and it will help with the slow motion and good lighting.
@haydenHD Well every enclosure is different so it may take a little trial and error. I think the first basic option would be to line the inside with just felt from a craft store. Since the enclosure you made is kind of large, I'd stuff some sort of speaker insulation to fill up some of the space inside. You may notice that the sound is kind of "hollow", this is because the resonances of the driver are bouncing around, the felt should absorb these resonances and give you a clean and "full" sound.
Lastly, if you find that felt and speaker insulation doesn't help, the next step would be to line the inside with Dynamat Extreme. The reason I'd say to try this last is because it's fairly expensive and if you add too much to you're project it can deaden the resonances so much that it also deadens the sound. It's most commonly used on cars to deaden the noise outside of cars while inside the car and also deaden the vibration noise caused by speakers and subwoofers.
what type of wood is that?

Thank you,
I can make a set but I would need you to provide the speakers and they need to be 4" or smaller.
Take care,

Good vid, Carl. I like the different camera angles. Although I imagine that is a lot more hassle for you to do, it IS nice. Thanks.

Thats awesome Carl! Just make sure to line the inside of the cup with proper damping material so the speaker will sound good.
bigrock212121 1 year ago
Thank you. Can you tell me what some good damping material might be? I'm a wood guy, not sound guy.
Thanks,
