Magomayev should not sing something with English lyrics. He doesn't understand about what sings only shows his great vocal, here a singer has to feel the lyrics. Magomayev doesn't. 'My Way' was sung by Magomayev even worse.

Thank you for this record! I often had the chance and honour to be invited to the concerts by Muslim Magamaev and to listen to him, who used to be not only a great singer, a very nice person, but also a friend to me.

Muslim Magomaev was graduated as opera singer, but he preferred pop songs vs classical repertoire. Once he said that his dream was to get some lessons from Frank Sinatra.

Some of Magomaev's fans call him "Russian Elvis" (but he wasn't native russian, he was azerbaijanian)

His name is Muslim Magomaev. He was one of the best Soviet Union`s singer and cult figure on USSR popular stage.

Thanks for warm words, Ilalfisto, unfortunately due to Soviet prohibitions lots of singers from former USSR didn't have a chance to be opened by world audience.

But Muslim has a good background, he studied in Italy, in famous La Scala Theatre. U can visit his homepage (english & Russian versions) if you wish.
