@americanliberal09 No, this is not black metal, it's a precursor though. Venom's Black Metal sort of defined the first wave of black metal, though they were not the only one. Hellhammer cum Celtic Frost also engender the first wave, and Sarcofago and Bathory. The second wave came from Norway, with the church burnings and all, but great music too. Bands like Mayhem, Emperor, Enslaved, Darkthrone, etc.

Witchfinder General were a brilliant band, those two original albums and the Soviet Invasion ep, essential stuff! The Live 83 album is great too. They also had one of the most killer guitar tones of all time, along with Sabbath, Pentagram and early Celtic Frost.

I recall them finishing off their performance by adding the main riff to HEAVEN AND HELL to the ending of their last song.

The Sab's album had only been out a few months - I was so chuffed they done that!
