hi, i enjoy your videos but i love your pictures most. There's something about stills that speak louder than motion pictures. Nina brings joy to many, thanks for sharing these moments with us.
Your videos of Nina make me want to start my own family... She's so beautiful and adorable, and she seems like such a smart, fun, happy child. She gives me hope that my children will be smart, fun and happy too.
You simply have the most beautiful child. She is precious. I never had kids but I would've prayed to have such a lovely little girl like your Nina. It's such a comfort to know there are such loving parents to take care of such a sweet, intelligent girl. You are all so lucky. <3
@katherenann Thank you! We do feel very fortunate to have Nina in our lives. You sound like you would be an adoring mother. Are you definitely not going to have children now? I was 39 when Nina was born, so it's not something you have to do while you are young.
@geofg Thank you for the compliment. To be honest, I would have loved to be a mom if I'd ever met the right guy. I was a nanny for 6 years and a preschool teacher as well. I absolutely adore kids. But, I'll be 39 this year, so it might be too late. At least I can take solace in the fact that there are good families out there like yours. :)
By the way, mind if you share something? Toddlers at her age usually get very stubborn and rebellious. How do you and your wife work on it? You guys just talk it out with a 3 yo or what? Seems to me that love is the formula in your family, would be very happy if you would share tips on teaching rules to her.
If you write book, I will be the first to buy :) Your family is such an inspiration.
This is my first comment in youtube since I were a member :)
@hbustami2004 ha ha Thanks! My wife would be better at writing a book about parenting. She reads books about it and thinks about it. I just do what feels right at the time. Of course, we scold Nina and have arguments and get frustrated sometimes. But, we try to always explain to Nina WHY we have these rules, and when Nina calms down, she usually understands. Also, we, as parents, have to admit when WE are wrong or get too angry. And, we always make up with a hug.
So that's the recipe :) My son is also a verbal one. He tries to negotiate everything from morning till dawn, cheeky and full of tricks. We also explain to him why there are rules in the house but most of the time he would answer back like : "mom, why you so stubborn telling me to sit down? i've told you 3 times i dont wanna sit and i never choke up on my food". The second you tell him not to put something in mouth, that very second he would gobble it and he makes sure u see it.
Please keep uploading the story of your family for it inspired so many ppl around the world about parenting. Touch my heart so deeply, teach me more than any kind of parenting book :) I believe Nina has the richest childhood anyone can dream of.
such a wonderful family & Nina..she's soooooooooadorable!! I keep watching many of your videos & photos which mostly made me cry with happiness, big smile & laugh. Thank you so much for sharing. It's precious & memorable.
@DarkWingDeDe haha..i am thinking of the same question too!!=) wondering how will she react when the full caring and loving attention she get now divided with someone else..
your little girl is beautiful she will be happy to see all that memories in 20 years. with ur videos my passion for japan grow up (im french and i'm learning japanese). i would have liked to have my both parents talking to me in two differents language.
@liltyss Yeah, Nina is lucky in that way, having exposure to two languages from birth. Learning a second language when you're older is much harder. (I started learning Japanese when I was 32.) Good luck with your Japanese studies!
@nytemyst09 Thanks so much! That's such a nice comment. I'm sorry your mother couldn't figure out the technology to have more of a record of your childhood. My mother doesn't have much of me, either, but I grew up in the pre-digital age, so I can't really blame her. Do you have, or are you planning to make a family of your own?
I join the art club once in a while. I've gotten so busy lately after school I haven't gone since before the holidays! But the teaching is going well, I really enjoy junior high. Most of my students are good kids : )
geoff i miss nina :( how is she?.hope your family is fine. when is the next video of nina? cant wait for it lol. i love the picturess if only i can have it hahaha..take care :* thank you for sharing..god bless..

Nina papa, you really did a good job on taking Nina's precious photos~ well done! She should be you and your wife's most precious diamond :) my friends love Nina too when i'm using her photos on my presentation! :D she's so sweet...
Funny how a different person makes the same comment as I, but in Japanese (笑) So in Japan it's known as Kiss Digital, but Digital Rebel in other in places. Kiss Digital sounds a lot nicer to be honest!
I do have a 300 GB external HD. I used to burn my pictures etc. onto DVDs, but my DVD burner broke. You had two HD failures in 6 months?!
As for Nina's mixed ethnicity, so far I think it is not much of an issue at her daycare. The other kids are all curious about me when I pick her up and wonder if she can speak English, but she is shy about using it around them. They treat her normally, though. When she gets older, it may be more of an issue.
beautiful photos, beautiful memories =D I love them. Nina is really growing up fast. I was wondering how you got that really pretty warm orangy glow on your photos, did you use any special attachment for your lenses when you took the pictures? Or is there any trick to it? Its just the glow I've been trying to get for these type of photos =), however I haven't had much luck.

Sometimes I add warmth by using the "warmth" controller in my iPhoto software. I also have some filters called Nic Filters that work with photoshop that have options like "warmth". I'm not sure if they make them anymore, but they are a type of "actions", programs that utilize photoshop's functions in particular sequences to create certain effects. Some actions are free, and some you have to pay for.
Does looking at your childhood photos spur childhood memories for you? I remember very little of my own childhood, so I am hoping that these photos and videos will help Nina to remember hers.
my favorite one is yukata part! she's soooo beautiful with it. hmm,,, I want yukata,, nina's yukata is sooo stylish! my best regard for nina.. mr.geofg, I wanna learn about photography.. I interest about it this last month.. and yours is so amazing pictures.. :) do you learn by yourself?
I took a photography class in high school, but yeah, mostly I have just taken a LOT of photos and over time have figured out what I like. If you are interested in photography, just get a decent camera and start taking lots and lots of pictures and you will find your own style.
Balance of both is fine..for me, i appreciate both too. my bf is a fulltime photographer and from him, i learn to appreciate pictures as they speak of themselves. As for videos, im more of a video person because i love watching them back to reminisce.
I've been watching nina's video since i cant even remember when, i have to say she is blessed to have this family. dont mind me asking something personal, is she gonna get any siblings in the future? :D
@geofg yes. he's a fulltime photographer. Most of the times he takes wedding pictures and majority includes some media production company. Haha he always give us this quote, "how can i not love my job if its my hobby". Lucky guy isnt it.
I've said it before, and will say it again - Nina is the most BEAUTIFUL child I have ever seen! I absolutely ADORE her! This video was phenomenal! (But then again, they all are!) And, the ending photo was just priceless! Much love!
Thanks so much! It's just my humble (biased) opinion as a father, but I think the "beauty" in Nina's photos is due to the fact that her goofy, affectionate personality always shows in her expressions.
My Geofg, What a lovely girl you've got there. As always, impeccable photos. I really love the contrast in every still, and I love how you capture Nina-chan's dynamic expressions in almost every picture. Thanks for sharing~
Thanks, I always appreciate your opinions. As you know, photography is my real passion (more than the videos), but I worry people will get bored if I put up too many photos.
ahhh, sankyuu~ However, I really don't think you need to worry about that. Besides, if people do become disinterested (which I'm sure is not the case) they can always watch other videos. ;D So please, keep those lovely photos coming!!!
Beautiful photos Geof. You can really see Nina growing up in such a short amount of time. You must be really proud of your family Geof, you have such a lovely one :D I wish you and your family the absolute best. Thank you for sharing as always.
I always feel creepy watchin some other dude's kid on youtube, but she's just too freaking cute to resist. Anytime the front page recommends me one of these I am powerless to look away. She reminds me a lot of my little sister at that age.
She's still very short (4' 11") despite being 23, but just like she didn't then, she doesn't let her size hold her back. She's just as loud, boisterous and rambunctious as she was when we were kids. She easily overpowers (in more ways than one) people twice her size (which most people are, haha). Despite this larger than life persona crammed into that tiny body she's also quite a nice person. Very much a girl. In the loving and nurturing sense.
Let it be known that initially I was referring to just physical appearance. The dark hair and eyes, the overall face structure. They look very similar.
Also, from what I can gather in this video (and the others), they both seem to share an affinity for hamming it up when a camera is near.
The poses.
The comfort with being recorded/photographed.
And again, those qualities still remain to this day.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Geofg, its time for u to make some money dude..i see those nina photos after u edited and i realize something- why dont u make small business maybe like calender year 2010 or even a poscard for Nina's fans? put a link to order for us to purchase. Why? I dont see why not??!
this video reminded me of how brave nina is. I know that I wouldn't be able to how a crawdad or a grasshopper like that without looking terrified when I was her age! The best thing about the pics in my opinion is that she looks genuinely happy in most of the pictures. Oh, and that last pic really put a smile on my face. (=
Ha ha. You CAN see some tension in Nina's face in both of the pictures where she is holding small creatures. She's trying to smile, but in both cases, she was telling me to hurry up as I tried to get the focus right, etc., especially with the crawdad, which kept trying to reach back and pinch her. After that photo, a friend of hers got pinched by a crawdad and cried, so I'm not sure if Nina will ever hold one again.
idk if it's just youtube, but my comment wouldn't show up, so I tried a couple more times, but nothing happened (at least I don't think so..?) so I might've spammed a bit.. it wasn't my intention though =P
Only this one message got through, so no spamming to worry about. I've had other people tell me they couldn't leave a message here as well. I don't know if that's a glitch in YT in general, or something about this channel.
With the music, this video is indeed an emotional one. Watching Nina grow is such a joy! At some point in the future, I'm sure that Nina chan would be 'ureshi' to have all of these beautiful moments in her childhood documented by mum & dad. =)
Ha ha. Yeah, there's certainly no lack of documentation of Nina's life so far. I can hardly remember my own early childhood, but I think Nina will be able to remember hers quite well.
What kind of lens do you use? I love the photos!

my favorite one is yukata part! she's soooo beautiful with it. hmm,,, I want yukata,, nina's yukata is sooo stylish! my best regard for nina.. mr.geofg, I wanna learn about photography.. I interest about it this last month.. and yours is so amazing pictures.. :) do you learn by yourself?
mejikuhibiniu12 2 years ago 2
I took a photography class in high school, but yeah, mostly I have just taken a LOT of photos and over time have figured out what I like. If you are interested in photography, just get a decent camera and start taking lots and lots of pictures and you will find your own style.

Olala, I wish I had the same camera! I takes amazing pictures! The one of Nina with her yukata is definitely my favourite! Yukata is so elegant!
Aw, and the one in the park (with the yellow flower) it reminds me of a picture of myself when I was four, almost exactly the same! O_o
Jusdepommerose 2 years ago
Did you have a flower in your hair in your 4 year old picture as well?
geofg 2 years ago
Hmmm I think it was a white and ellow one! A daisy, maybe!

gracesupang 2 years ago
What kind of photos does your bf take? Does he make a living doing photography? I'm jealous!
As for siblings, unfortunately we can't have any more children unless we adopt, but Nina keeps us plenty busy.
geofg 2 years ago
@geofg yes. he's a fulltime photographer. Most of the times he takes wedding pictures and majority includes some media production company. Haha he always give us this quote, "how can i not love my job if its my hobby". Lucky guy isnt it.

Wonderful! Such a lovely child and so blessed to have you and her mom as her parents.

I've said it before, and will say it again - Nina is the most BEAUTIFUL child I have ever seen! I absolutely ADORE her! This video was phenomenal! (But then again, they all are!) And, the ending photo was just priceless! Much love!
sherribabe 2 years ago
Thanks so much! It's just my humble (biased) opinion as a father, but I think the "beauty" in Nina's photos is due to the fact that her goofy, affectionate personality always shows in her expressions.
geofg 2 years ago
Beautiful video.
I remember seeing some of these shots in past videos. So you also have video to give some context to the pictures. Very cool.

Your love shines through those amazing pictures and magical music. I wish, one day, I will have such a beautiful family myself ^__^

My Geofg, What a lovely girl you've got there. As always, impeccable photos. I really love the contrast in every still, and I love how you capture Nina-chan's dynamic expressions in almost every picture. Thanks for sharing~

Thanks, I always appreciate your opinions. As you know, photography is my real passion (more than the videos), but I worry people will get bored if I put up too many photos.
geofg 2 years ago
ahhh, sankyuu~ However, I really don't think you need to worry about that.

MisterVish 2 years ago 3
Ha ha. That begs the question: What is your little sister like now?
geofg 2 years ago
Well let's see...
Not too much has changed.
MisterVish 2 years ago
Let it be known that initially I was referring to just physical appearance. The dark hair and eyes, the overall face structure. They look very similar.
Also, from what I can gather in this video (and the others), they both seem to share an affinity for hamming it up when a camera is near.
The poses.
The comfort with being recorded/photographed.
And again, those qualities still remain to this day.
MisterVish 2 years ago
Ha ha. You're right that Nina is a ham. Your sister sounds like a powerful, but nice little lady, so I'm flattered by your comparison of Nina to her!

So very lovely.

this video reminded me of how brave nina is. I know that I wouldn't be able to how a crawdad or a grasshopper like that without looking terrified when I was her age! The best thing about the pics in my opinion is that she looks genuinely happy in most of the pictures. Oh, and that last pic really put a smile on my face. (=
loegdberg 2 years ago
Ha ha. You CAN see some tension in Nina's face in both of the pictures where she is holding small creatures. She's trying to smile, but in both cases, she was telling me to hurry up as I tried to get the focus right, etc., especially with the crawdad, which kept trying to reach back and pinch her. After that photo, a friend of hers got pinched by a crawdad and cried, so I'm not sure if Nina will ever hold one again.
geofg 2 years ago
idk if it's just youtube, but my comment wouldn't show up, so I tried a couple more times, but nothing happened (at least I don't think so..?) so I might've spammed a bit.. it wasn't my intention though =P
loegdberg 2 years ago
Only this one message got through, so no spamming to worry about. I've had other people tell me they couldn't leave a message here as well. I don't know if that's a glitch in YT in general, or something about this channel.
geofg 2 years ago
With the music, this video is indeed an emotional one. Watching Nina grow is such a joy! At some point in the future, I'm sure that Nina chan would be 'ureshi' to have all of these beautiful moments in her childhood documented by mum & dad. =)
revorichie 2 years ago 2
Ha ha. Yeah, there's certainly no lack of documentation of Nina's life so far. I can hardly remember my own early childhood, but I think Nina will be able to remember hers quite well.
