cant believe i forgot about this song ! Love eartha kitt - she did a lot for human rights and deserves to be remebered with respect. r.i.p miss Kitt xxx
Incredible song, really incredible song. Her voice was -IS- so incredible. I wonder why you don`t hear those voices today on the radio.. maybe the taste of people have become a bit... less interesting, I`d say.
I love this song, especially when she sings "Show her love from a different angle..." which could be interpreted in many ways. As a matter of fact the whole song could be discribed as exercise in making love from a different angle.
I purchased this song as a 12" vinyl in London in October 1987. The copy I have is a "white label" pressing with no graphics or artwork and was sold as a promo pressing. Handwritten on the label is "Magic Carpet Ride," which I'll assume is the actual title. I have never seen this recording commercially released, and if it was, is probably quite obscure and rare. Anyone else have info on this rather unique recording?
this is from the same album of disco songs produced by Jacques Morali & recorded in 1980, but unfortunately, not released until '84 after the disco era was long gone. the tempo was too slow to compete with the hiNRG dance music of the period, so it was a commercial failure. not that obscure, really. its available on cd on several compilations AND the original LP tracklist which also includes where is my man, i dont care & this is my life. good luck!
Eartha a class act that kept her beauty even up to the graceful age of 81. A lodestar for me the chawbacon of her days even up to today. Famous not just for being a touchstone in dance and style with grace but; videlicet, acting, outspokenness, a natural gift in leadership, strong drive with a conciliatory personality and look. Kickshaw of the world with an ineffable presence that made many gock and stare filled with joy inside. Ertha will be remembered, missed and is un-replaceable! xoxoxo
This song is fantastic

The sessions of I love Men were recorded in 1983, and released throughout 1983/84.
Both Where Is My Man and I Love Men the two lead releases from the I love Men album were both number 1 in the Hi NRG chart, as was This Is My Life.
The whole project far from being a commercial failure earnrd Eartha a gold record and chart placings all across Europe.
The many remixes of Where Is My Man and This Is My Life continue to keep Eartha's disco material alive.
