i know i am gonna catch heat for what i am about to say but honestly boise got lucky to get a W in this game. i honestly believe VT was the better team and would win 3 out of 4 games played. i mean VT shot themselves in the foot in the first quarter and fell behinf 17-0 but for the next 3 quaters VT dominated both sides of the ball and outscored Boise 30-10 until the last drive of the game. Boise is a good team. You dont have to go through an SEC schedule to be good. No they wouldn't be undefeated in the SEC, but neither would Oregon or any other school from the other major conferences. 1:05 was maybe my favorite part of the game. Pettis catches a big first down on 3rd down, and gets crushed by a celebrating Hokie. Pettis calmly hands him the ball that he just caught for a first down, and jogs back to the huddle! Classic!

Boise State is a crazy good football team. Their conference is weak, but that doesn't negate their talent. They're also leaving the WAC after this year to join the Mountain West conference.
Ever since coach Peterson took over in 2006, Boise State is 6-1 against the BCS teams that have had the misfortune of facing them, including Oregon (who they beat twice), Oklahoma, and TCU.
Their D smothers and swarms, and their QB Moore flat out embarasses defensive secondaries. They're the real deal.

Them joining the MWC is not going to make any difference, that's weak! Join a real conference and you'll get respect, end of story!

@rawdawg440 I love people like you who talk like its BSU's choice at what conference they are in. A team has to be INVITED to a BCS conference. If the Pac 10/Big 12 sent an invite BSU would accept in seconds. Its hard for BSU to join a BCS conference due to their geographical location. The nearest BCS conference, the PAC-10 doesnt want BSU because of academics, and BSU is too far away from the Big 12's footprint. If BSU was on the east coast they'd be a prime candidate for Big East expansion.

Boise is a good team. You dont have to go through an SEC schedule to be good. No they wouldn't be undefeated in the SEC, but neither would Oregon or any other school from the other major conferences. We need a playoff, but it will never happen because there is too much money to be made with our current system. You can play a terrrible schedule. If you're good you're good................Ask Butler's basketball team. didn't they play in a high school conference and go to the final four??

I really wish Boise State would have lost this game at the beginning of the season. Now we have to listen to how "good" they are and how much they "deserve" a chance for the title. If they want ANY respect schedule some tougher out of conference teams. Heck Hoover high school could beat New Mexico State (1-5) or San Jose St. (1-6) or maybe even Wyoming (2-5). Boise doesn't play another ranked opponent the rest of the year regular season

@funroot so virginia duke wake forest and clemson are so much better then them? your an idiot. throughout the year the wac has been steadilly better kepp 3 teams in the top 25 for most of the year. the least they had was 2. the ACC on the other hand had 0 teams in the top 25 at one point. so consistently throughout the this year the wac has proven itself to be better.

@mmortal03 Nope. The hand isn't down, but the elbow would be. As long as he didn't use the ball against the ground to keep him from dropping, which he didn't, he's ok. It was a great play.

I have a feeling Boise State is going to be slightly overrated this season....dunno if you heard but VT lost to a D-2 school and isn't evne ranked anymore! Honeslty, Boise is good....but if they somehow make it to the BCS bowl game by going "undefeated" against shitty teams, i'm not sure if they'll be ready. Too bad they don't play in a better conference, their coaching is fantastic but they don't have the opponents to prepare them for the BIG ONE
