  • sight-reading ? ajajajajaj

  • Let's not forget he was a superhuman reader. I wouldn't be surprised to learn he hadn't prepared this to the extent other pianists would have and relied on his incredible brain on the day.

  • im a stoner

  • This is the way a brilliant musucian trifles.

  • This is an unbelievable mess. Technically mediocre

Please listen to richter and kissin

  • @gbshalev This is nothing compared to what some music sounds like. This is actually pretty good.

  • Astonishing! Ogdon was one of the greatest pianists in my opinion of the 20th century.

  • @sll10 In general, I'll agree Ogdon was a very great pianist, but THIS recording?? You must be kidding, it's a mess! For one thing, I don't think anyone could play it this fast. He certainly didn't manage it here, anyway.

  • @gtimny It's not a "mess". There are some inaccuracies in it but his greatness shows through and he could play it very well were he not medicated!

  • Amazing! Ogdon was a fucking genious! His Mephisto Waltz is impressive too!

  • ma è pazzo!?? O__O

  • frantic

  • On one hand, this is terrible - a real mess with loss of control everywhere - and yet on the other, this is prodigious. This genius performer proves that sometimes a very imperfect reading of the score is more interesting than more sedate technical perfection.

  • (???) stand for Presto

  • This is insane.

  • WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
