Someone who had several jobs at one point and basically built a parliamentary democracy and state insitutions necessary for the establishment of a sovereign state. There is no record of Arabs telling anyone to leave, plenty of records ordering them to remain where they were, which makes perfect sense considering.

Secondly the Suez Canal crisis prevented the movement of shipments for Israel and made them extremely vulnerable. Don't forget that Israel did most of the fighting and France only came as reinforcements towards the end.

@longdisturb So do you neglect the fact that many countries in the Middle-East are considered Islamic states which employ 'Sharia' law or the Islamic form of legislation? Contrastingly, although Israel is considered a 'Jewish state' it has a meticulous court system which serves society as a whole regardless of religious affiliation. And by the way, from an historical standpoint, the Jews have acculturated, assimilated and have attempted in great strides to live in other states.

Because they were denied from participating in the institutions which they admired in European culture and academics. They certainly lived in better conditions for a good portion of the last millenium compared to there European counterparts. Nevertheless, I wouldn't call it a peaceful relationship.

They played large roles culturally, socially and economically. The reason for the Jewish state is a derivative of prejudices against Jews and the fact that they were a minority in every region they resided. Israel, which is roughly 0.025% of the entire Middle-East region is the only place in which Jews have a majority.

There are sources which reveal that Arab armies requested the Palestinian population to leave the area in belief that they will be victorious. In addition, other Palestinians fled due to warfare in fear. Lastly, there were cases of explusion by right wing groups.

Absorbing 2-3 million immigrants in just 3-4 years is extremely difficult. In addition, Israel did not have the military and diplomatic support of the United States until 1967. Primary support came from France and Czechoslovakia at the time.

Also, for every Palestinian refugee, at least one Jewish refugee was created -- driven out of Arab and Iranian lands. Why are Jewish refugees no longer in existence today? Secondly the Suez Canal crisis prevented the movement of shipments for Israel and made them extremely vulnerable. Don't forget that Israel did most of the fighting and France only came as reinforcements towards the end.

I could refer to the War of Independence in 1948 were several Arab countries swore to destroy the state of Israel. Even Arabs understood this, and signed peace agreements (Egypt, Jordan). There were many Jewish refugees that came from Arab countries, and that's what Ben Gurion talked about.
