My boyfriend has a pet tarantula and I have extreme arachnophobia... I'm watching your videos to try and get over the initial fear I have. Wish me luck.
Hey rob, i got a rose hair and a pink toe, where i live its cold and i have a heat lamp for them, should i leave it on 24/7 or turn it off at nights? my room is not freezing but chilly.
congratulations Rob im happy they are alive and well. i get shipped to fort hood texas in a couple weeks hopefully they give me the chance to have my own pets. un less of course i deploy which is very likely. Afghanistan here i come
@Maniac221 Haha! If you think Rob is bringing in good money, you must be joking. With as much time, money and energy he's put into his T room, how much he's spent on his Ts and how much time he spends making videos and otherwise educating hobbyists to casual viewers, you must be kidding yourself.
Awe bless them =D I'm new to the hobby and I hope to own one of these beautiful P.metallicas when I have had more experience over the next couple of years =)
I can't wait for my local Bug Fest, where I aim to get a B.smithi and a Chaco Golden Knee from sling or juvi ^^ Although that won't stop me from trying to convince my mum to part from her N.chromatus X)
Even if people do breed just for the money(which Rob is not), who cares? As long as the T's are well taken care of then I dont see what the issue would be. And you know the T is gonna be well taken care of if someone pays $175 for it. If a T is worth $175 and people are lining up to pay $175, then you would be stupid to sell it for any less. And when all is said and done, it doesnt effect the T one bit...they have no clue how much they get sold for and they dont care.
By the way I had not read any of the previous reviews prior. I just keep up with your vids and info and those are some pretty spiders plain and simple. I want to buy some if your selling.
Rob are you selling these??? I'm in San Antonio Tx if you are selling I want to buy a few call me at 210-995-9953 plz leave a message if I do not pick up.
this guy doesnt do it for the money. he does it to get for the money he has a full time job. he does it to get the T in the hobby. so the prices well go down. This is a hobby for him. this is a hobby. why dont you guys go find someone else to bag on who breeds just for the money im sure theres alot of people out there who does it for the money. you know people do it because they love it.
Sorry it was not my intension to claim that Rob would do this only for the money... I was just wondering why metallicas are still so expensive in America... random offer for ya, would you be interested in a 4" G Pulchra? I really need to sell it and thought I would ask. Congrats on the sac! If i were brave enough for a Pokie I'd almost consider it!
I understand. I said yes, think only my opinion it is a pity that one is equal to soften, and is insulted by users. I also find it amazing that it worked with them since P.metallica are difficult to breed. So do not be angry with Rob for my comment
@Maniac221 your a fucking idiot . rob cares for his spiders more than anybody . it is never about the money with him . its about the experience and spreading the hobby to others . he is the 1 that got me hooked . stop commenting hater
Would you recommend a Greenbottle Blue for a beginner? I've already kept a B.smithi and H.minax for 2 months now. I've kept scorpions for 2 years now but tarantulas are something else.
Ok, im confused! Help me out guys - why do you have to open the sack again? Would it be a massive no go to let the babies hatch out with mom? Would she eat them or something? And what happend to those lil guys now? Do you kinda just raise them?? .. Im loving the vids btw Rob! Congrats! :) x
@Gemmaonyons Yes the mom may can & will eat the sack if she gets nervous, hungry, or for no apparent reason at all. Also mold can grow in the sack if conditions are not perfect, and if the mom doesnt roll it just right, the eggs may start sticking together. And trying to pull 100+ slings out an elaborate arboreal enclosure would be a nightmare, plus even arboreal slings tend to burrow so that would make it even more of a pain in the ass. Why even risk any of that with a $20,000 batch of slings..
@Malzanar duh wat did you think I was using? Its weird actually, it let's me play a lot of videos it's just certain ones that it says unavailable too. Its funny really, cuz it's always the vids I wanna see most. I think my iPad is just being a dick.
i will say i raised 2 from half inch slings. one died of mysterious causes but the other is about 5 inches. i got them like 9 months ago. they grow at rocket speed. its mind boggling how fast those grow.
@tarantulaguy1976 Man Rob, that's one expensive eggsac! You'll be rolling in dough soon enough! I know I would love a p.Metallica. I'll be looking out for the sales!
Love your videos, hav been watching and learning from them for sometime now I'm just a retard and didn't think to subscribe. Beautiful T as most gootys are but I hav a few quick questions to ask. First how much are you gonna sell these bad boys for after the proper instar? Second I recently picked up a avic from the Lexington reptile show and am wondering what is the best way to keep the heat up in the enclosure without a light? Jon3800 says to stay away from heat mats and you said lights putt
Congrats rob, it couldn't have happened at a better time, either. I hope you start feeling better soon, it's great to see you back in there. my sincere condolences to you and your family
Rob and Family: congrats on the metallicas!!!! Couldn't have happened to better people! Here's hoping the snow and stuff by passes you all completely-- we're bunkered in here in Jefferson City, getting ice now! Yuck!
@TheJaxxxon I don't agree at all. I sell T's and unless my time is worth nothing, most of the time selling T's is for pennies of profit if not in the negative. There are some that profit is possible but not with most unless you are a big name seller who sells a huge amount on a regular basis. Those of us that really don't make anything do for the love of the hobby. Robc I would say is one of those and I certainly am. Although if I could make a living at it, I would in a heart beat.
I feel happy for you but I'm jealous at the same time xD will you sell some of these? also, what's in the big tank (or is it an aquarium?) in the background?
Question though: why do you always use these small boxes in the center of a larger container when it comes to eggs or slings? I get the black colour, to contrast with the beige of the eggs.. but why the box in the first place? Why not put them in the bottom of a smaller container, for example...
@plithos It's a makeshift incubator. The black you see is just nylon stocking pulled over, and in the inside container there is some water to help with the humidity.
Please be more steady with the camera. Vids give me slight motion sickness. :-(

I feel happy for you but I'm jealous at the same time xD will you sell some of these? also, what's in the big tank (or is it an aquarium?) in the background?

Good work man!
Question though: why do you always use these small boxes in the center of a larger container when it comes to eggs or slings? I get the black colour, to contrast with the beige of the eggs.. but why the box in the first place? Why not put them in the bottom of a smaller container, for example...
thank you for sharing

@plithos It's a makeshift incubator. The black you see is just nylon stocking pulled over, and in the inside container there is some water to help with the humidity.
