  • OOOOH old times... sure do miss those day's. AWESOME Group!!

  • They should play for the 100th anniversary this year!

  • Whoa! Stampede needs to do an outdoor concerts at the grandstands!

  • is there banjo in this song?

  • aahhh...I was a young 22 years-old in 1971. What great memories. One of my all-time favorite songs. I was just listening to it on my cd that's why I came to you tube.

  • This song has gone out of my memory and I accidentally listened to the LIVE365, an online radio, that's the reason I surfed here. Thanks for uploading.

  • One of my all-time fave songs---"She feeds me love and tenderness and macaroons," best.line.ever.

  • cheers and happines to all jews

  • These guys were so unique. Their songs all have stood the test of time. These days you listen to a song for a few weeks and then you don't care if you ever hear it again. This is different it gets in your soul. April Wine is another example of timeless classic music. that never goes out of style.

  • if you look at the car in the parade it says 1974.....awesome thank you this is a huge part of my life and brings back so many memories.......

  • @TheKeeks1013 LOOK a little bit closer, the banner says "1971"!!!!! The year this gem was released!!!!

  • How the hell did they do this without a Banjo?

  • wish they had a real vid, like from a tv show. the overdub in this vid is too obvious.

  • @jesjammin Very true!

  • I remember first seeing The Stampeders open for The Osmond Brothers at The CNE, Toronto. /71?

  • One of the most fun songs of the 70's; I love it.

  • It was SO GOOD to have them come to show there talents and abilities In MELFORT,Sask! COOL!

  • Wow, never before has a band looked and sounded so Canadian!

  • I was 8 yrs old back in the day. My brother had all of their songs on vinyl.

  • I've seen this before with the actual live audio, but this version for some reason is just them lip syncing to the studio track. odd..

  • I love it! I was actually AT THIS SHOW! It was a Children's Day concert at the Calgary Stampede. I even remember the wet stage from the rain. The whole crowd sang along to this!

  • @Thunderbuck Could you give the date of this event or at least an idea of this time period? This song was released in 1971!

  • @Thunderbuck That must have been fun - for the Children too ! :-)

  • You can tell by the beat that the crowd is following that this is NOT the song being played. This is ridiculous!

  • The music is great but the video in horrible..

  • @vanloan1 it was filmed in the 70s... that why the quality is poor

  • So what the hell is it?? a friend told me they use a banjo, but it looks like a 12 string guitar to me... you never get a look at the front of the guitar, but it looks similar to alot of them epipipone/gibson doublenecks

  • Thumbs up if you feel that even the audience clapping is being lip-synced!

  • This is just awful!

  • Comment removed

  • @vanloan1 Do you even have any idea what good music is?.....I'll bet you're a rap fan!

  • lip-syncing much??

  • Walt Grealis @ 2:23!!!

  • Dammit Rich, you took me off your Friends list on Facebook!

  • This has been MY all time Favorite Song all my life and I am close to 50 yrs and it just gets and sounds better and better

  • @justanotherconnie13 Mine too...

  • This has been MY all time Favorite Song all my life and I am close to 50 yrs and it just gets and sounds better and better

  • First of all, this is not the Stampeders performing "Sweet City Woman". No video exists that I have ever seen, so when they released the Stampeders video history some time ago, they came up with this attempt to make it appear they were performing the song. But you NEVER see a band member moving their lips to the lyrics in this song. Because they are performing a different song in this concert. I have to believe there is a video somewhere out there of the 70's group performing this song.

  • Check out the bellbottoms.

  • I love this song! I Found my dad's old cassette tapes in the basement and "The greatest Hit" was there. I remember when dad still lived with us, he would play that cassette in the truck over and over again. :) This song brings back a lot of good memories. :D

  • @IntenseNinjaPickle what other songs were there??

  • @TrueDefinitionn there were quite a few I'll list some of my favs :)

    Carry me

    Oh My Lady

    Minstrel Gypsy

    Wild Eyes

    Then came the white man

    Hit the road jack

    Hope this helps :)

  • There few bands that epitomize "Canadian talent" quite like the Stampeders. I did roadie work for them when they were touring here in the early-mid 70's and I'd go back in a second and do it all over again.
