Also my people the Hmong in Laos are still persecuted as of today from the Vietnam war. Those in the Jungle are doomed to an eternity of torments and those that escape are still being push back into Laos.
What angers me about this situation is that everyone is moving for Libya all of a sudden with "what is Gaddafi doing to his own people?", but how is Burma any different?
Where is the defence for these poor souls who are suffering from terrible brutality?
Whilst I do love the UK, I am sickened by the complete blind eye we turn regarding Burma. Some one needs to sort out those sick bastards. Those people haven't a chance on their own.
having your family harmed generates hate. hate generates descrimination which leads to war. In this world of ours where real peace is measured on how much money its government can spend on military weapons. Until we sort out our indifferences there will never be peace in this world. And as hard as I could admit. I think there is no hope for understanding each other to achieve eternal peace.
Some recent news. Take it with a pinch of salt. However, the U.S and the U.N have submitted they are "looking into the alleged war crimes in Burma" (Roughly quoted). The usage of the word "alleged" by them is, in my opinion, rather insulting and offensive considering the countless documented war crimes.
While all these people die, the UN is sitting at their council room thinking "How can we saction Israel?" While although the Israel-Palestine situation is complicated. Things like Burma, Sudan, South India, Uganda, and many other parts of the world are not complicated.
this is very sad. there are an influx of refugees settling in pacific northwest. more are coming. with just the clothes on their backs. a salute to you for bringing awareness of their plight for survival. so sad. so cruel.
Why that fug is TaiThai leting Burma step on its people the Tai people. You to TaiLao ,Thailand and Lao needs to go and take Shan State ,arm every Tai person fight to the last one for the Shan State.
Shan and Karen have been fighting the corrupt military Junta in Burma for decades with no help. The Karen sometimes get food aid but the Shan get nothing. I support the Shan State Army (south) under Col. Yawd Serk and what's left of Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA). Than Shwe is an insane despot.
Burmese military dictators are ones of the worst human right violetors in the world. They are comparable to Germany's Nazis, Khmer rouge, other Communists such as Vietnamese and those international terrorists. I hope all the remaining 5 communist countries become extinct soon.
Sadly, Burma's neighbours such as Thailand, China and India turn a blind eye when it comes to human rights violations and opt to invest in Burma to obtain access to gas and oil. Companies from other nations are also happy to sign blood contracts.
The difference with all of these regimes you have just mentioned is that the outside world eventually stepped in. However, the world is looking away on this occasion. This is ethnic cleansing at its worst.
Well, God damn them to Hell, then! Fuck what they say, the world says yes, and that should matter when the governments everywhere say no to a cry for help!!! We need to MAKE someone take REAL action, lest if nobody does, I'll decide I won't wait and begin a weapons/supplies/food smuggling operation of my own to support the Karen and the people of Burma!
Been in Myanmar these last week... Bagan, Yangoon and Lake Inle...in Southern Shan State... not seen anything other than awesomely nice people, definitely poor, but happy to see tourist as it is a source of income for them ... Myanmar has many faces... some bad, and some really good... a very nice country to visit and make your own idea..
very good information in this video but i think and i have heard that reality is far worse, could anyone please send me a link or a video with more information? i would be very gratefull, i made this channel as an archive for genocide videos to inform people about all the genocide commited the past century
The same way the legue of nations failed with the Nazis, The Un has failed in Somolia, Ruwanda, Dopfor and now Burma. When will people relize that the UN in united in nothing and they are just as guilty for allowing it being done by the junta military goverment
we should go to D.C. and ask the president to stand for them and if those junta fuck want to say something, we should drop in eith special forces, or just say fuck it and send the Marines in to fuck them up.
You really need to know about something prior to commenting on it. This has happened and still happens since the 1960's. Tourism will only end up with the tourists being shot by the same Junta already commiting this genocide. I hope it does scare any idiot away from visiting this area in it's current state!
Watch the new Rambo movie to understand the area a little better. That is exactly how it is there and those "missionaries" that are killed is exactly what would happen to your helpful tourists.
I am very impressed with the direction of the new RAMBO movie released. PLEASE WATCH IT, AS IT GIVES TREMENDOUS INSIGHT. I hope people realize that this is not just a movie, but a very real way of life going on in Burma since the early 1960's. I thank Mr. Stallone for showing people some of the attrocities these people live and die through day after day. It is our hope that Mr. Stallone consider helping further by joining our celebrity endorsement program.
We call ourselves Shan Relief foundation due to the Shan State comprising the largest of the ethnic groups; also our chairman is the exiled democratically elected leader of the Shan people. We help all of the innocent people in the 8 major ethniticities comprising the Union of Burma. Our humanitarian aid also extends to the surrounding countries of SE. Asia. All innocent deserve sanctuary for safety, freedom, medicine, shelter, and peace from tyranny and oppression - Genocide..
Perhaps you know about this issue more than I do, if so accept my apologies. From all the sources that I've read, the only stumbling block to the United Nations recognizing the victims in Burma is CHINA. Today the headline was UN Security Council condemns Burma's crushing of protests.
If you have a source I can refer to where the United Nations sites the victims of Burma as illegal aliens, please share it.
The SSA, Shan State Army, is the only hope for the people of Shanland. Teh world ignores tehir problems and their fight for independence. Please say a prayer for the people of Burma and if you have the ability, volunteer as a teacher, doctor or journalist in Shan State.
China and Russia both veto the UN proposal. Obviously the flow of money to these countries from the Millitary Junta in Burma is not wanted to end - Money made from Drugs, Human-Trafficking, Nuclear material and more.
When a people are not recognised as refugee's, these people have no rights in any other country. Thus they are viewed and subsequently re-victumized under "illegal alien" status. This opens them up to being used in human-trafficking and slave labor among many other horrid attocities and worse - returned home - Certain death.
Because they are clasified as Illegal Immigrants and Internally Displaced People. Russia and China always veto on all UN situations regarding Burma. We all know why!!
India, the world's largest democracy, is also largely silent. Why? They, along with China, as well as North Korea are eager to get what Burma has in abundance (natural resources) and the SPDC want the military hardware to continue their oppression.
Also my people the Hmong in Laos are still persecuted as of today from the Vietnam war. Those in the Jungle are doomed to an eternity of torments and those that escape are still being push back into Laos.

What year is this taken? 10 years ago yesterday? A date would be nice.
Tourism could help the country but this would scare away any one trying to visit.
