"LeRoi's a really complicated person, but really loving and beautiful guy. It's so unselfish when he plays. It's so entirely not about him. In a really different way from any musician I've ever heard, he plays as if he's not there. He can blow his ass off in the loud tunes, but in the quieter ones when you can hear him whisper....that just blows my mind." - Dave Matthews
I can't understand how 3 people can dislike such a beautiful song especially when it's presented as a tribute to a fantastic musician who will be greatly missed. Just doesn't make sense.
We deeply miss you, friend. I hope you are resting well, and bringing tears to those above with the beauty of your heavenly saxophone. We love you, LeRoi.
What a deeply moving song. Truely miss the expressive beauty of that Sax. You are a true musician, you make ppl feel music, as other artists are just heard. Thank you for the time you were allowed to spend on this Earth.
Roi and his body may be gone, but his soul never will be. He is a profound musician and person, his music will continue to be some of the best the world has ever seen, he will always be a member of DMB forever, and his memory will last forever with this song.
Wow... a friend of mine showed me this song and from the beginning i couldnt stop the tears from rolling down my face, i can feel the passion and soul that he put into the music and that is what a true musician does and it shows because this mans music is otherworldy. LeRoi, the world has been blessed by your music and we love and appreciate all your hard work and now that heaven has taken back one of its angels we can live on knowing that LeRois music is leading the heavenly choirs. RIP LeRoi..
8-19-10.........two years ago today, everyone. I just cannot get my head around the fact that Leroi has been gone for two years. I need to ask everyone to take some time out of your daily routine to remember Leroi's music and legacy........that could include playing only DMB music today, only watching DMB videos on YT, saying a prayer for him and his family--I don't care, just do SOMETHING for Leroi..........it's what he would want..........R.I.P. my man.
I can listen to this song on loop for... ever. Back at college, it was good to have in the background for studying. You know how they say when babies listen to Mozart in utero, it makes them smarter? Well, I think this song made me smarter.
God if you can just give us LeRoi back....We'll make a trade...u give us LeRoi back and you can have Justin Beiber
P.S LeRoi is gone, his soul isnt at least, this is because he put his soul into every song he played, and into every friend he made. Love you LeRoi, the worlds not the same with out you RIP
@TalesFromOblivion ...God, since we have no answer from you...how about we give you Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, Britney Spears and The Hilton sisters. I reckon it's a good deal. Can we have LeRoi back?
One of my absolute favorite instrumentals ever. It makes me feel like I'm being rocked back and forth in a grassy hammock really high up on a massive tree in the middle of nothing.
Jeff Coffin may be a great saxophonist, but it will never be the same without LeRoi. He played with such passion and emotion, an amazing musician. Like Dave said, we will miss him forever.
I'm saddened by the fact that I took LeRoi for granted all these years...I just realize he was born the same year as me...I just realized how much I miss him.
this particular song is from the under the table and dreaming cd, it's a hidden track. you gotta let it play up to (what else?) #34. for a live version just youtube away!!
I love this song, it's a shame they never play it these days. In ~30 shows since 1998, #34 is one of the very few songs I've never heard live (I was shocked that I heard Halloween before #34). On a more somber note, I'll always love, miss, and celebrate 'Roi, to be sure...
I was caught completely off guard at 4:02, and started to tear up and cry a bit before I was able to compose myself. I forgot how emotional 'Roi's sax parts hit me (ie the soprano sax intro to Ants Marching & parts of jam)...
#34 is my fav. "Leroi Song" I'll tell ya though, I was watching DMB's concert on FUSE Mon nite, "the new guy" Jeff has ALOT of talent but when they played Ants Marching it just wasn't the same w/out Roi- Boyd & Roi fed off of each other so damn well when DMB played Ants Marching while Roi was still alive it just wasn't the same? Am I saying it wasn't good? NO, it was just a different sound to the "normal" version of Ants Marching I got so use to hearing -DMB keep kickin ass & Roi R.I.P.!
RIP, brother Roi. smoothe, beautiful, and full of soul...thank you for giving it up for us to enjoy. I miss sending my love to my brother in the shades for all he has given to me.
This is the trial: men have loved darkness more that the light, because their deeds are evil-Gv 3,19

I always went to the shows to hear what he would play, as I had my brief affairs with Davespeak and Boyd's heavenly solos and Timmy's dizzying guitar, but Leroi and his fills and solos were what got my blood pumping.
This has to be my most favorite DMB song that they have. So sad that we lost such a great talent, and so young at that. This song always tugs at my heart, and it is his soulful playing that does it.
No one could have said it better. What a wonderful sound. I can listen for hours, its beautiful. The sax is the best thing about DMB's music. It gives it even more feeling than it already has!
Little did I know, when I saw Leroi at the hospital, that would be the last time I would see my friend. He was an inspiration to the music world and to his fans. He will be forever miised and in our hearts forever. I love you Roi, rest in peace.
LeRoi was the man. He knew every part of every dave song ever written. Without even hesitating he knew what to add an when to every moment. The DMB will not be the same know matter who fills in, an every sax player will know that they are mearly just filling in a void left by LeRoi
Rest in Peace and thanks for everything. I agree with everyone else's comments as well.
jeff is good, i saw leroi many times and his 3rd from last show. i have also seen jeff twice and agree that he is talented, but i dont think he will have the same skill to write the music part of the song and keep the "DMB standard"
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Jeff is a liberal who wants to pretend that Obama is change but change is not from Obama but the American people being idiots and voting for a DMB loving, hemp smoking, gibee taking, guy fucking, begee listening black presidental canidatae!
Reading the comments on this video just emphasizes to me the power of music, and especially music made by the Dave Matthews Band. We all feel a personal loss, not just sadness for someone else's loss. So, in my opinion, that should be Leroi's legacy...his ability to make music that touches peoples hearts and souls, moreso than any other musician or band. All of us DMB fans feel as though we have lost a member of our family. RIP Leroi, you have touched us all and will be greatly missed!
the beauty of the horn is that you do not have to open your mouth to speak words... but the sound he let out spoke volumes. my heart breaks at this loss for us all. we are fortunate to have numerous recordings to remember leroi. my prayers for his family... xoxoxo much love for a wonderful musician
leroi such a beautiful sax player!!! im sure its a sad day for most down here, but a beautiful day of sax up in heaven!! RIP LEROI u will never be forgotten :)
I was at the Dallas show on 8/16/08, wondering where Leroi was. I grew up on DMB, and the way I preceive the world has been a reflection of what their music has been to me. I'm sad and expess, in all my heart, the condolences to the rest of the band. They gave us a family with their music, and I wish all of them my wells. RIP Leroi :(
i actually started practacing tenor sax at 30 because Leroi inspired me. His sax solo #41 listener supported. I am 35 now. I feel his loss for sure.. i cried .. Thanks Leroi.. I know DMB won't be the same, but Jeff Coffin if he replaces him will do a great job.. He actually has workshops for high school kids in band and stuff around the counrty. Nothing will be like Leroi though i know that for sure.. Leroi RIP :(
I'm with you on that....went the the Gorge every year to renew my soul...I guess the Gorge will be cancelled this year....Dave will never be the same.
actually he was the best horn player. like these brass instruments, he could play them ALL. I remember when i was 15 yrs old, i was watching them perfrom live somewhere, and i was shocked and amazed at the number of horns he had beside him. he'd pick up diff. ones durring the song and switch.. Amazing. May God bless his family, friends and the band. They need His healing touch
Roi I wish you could see how many peoples hearts you have touched, everybody already misses you man, YOU ARE the greatest sax player I have ever seen or heard, and im not saying that because im a huge Dave matthews band Roadie!!
just saw them JUNE 27TH IN HERSHEY...NEVER THOUGHT THAT'D BE THE LAST TIME I'D HEAR HIM PLAY, SMILE OR JAM...TRULY SAD N AT A LOSS FOR WORDS...R.I.P MR. MOORE
Thank you Leroi for the sweet sounds, the smiles and the kind heart, Your sounds will live on forever not only in my hear and soul, but many many others. Thank you, and God Speed!
OOOOOOOhh no. It was last thing I expect to happen to this great Man. There´s behind the words. We have no words for that. Strenght to each member of a band.
his art was truly amazing... and its like the icing on cake, so without that art being made the way it was all these years... itll never be the same... but i will always listen to it an know that he made this up... that he was one artist in, possibly the greatest band of all time... their energy is soo good, they always sell out huge concerts... in stlouis they had to have two concerts, until this year at busch stadium. its a shame, an yet i will celebrate his life, through his art... RIP LeRoi
Weird I have seen them exactly 13 times too...I will never forget him... i want to write more but I have to turn this video off before my eyes fall out from crying..
Beautiful tribute to LeRoi. When I read the news last night I was so, so sad for the band and fans that loved his playing. I for one really have and will miss his wonderful soft smooth playing.
Thank you sooooo much for making this, it breaks my heart knowing that he is gone, but i am so lucky i have all the memories of every show i saw him at, and that smilehe has as he pears over his sunglasses
I am very saddened by the loss of LeRoi Moore. He was an intregal part of one of the most amazing bands ever to be assembled. His music touched my heart and it's sad to know that the concerts will never be the same. R.I.P.

Say there, Groogrux King would you hear me if I sing
Somewhere over the rainbow, somewhere back in Virginia
where the red dirt melts to clay in the summer rain
Said would you hear me if I sing? Mister Groogrux King
For something joined the crowd when the house lights went down
An energy I have never felt before "play it Roi, Roi"...

I know DMB won't be the same, but Jeff Coffin if he replaces him will do a great job.. He actually has workshops for high school kids in band and stuff around the counrty. Nothing will be like Leroi though i know that for sure.. Leroi RIP :(

actually he was the best horn player. like these brass instruments, he could play them ALL. I remember when i was 15 yrs old, i was watching them perfrom live somewhere, and i was shocked and amazed at the number of horns he had beside him. he'd pick up diff. ones durring the song and switch.. Amazing. May God bless his family, friends and the band. They need His healing touch

his art was truly amazing... and its like the icing on cake, so without that art being made the way it was all these years... itll never be the same... but i will always listen to it an know that he made this up... that he was one artist in, possibly the greatest band of all time... their energy is soo good, they always sell out huge concerts... in stlouis they had to have two concerts, until this year at busch stadium. its a shame, an yet i will celebrate his life, through his art... RIP LeRoi

LeRoi Moore,
You were such a great musician. I remember I fell in love with you and DMb when I first heard "Crush" over the radio years ago.
Your talent and passion for music inspired me to learn and play the sax. I've played the alto sax ever since 1998.
Great job playing at the Rose Garden and the Gorge Amphitheatre!! We love you and will miss you forever!!!

Crush is what drew my interest into DMB.
This is just .. disheartening.
