  • Thanks to share your knowledge. What about a planche tutorial?

  • hey! this tutorial is amazing but im not strong enough to press from a tuck planche into a handstand - are there any excesices which i can do to develop the needed strength?

  • Have you tried this from a seated straddle position. I've been trying to get it and can't get my butt off the ground high enough and was wondering, what kinds of drills did you do to get this?

  • i can all do this in a headstand but i just can't get it in a handstand..what shall i do? can you please give me advice?i really wanna learn this so please answer..

  • GREAT TUTORIAL! Explained everything very well! This will help so many people!

  • Well done dude! Really nice tutorial!!

We want more, we want more! You explain really well! Keep up the good work!

  • Good tutorial ^^ Thank you : D

  • hey, just out of curiosity - I like some ppl have long legs and although I'm pushing through my shoulders and, keeping my butt, legs, and stomach tight, I can't seem to hold my handstand. I think because of my long legs my center of gravity is higher and that makes it harder. I don't know if you're one of there ppl who naturally have hand balance, but if there are any tricks or advise you have I'd love to here it! THANKS!!

  • @KalaMoonbeam

Having longer legs aint an excuse (:

The best thing to do, is just train and train - then it should come naturally to you after some time. Try to record your handstand, and upload it to youtube, so we can see it and give you some good advice (:

  • I love Daft Punk!!!! :)

  • could you please do a handstand tutorial???

  • is it okay if ur legs are bent when ur doing a headstand

  • @tracecyrusfan8

At first stages - yes. But I personally not recommend to you to keep this habit. Actually - straight legs are what makes a layout to be LAYOUT. With bent legs it's just a half-tucked backflip. Kinda same here ;)

  • Great tutorial.

Is it more difficult to do press to handstand with elbows bent?

  • @LifeForYoga

    Actually it's easier ))

Plus bending elbows may create a bad habit, so most coaches force athletes to keep elbows locked.

  • @CreativeKid133

Yes ,you were correct, bent elbows help, for now my wrists are killing me when I try with elbows locked.

  • we need power in our hands???plzz help

  • I like your video. Thanks for explaining the technique.

  • Great!

  • Hey this tutorial is amazing but why is flexibility so important?

  • Simple. More flexible - less strength needed :)

  • Thanx for this awesome tutorial, I really liked it and i rate 5stars,

I am 14yrs old and i need few more weeks to be able to do the press to handstand and some plench pushups, your tutorial helped me alot.

    Thank you.

  • Great thanks!

  • Some great advice in there! Thanks! Inspires me to practise more. And cut some wheight. How old are you btw?

  • Holy Mullet batman

  • excellent tutorial!!!!! Love it!!!! :)

  • o my this is realy good im a dancer and gymnais every one check out my vids

  • the video is awesome thx, i like your move at 4:27

for the next time just leave more time to read the text pls!

  • Thanx, mate!

For more time to read - just hit the pause button! Otherwise this tutoial will be a lot more bigger and therefore - annoying ;)

  • hehe true too!

    are u russian or somthn?

  • Aha. I'm russian :)

  • thought so! same with me ;)

  • Thanks alot for this video, this is one of my long term goals I would like to see achieved :)

  • can do the headstand press with ease but my wrists arent enjoying the impact of carrying my legs off the ground in a handstand press...I think I just need to gain wrist flexibilty and strength?

  • @contortionlove my wrists hurt when I don't lift through my shoulders enough and when my weight is too far back (ie not towards my fingers enough. I find they don't hurt when I correct these things.. I don't know if this is the answer for you (or the problem) but it maybe it will help!

  • Great tutorial.

    Wicked hair too.

  • dude, when i'm doing the headstand part my left wrist is killing me, but not exactly at the wrist as in the base of the palm. what am i doing wrong?

  • I can do it all until the bit where u actually go into the press bit.I'm fine on the headstand but not the actual press. Please help!!!

    Any tips?

    LittleMiss xx

  • Try it near the wall a few times. In most cases you " can't " only because your shoulders are not enough shifted to the front. You need strong wrists to keep your bodyweight controlled and balanced!

It's not SO much of your lower back as it may appear at first :)

  • it's probably because you have to be able to support all of your weight on your arms in any position. try L seats to gain strength

  • hey thx for this really nice tutorial :D , you really helped me cause i didnt know how i could practise this move into handstand THANKS !!!

  • i cant do a trucked planche :( i think i havent enought strenght. what do you recomend me to do??

    thnx!!

  • YES YO HELPED ME A LOT

  • nice tutorial, thanks a lot!!

  • it was abit gay but very helpfull :D thank you

  • Yes Indeed. Great tutorial. Up to now the best ive seen. Great guy!!! Thank you. Go on!!!

  • thanks so much...that is one of the best tutorials here.

  • @budroachtenor I agree

  • i think we need cos i oso skinny:))

  • do we need muscular body to do handstand?because im skinny and tall.ive tried for about 2 years and my handstand is sucks.but im ok with my headstand.

  • Actually, just standing on your hands near the wall takes just a little strength (in case you have your elbows locked). But to stand still without support you need some specific strength. But that DOESN'T mean you need much muscles!

Just practice will help anyone of almost any age to learn a handstand. In fact, the less weight you have - the easier it will be to obtain the skill! =)

  • I´ve been strugling with this... Maby I will get it now after seeing your excelent video. Thanx!

  • tnx man.

  • This is simply an amazing video! I will try this!

  • Good flexibility and good strenght Congratz

  • Actually i did noe how to do alrdy, but after like 2 months didnt do i cant do it anymore, i juz cant catch the point!! But after watchin dis n get the helpful tips... i GOT it within second!!! THANK YOU!!! UR TIPS ARE VERY IMPORTANT FOR ME !!! THX!!

  • You're welcome, man :)

  • I have been wanting to learn this move and am just now getting motivated to put in the work. Thank you so much, this is one of the best tutorials I found on here. I like the text, very helpful.

  • bro this is a great video, it was very helpful:) thank you very much!

  • thanx thiis helped a lot!

  • I'm a gymnast and I could never grasp straddle press, I always fell over the top. Now I've got it, thankyou!

  • Good tutorial.

Not to sound like I'm hating, but your straddle press is not very efficient. That is, ideally you want to start out w/ your hips as high as possible.

In order to do that start w/ your feet close together then once you begin to press straddle it as much as possible to compact your body and lessen your leaning forward.

Also remember to squeeze glutes and shoulders. Lock everything and suck in stomach to create better lines.

    Your pikes were great though.

  • great!!

  • great tutorial

  • For those who asked about the tucked planche problem - do you really have good handstand? If no - train it! If yes - shif weight to the front more than you think you have to! This is mostly wrist and forearm exercise. It takes time to be able to do this :)

P.S.: I really seldom train this, but the press komes to me kinda naturaly... But I tried to split the process to steps the best way I can :)

  • wow! cant do the rest! but i now can do a nice head stand! thanks!

  • hmm i got a problem with tucked planche hanstand thing .. as soon as i put my legs on my hands and try to go up my elbows are stuck to my legs ?? any help plz

  • FLAWLESS!!!

  • Sick tutorial man, but I need help! I can do everything in the tutorial up until tucked planche to handstand. I've been tryin 4 a while and I think I have about enuf strength but my technique is probably not quite there. How did u train tucked lift b4 u culd do em?

  • hey i'm the same, im working on strength exersises for this kind of thing, but theres small progression. i think i can do it, but i need to know what muscles are used to get to the handstand, i have a feeling its just a lot of training...

  • when it comes to balancing in your handstand, push out of your shoulders. Other wise your triceps will become tired much quicker.

  • yooo man very nice moves thankns very much my friend you hellp me to do it easy

im trickster i do martial arts trickz ( acrobatic martial arts ) and i need this move then i say you that thank you my brother

  • how many times do u work out?

  • hey i just did a tucked to handstand around 2 weeks ago. I did it for about 3 days in a row. Now its been like 2 weeks and i've tried it again so many times and its like ive never been able to do it????? Any ADVICE please????????

  • So you mean you did tucked to handstand some weeks ago and can't do it now? Or what?

If so, give yourself a rest. I think you do some activity that might cought tired.

  • How can I become more flexible? could someone give me some detailed info please..?

or a link to a website on how to become more flexible.

    thanks

  • unfortunately the only way to become more flexi is to practice, each and every day, and it will hurt and it wont be pleasant but that's how it's gotta be done....

  • Well what doesn't kill you can only make you stronger so that will be alright i guess..

  • it's not easy at all for the many people who don't do gymnastics and want to learn this skill...!

  • This video is brilliant.

I can hop to handstand, just can't control it. I guess its different for a girl though =/ I've got the flexibility, I think i just need more shoulder and forearm strength. But thanks for the vid, i'll keep practicing!

  • i`m a gymnast and i haven`t got so much arm muscles...

  • i think you did a great job on the vid... and you've motivated me to try it... me who doesn't even know how to do a cartwheel... LOL..... but seriously... great vid!!! :-) love the deal and tips

  • Amazing tutorial, a whole lot of time and effort went into it (:

    Great!

  • okay, i'm desperate to learn this move... but i'm struggling so much! my wrists feel like they're going to collapse!!! and I just don't have the strength in my core?? not sure what I need to do to prepare for this exercise... is it abs? back? any advise you might have would be good... i'm doing it up against my pole so i don't feel like i'm falling forward but i'm still struggling... having to kick up and that's what i want to avoid! You have such control!!!

  • Wrists pain is normal. The key here is NOT to injure them. I'm serious, just give them time to recover and don;t think that you're just wasting time! It's a great trial, but it works =)

To get the move you most of all need wrists and forearm strength. Secondly - your lower back and reasonable level of flexibility, which I showed in the video.

Take a break to recover wrists and make the move as easy as you can. Do it, but without a jump! Good luck to you, just know that it's easy to do!

  • Work on hip flexor strength and flexibility. Once you have those you won't have to planche your presses.

The higher and more aligned your hips are to your shoulders the easier it becomes because your shoulders won't have to extend too much past your hands.

  • tlk bout strength......

  • Looks like you've found a few girlfriends. Great video - and you look like you're in really good shape. Congrats. Are you an American?

  • this is a great tutorial.

    i just need to practice.

  • your hot.lol

  • nice tutorial!

  • You have some very good presses! I have so much trouble pressing from an L-sit or straddle position...any tips for how to train pressing from those positions?

  • In fact, that's what I'm training for now =)

Insufficent flexibility for me... Damn it!.. =)

Hope you'll get it! Good luck!

  • you hav muscle

  • haircut needs a bit of work

  • agh! i can't do a headstand!

it's so much harder than a handstand! :)

  • omg.. thsi tutorial is perfect man... ou realy explain everyting perfect.. and i nearl got the handstand press now man.. thnx

  • Hey NonMatchingUnderwear I handstand against the wall not just only at my house but everywhere theres a wall. And my goals are also giants and bhs and back tucks! Creepy!

  • wats the name of this song?

  • Are you kiddin'? =)

"And the answer lies in the end of the video..." =)

  • hottie

  • great tutorial! maybe i'll fianlly be able to do this move! Its one of the gymnastics moves i've always wanted to be able to do (along with giants and back tuck/handspring) so thanks!

  • this is an awesome tutorial :)

i'm deff going to try what you've showed, i've been trying to get my straddle handstan press for a long time but never really knew exercises to help and you showed me them thanks so much

  • Great tutorial!

  • this is such a good tutorial

  • You have a really good tutorial. I like the music.

I can do all the headstand things easily but can't do the tuck planche thing at all, it puts super much stress on my wrists. :(

You should make a tutorial of how to learn tuck planches.

  • seconded! I absolutely can't do them! And neither can many of my stronger gymnasts (I am a coach)

  • i do some wrist warm up and do a standing pike just to get use to it and eventually it will stop.

  • yo is it possible to learn a handstand by pressing into it??? i can hold a handstand for a few seconds but im wondering fi this will help me find better balance?

  • I'm not sure it's a good way.

The best case (in my view) is to stand still as long as you can. And do it often :)

  • you just have to get the feeling by practicing lots of times. do it with a wall about 30cm away from your hands (it breaks you fall and also stops you being afraid of kicking properly). i never learned a good handstand as a gymnast, but now I can do really good ones becaus i'm always doing them around the house!

  • Really good tutorial, but I couldn't help but stare at your 80's style mullet.

  • nice body makes up for the hair ;)

    good tutorial!

  • great tutorial. + yours really good at the press to handstand

  • awesome vid dude, thanks a bunch

  • Questions,

I dont have the strength to do the tuck up and down (maybe its technique, i dont know)

I can do all the headstand things easily, is there a strength exercise i can do to help build up to the tuck thing?

I am also not flexible enough so that doesn't help.

  • awesome tutorial..however cz im tall, lots of people say i cant breakdance and it's also difficult for me to do hand/headstand

  • The taller you are - the harder to tumble.

But your height DO NOT affect your head/handstand in my opinion, so don't make a sense ;)

  • height will put your center of gravity higher, making it harder

  • Awesome i have to try that!I am only 10 years old can you be my teacher ?

  • Dude that is a really dope tutorial..thanx.

Don't know 'bout the mullet hair though.. heh :))

  • This is the best tutorial for this move I have seen. Keep up the good work and make some more tutorials.

  • Great tutorial! Can you do the straddle or pike press from the sitting position?

  • WOW! Great tutorial, but you must be so strong! I can do all the prerequisites and the headstand presses, but as soon as I try press to handstand I just collapse, I think I am just not strong enough.

  • I think it's mainly about the technique. Just try to press near the wall, using it as a support.

  • omg!! I am totally like that. It's really frustrating because no matter how many times i try. I can't get it. Help

    Plz!!

  • hey !! help full, im a gymnast but i have been workingg on the strength and wich one do u thing is the hardest? straddle pike or tuck? what about easiest?

  • I dunno... It doesn't matter which one is easiest or hardest for me. It's straddle because I have bad straddle, but does this mean it takes more strength? No.

Just decide which one is the hardest for YOU and do it more :)

  • Nice tut, i really like the headstand point of view, i've never before noticed that i might be able to use the headstand-press to gain strenght and technique for handstandpress :) ty. !

  • Awesome tutorial...I can do handstand and i shall start practicing press to handstand with it...Plz post some more techniques too....thanks!!!

  • can u tell me what song is this? its cool

  • Hey I can't do the handstand from tucked planche position but all the other things before I can. What shall I do?

  • great vid man but i don't believe 8/10 of the ppl who try this have the shoulder/core/back w/e strength/stability to pull it off. u have to make a beginner level vid on building strength... x sets 3 times a day against a wall... hold x seconds then try to lower urself or press etc.. just remember not everyone swims or does gymnastics stuff. keep up the vids cheers

  • You might be right :)

I'll think about it. Thanx for the idea ;)

  • cheers man

  • 2 words shirt and pants

  • man thats awesome but i must say extremly fkin disgusting no offence

  • ok ty so much:) very helpful:)

  • I don't get it I shift my weight forward but I just don't know how to get up XD

  • ok this video seems so helpful but i have to ask something....

how do i get up like in to a handstand?

    plz answer back and ty:)

  • I'm a bit confused with this question :)

What do you mean? How to JUST get into a handstand position?

Stand stright, hands up, elbows locked (and keep this position all the time). Take a step forward with one leg and swing up and behind you with the other. Literally LINE up the entire body :). And stand on your hands!

P.S.: Try this near the wall so you don't have a fear to fall onto back. This will be a theme of another tutorial, but a bit later :).

    Be safe!

  • Nice tutorial. The biggest to keys I think for achieving this skill is

    1. flexibility very important

    2. Shoulder strength.

If you have these 2 then it makes everything much easier.

  • excellent tutorial in both material and presentation. A+++ THANKS!

  • Thank you. :)

  • THANK YOU..................VERY helpful

  • hey there! I've watched a few of your videos, and have really enjoyed learning from them. Keep up the great work! :)

  • Thank you very much I managed to learn the press but no matter what press I do (straddle, tuck or pike) I can't lift my back to completely vertical position during the press. What could be the problem?

  • if u tuck your head in ... it will b a lot easier

  • Please! Read my comment 2 posts earlier! I just exlained - you DO need wrist strength and confident straight handstand (like I show in tutorial)!

  • to do the press you need to now how to tucked plache?

  • Well... I doubt it =)

And my answer is NO. You don't need it actually.

What I do in this video is NOT a tucked planche! Did you see the angle? It's only about 45 derees and it's A LOT easier than a tucked planche.

But you DO need strong wrists and you DO need some strength in your lower back and shoulders!

  • how long did it take to doit in the floor the regular stardel prees?

  • i traned at lest 20 days and ican doit in the wall but ¿is the trik low in the head near to the flor to make up the legs? thanks nice tutorial

  • thank you very much

  • very good tutorial :D

  • i love you! thanks sooo much! : )

    --miah!

  • oops i made a mistake there at the end i ment to say i push my legs back threw my arms and into a handstand.

  • I do gymnastics and I do it differently. I start sitting on the floor in pike and push my legs threw your my and up into a handstand.

  • my head hurts like a bitch after tryin to do dah headstand....buhh does anyone have anytips for me? i can hold my handstand for a few seconds but then i have to fall down how do i stand in a handstand for alongtime?

  • i think your head should not hurt when doing the headstand. try to go very, very gently on the head, letting your arms do as much as possible of the work. push hard with your arms. (my wrists hurts like hell, not my head.)

your arms will have to do all of the work when you progress to handstand press anyhow. hope this helps.

  • Is it so important to keep your arms straight when learning the handstand presses?? Or is it alright to bend your arms at first until your wrists and forearms develop?? Great tutorial mate 5 stars

  • I have to bend my arms as well. If I keep my arms locked straight I just can't get my toes off the ground, but if I dip a tiny bit with my elbows first and then push it's easier.

  • This is brilliant, thanks so much for taking the time to make this video, because it helps so much! Iv been trying to do this for a long time now but from a straddle lever possition on the floor, and at one point I even broke my toe trying it!! Thanks once again! :) x

  • Thx. Nice tutorial :-) ..

  • very helpful!! :-)

  • this guys got talent

  • that was actually a pretty good tutorial
