The United States have many Hatian's immigrant's living in America. This Hatian refugee speaks good English. (How many American's can speak French-Creole?) Are you aware, the British Council of Government teach Egyptian's and Hatian's how to Speak English? They get good HIGH PAYING JOBS in America, Canada, or Europe. Those tribes live in Rwanda, not Haiti. We are not so special, that we can sit in judgment of others. We must study the history of these people, so you can understand what created these circumstances, and how to prevent them in the future.

The US did nothing, NOTHING, to aid the people who were being slaughtered in Rwanda, nor did any other country offer substantial help. Rwanda is one of the greatest tragedies and disgraces in modern history.

@mdryden02, Sierra Leone is another place in West Africa that has endured a bloody history, it is because of the diamond trade there and with diamonds come tragedy. the rock on your wife's finger may of been responsible for a dozen murders, who knows for sure but, many lives are lost there and they get paid table scraps for finding a few diamonds that bring thousands in the US market.

Yellowgroove. You are right. Too0 many tragedies in too many countries. Any of these people need help from wherever, but I wish I felt hopeful that the US can keep it together. Noone helps enough. I am so sad for these people. I have worked for Catholic Relief teaching refugees from Haiti in the US. The lack of education is apalling. They speak Haitian Kreyol, but if they go to school, classes are taught in French.

Then they get to the US, and they study in English. Need Haitian volunteers.

Yes I know the US failed Rwanda and other countries with nothing to steal Like Oil, Opium and Diamonds There are reports of machete armed gangs roaming Port-au-Prince and doing vile things. Es horrible. Families of the dead can't recover from this, without help. Even in the US, with education, we would not , either. Think Bosnia is worst I heard. I could not read another magazine. I taught Bosnian and SC refugees. They explained the war-same old thing. Greed for money/power, in the name of God. Neighbor comes one day,kills your grandmother.You lose parents, aunts, uncles, but where? You come to the US. You must work right away, strange culture, little English. Child has no English.

You are talking about very poor countries indeed. Cubans make $2 a day or less, if they have a job. People are starving. Buildings are disintegrating. The country is falling apart, without an earthquake, unless the tourism they plan can save them. The money from tourism will probably go the corrupt ones who are already in control.
