So overshadowed by Gilmour and Waters for so many years, I always felt like he creatively began to phone it in after The Wall. dear Rick, I listen to this incredible song , my mind drifts back to VA Hospital, where a dear friend , John A. spends time pencil drawing beautiful sketches with words only John can think of. but what happened yesterday was an emotional rollerecoaster that I wont ever forget. I had drawn in pencil an image of John, went there to show it to him, he looked very weak ,then he saw me and took his paper pad and attempted to draw me, I was overtaken and tears bursted out but he drew me so well !!!

Is this not the majestic aspect of the Floyd we all love? It was this parallel between Roger Waters' deep and dark words, David Gilmour's blues infused guitar playing, and Nick Mason's simple yet elegant drumming that was Pink Floyd.

Rick was often forgotten in the argument over who or what was Pink Floyd. I, however, never forgot about him, and often stated that Rick's contributions to the band were just as important as Roger's or David's.

I find it sad that Rick did not understand how much everyone truly loved his music. It was said by those close to him that he could not believe he such loud applause each night on Gilmour's 2006 tour. A truly humble man, a shining example for all the image conscious, egotistical music acts of today (I withhold the term musicians).

Each year on my birthday I will think of Rick Wright, for we shared the same birthday.

'Loved forever more' he shall be by his many fans.
