  • This is excellent! What an incredible voice <3

  • oh i have gone all cold :D

  • Ther is no other voice like Aled's. Whatever he sings is terrific. I heard him sing How Great Thou Art in the Bridgewater Hall Manchester. He literally brought the house down

  • @AntL2K2010 I'm there :)

  • absolutely crap quality but great song

  • i cant imagine that this is aled jones' voice now!

  • Another excellent version of terrible audio. I wanted to hit Stop, but had to settle for Pause. I hope Aled Jones doesn't stumble in here.. he won't be happy.

  • @aboctok

Do you by chance know where I can get a version with an acceptable audio? What can be heard is really promising ...

  • Watched him grow too, and he just gets better and better

  • Odd but i never think of this as a "christian" song. First time I ever heard it ( and it was Aled singing it,) it brought my wonderful mother to mind. It's the way I always thought of her and still do, even though she's been gone now for 14 years.

  • Great song and so wonderful.

  • He was a lovely boy soprano and a gorgeous welsh tenor now..so glad that he kept singing.. many of them don't or can't..

  • @goblinonacloud True - and he's also a very entertaining artist live in concert, a beautiful personality and witty too. His songs in Welsh made me cry when I saw him a year or so ago.

  • Oh lucky you. I live on the west coast of canada now and Aled never comes here unfortunately. I would love to see him live again as an adult.

  • I hope you get the chance. As well as singing beautifully he was funny and warm - just lovely. I'll definitely go to see him again when he comes back.

  • @goblinonacloud He has that classic Welsh 'look' found more often in the North

than in the South where there has been an admixture of genes due to the certain influx of English looking for jobs in the mines in the 19th century. Glynis Johns is another with that beautiful classic Welsh 'look'.

Aled (not a relative except maybe way way back)

  • @ifuliki Yes, most of my welsh chums are the dark, curly haired, electric blue eyed ones. Every time I see Aled or Glynis I think hmmm, English snuck in there somewhere lol.. I myself take after the more Spanish look in the southwest of England. Most people take me for French . Go figure. Can't tell where anyone comes from these days. lol... Anyway, I just have to close my eyes listening to Aled sing and the great voices of Wales comes through.

  • @goblinonacloud Right. Friend of mine from Cornwall has that dark Spanish beauty look & claims she is descended from a shipwrecked sailor off the Spanish armada.

I am half English and apart from my extremely fair skin (a Celtic characteristic. I'm told) I believe my Anglo-Saxon looks predominate. I like your nickname.

    Aled Owen

  • terrible quality, worse than static radios in the 40s, but a beautiful song. Aled Jones a wonderful singer.

  • Yes a lovely version and pity not a better recording. Must be on of the best christiaon songs ever written.

  • How cool that he came back or is still singing (eventhough the sound quality of this video is crap).

  • This is very beautiful...

  • OMG!!! His voice is brilliant, though the recording quality's a wee bit fuzzy

  • i fancy him

  • I've watched him grown up, heard him grow up - and better, he's lovely :-) and what a voice !

  • This song will always remind me of being in the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast ( to advertise it ), and the cleaner, John, used the bed control thing to raise the bed and Mum always sang this. I love this song.

  • i fancy him

  • Nice, but have you heard Connie Talbot's version , due out on her new album out in June 2008, She is a little star at only 7 yo.

  • Secret Garden owns this song

  • You right expostfactum, Libera is the best and Aled Jones. I really love this song so bad.

    It makes me emotional.

  • Aled Jones can sing and thats that!Irene

  • Joe Platt (the boys soloist), and the rest of Libera, really make this song special. It is hard to sound bad when your backed by such a talented and great bunch of boys like Libera!!! Joe, and the rest of the boys sining in this version, have aged out of the choir now, but the group is still going strong with a bunch of new boys and all very talented as well. Good luck to all the Libera boys.

  • i like his voice , Joe platt. but he can't singsing highly now.

  • Well he is 16 now...that sort of thing is quite common.

  • Yup Libera is very angelic especially when they sing with their ahhhhhsssss & ooohhhhssss & their high note. I think it was Chris Robson who backed up Aled Jones in this song. Libera & Aled Jones at their best ohhh I really love this version of them just this version nothing at all.

  • Nope, the boy soloist is Joe Platt. Chris sang with him on the song "Do you hear what I hear".

  • Oh I see now I remember Chris Robson is the soloist in the "DO you hear what I hear" you're right:) my bad LOL.

Thanks for correcting me they just sound the same

    CHINO

  • Are you sure it's Chris? Coz I love the voice very much, although there's a broken point at 2.16, don't know it's 'real' broke or just bad recording quality.

  • It is a shame that the video/audio quality isn't all it could be...

However, Aled's heartfelt rendition of this lovely, uplifting song more than makes up for it...Thank you for posting.

  • I agree with sugarpuffsandwich, only professional singers should record this tune. As for Westlife, well there a bunch of manufactured crap just like Boyzone, spice girls and Take That. Real bands play instruments, guitar drums bass and keyboard. To describe Westlife as Amazing, is nonsense. Watch the Police or Emerson Lake and Palmer Live,.. Now That's AMAZING

  • what nonsense some people talk! Police amazing!! aye right! oh well, it is only a matter of personal taste.

  • The best version is by the originator, Secret Garden and the incredible vocals of Brian Kennedy.

  • Brian Kennedy's version is by far the best! i do wish people would stop recording this song...ffs, its being ruined by dicks like westlife. enough please!

  • how dare u westlife are amazing so shut up. they sing the song very well as does this man he is very talented so stop slaging ppl off

  • haha!

'westlife' and 'amazing' should never be mentioned in the same sentence!

i'll slag off who i wish - thats the idea of posting comments here! duh!

  • no it aint and there is nothing wrong with westlife u obviously Jealous of there talent and sucess

  • I like Westlife also, and would I be right in saying that if Westlife were a bunch of 'manufactured crap' would they still be going as strong now as they were 11 years ago?!

    Answer me that sugarpuffsandwhich!

  • Paul Potts does another excellent version!

  • can somebody put it right please westlife take note

  • Completely ruined by shocking audio

  • Ya, the audio is pretty bad, but the voice makes up for it. This is the best version I've heard of this song, followed closely by Josh Groban.

  • Spine tingling every time!! I am a teacher of y3 pyupils (7-8) and I played this before and afteran assembly I did last week and it was so moving. Other(I must admit much younger) teachers were coming up and saying "Wow that was so powerful..who/what was it so I can use it again"

  • Thanks for uploading! The audio is kinda bad though..
