This scene alone Takeshi Kitano makes it like a folklore or superstitious where if a couple see the bound beggers cross there path , there love will fall in tragedy

One of my all time favorite movies. I love this scene! What a perfect combination together with Joe Hisaishi's »Sakura«. Listening to that track always sends shivers down my spine.
Tragedy and love join together in Kitano´s masterpiece in order to reach our hearts. And of course, he did it. Nobody can escape to this Beauty. Nobody can avoid the tears at the end. If someone can do that, it´s because it´s dead or maybe not human. Certainly, this picture´s too human and nothing human´s out of it.

this movie really is a short history of post-war Japan.

I think Hisaishi's best scores come from this and Sonatine alone.

I love the music in this. It's a shame Joe Hisaishi probably won't work with Kitano again. Both of each others' talent is perfect when used together.
