I LOVE joe Louis. He was one of the VERY top heavyweights of all time! But, it amazes me that some people believe he could've beaten Ali. His style was wrong for Ali, proved (in my opinion) by the fact that he was so soundly beaten by Billy Conn (until Conn foolishly went for the knockout). Conn was a master boxer, like Ali, but not in his calibre. So how could Louis beat Ali?! Louis was a MASTER of the compact stance & counter punch, with lightening hands, but his feet were surely too slow?
Ali had a hard time beating Norton. He posed a big threat and i love ali more than the next man, but Norton was robbed in their last fight. By favortism. I could be wrong. If he couldnt dominate Norton, wat makes you wipes think he could dominate Louis. If louis hit you one time, you are out, down for the count. Only thing ali had on louis was speed and movement
@LelandnSonya4eva, Louis is a totally different fighter from Norton. If you say that, then tell me why George Foreman destroyed Norton, yet Ali knocked out Foreman. It all depends on style man...
Its just my reading on Ali's ability and treaining Ali didn't take norton seriopusly the 3rd fight and imo still clearly one, norton was shouldering him and was desperate. Norton gave holmes a gud fight though that was hot.
peak ali would beat anyone, but joe louis was a hard match for anyone in the history, george foreman and mike tyson said that they could not imagine anyone beating him, even today, even muhammad ali. if joe louis hurt a guy, this guy would not be only in problems, he would get knocked out 100%
i have to go with joe louis.... ali was a good boxer no doubt but joe louis was a proper pound 4 pound...ali made it big because of the press but if it came down to it joe louis would od knocked him out
I would take Louis by a small margin Joe Louis was a very versatile fighter with KO power in both hands. Although not nearly as fast as Ali, he was not a slow clubbing puncher like Foreman or Liston his punches were quick and explosive and could KO anyone with 1 shot at any given time. Louis was also one of the most accurate and technically sound boxers ever.
Nice video! As great as Louis was, I think Ali would knock him out. Boxers with Louis's style fit perfectly with Ali. Also Louis was sometimes troubled with fighters that moved and used the ring. Louis needs someone to stand in front of him to win.
alis to advanced for joe prime for prime ali vs liston will rip louis even ali vs frazier will still beat louis but louis had alot of power in thos hands but ali would take the punch's and still win thats what made him such a great champion louis is to slow for ali i dont see louis winning hill put a good fight tho.
Ali comes out jabbin, hustlin and moving, scoring heavily on joe louis's head, rd 2 Ali comes out, moving less, clinches more. Joe gets in some hard body shots. rds 3-5 ali jabs, with joe louis occasionally getting in a good reaching left hook. rds 4-9 Ali slugs with joe, with Ali scoring heavily.rd10-13 joe louis unleashes a huge right hook directly on alis chin sending him stumbling into the ropes, and joe dominates. last rds, Ali pulls off a last min combo which gives him a descision win.
It may just be me, but I think Louis would win.
