Great movie, but I regret that Lionel Barrymore is remembered only for that role. I have added a small addition to the final scene. As everyboy is adding their contribution to the money pile, there is a sudden hush, the crowd parts, and there is Potter. being pushed by one of his flunkies.He throws a folded newspaper on the pile and says,"This was left in my office." Then he turns to his flunkie and says, "There I did it, get me out of here!" And,of course, there is the missing $10,000!

@Basketball80 Its too bad the world today couldn`t be more like the movie when everyone looks after each other the way George did with the whole town.The least selfish man in town only to see that prick Potter not get ahold of the building and loan so people can have a decent life and home..Too bad the world is the same or even worse to some degree,America should be the richest country on earth but not when industries are heading overseas or Mexico only to have cheap labour for profits,sad.
