tre 9 is correct In his first question If you are a Christian you can't have wicked things coming from your mouth regardless if you trying to speak to an older group of people or to reach out to the ones in the hood. There is no blessing and no fruit of God on your music if you create music that doesn't represent God.
i refuse to follow a religion that is one, as young and convoluted as christianity is, and yes out of all the religions that there are there are only the islamic faith and the scientology that are younger, and every single story in the bible has a counter part in the egytian religion that has been around sine 3000 years before christ was ever known, so out of all the religions why do you choose to follow this one especially since you all are predominately not jewish
You must follow "the way" to be a Christian so if you do not we can not call ourself a "Christian" God does aprove when we are lukewarm. So for him to call himself Christian and then default to making music for adutls is wrong. We have accountably turn up side down. The bible says when you become a man put away childish things. But instead of that when people get older they do what ever they want. Who needs a bad life story told over and over again. Helping people to continue to live in the pas
one more thing and im done..he made the statement "i feel like my actions speak louder than my words" although this is very very true that does not give us a pass to say as we wanna say it says in the book of proverbs in so many words to keep our lips clean so we can just say we christians we gotta BE christians thats why we do this for the king we cant make excuses like "o i dont make music for children" is that what you gone tell jesus at the gate?
nothing is wrong with hip hop in the church at all but the minute we get caught up in self or things of this world is when we mess up...bun again if u see this god bless you but you can do more with what you have to be a blessing...if u gone talk the to the streets than bring the streets to God and get em saved...its god first and god last and god in b/w....lets get on our grind and be a blessing to the block
i got one question to everyone...if jesus was in your passenger seat would you put on a UGK cd? bun b knows alot which shocks me but its also disappointing to see a follow christian thats brainwashed....at the end of the day it is about accountability...the goal of every christian is to bring more souls into the kingdom of God and if thats not whats happening then whats the point...he was right in that rap is not the only problem but that why we (Christians) are to be different and be a light
PEOPLE JUST DONT READ THE BIBLE, CAUSE ALL THAT STUFF BUN B SAYING DONT MAKE SENESE FROM THE WORD OF GOD POINT OF VIEW, THEY DO IT FOR MONEY NOT FOR THE MESSAGE. ITS MAKES THEM AND WHO EVER PUTS THEM OUT RICH. CHRIST LIKE SMH JESUS SAID IT BEST WHEN HE SAID I NEVER KNEW YOU GET AWAY FROM ME YOU WHO DO EVIL. MAT 21
The issue is that, though words can change in terms of how society views them, the bible and truth of Gods word never changes. The bible states that we are not supposed to let any vile language come out of our mouths. So I'm just as guilty for cursing someone out as I would be for slandering their name minus the curse words. As a Christian, it is my job to seek righteousness daily and not make excuses, regardless to my intent. If my intent is producing bad fruit, then I need God to change my heart.
I truly wished that I could attend these classes. I also agree with the fact that as Christians we are gonna be tempted to do wrong because..let's just say it we are not good people by nature..however, I feel that using profane language in any form of oral communication whether writing, rapping, conversations totally contradicts the word of god..and to say that "im gonna be dealing with my fresh everyday" doesn't mean i have to give in to that temptation.
Still, how we speak as Christians represents us as well, not only our actions. It may be difficult to stay away from evil but we are still supposed to try.
So according to Bun B, it's okay to have an unbridled tongue as long as your doing what's right? In the bible James talks about the tongue as a deadly vice, how can we undermine the power of the what we say?
@DJRedMEDIA Jesus modeled through his actions the truth he taught with his lips. We cannot separate our words from our actions. They must be consistent with each other.
@snugglebear09 No, I refuse to believe that, the good Lord wants that we stay true to ourselves, as a product of our environment, we can still do that and have faith in his values and teachings! Besides, such language was non existant in that time."Timothy 2:15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, handling accurately the word of truth."
@DJRedMEDIA Your words have the power to build someone up, or to totally devastate them. Many verses in Scripture that address the words we speak have as much to do with how we say something as they do what we say. If Jesus is Lord of my tongue, I must recognize that I am not free to speak a truth in any way, shape, or form I wish...and then trust God to clean up the mess in someone's heart that I just created.
@snugglebear09 I respect your views, but to sum it up, language can be manipulated to create different meanings and you have to realize that words change overtime. What doesn't have to change in the future is our faith in Jesus as Savior and the need to spread that message. Just in the last 10 years, calling someone "the shit" has become a positive message, as if they are being called "cool". If language is being used in a positive matter such as teaching a lesson, why should it be an issue?
@DJRedMEDIA .... I must daily surrender my tongue to Him, and let Him help protect me from my words as if they were my worst enemy, because sometimes they are...even when I speak the truth.
Great question! Personally, I love U.G.K and I love the Lord. I'm a sinner just like everyone else. U.G.K did speak on how destructive life is, BUT what about when they rapped let me see it? I feel like Bun answered well, but what bout his desecrations? I don't feel Hip Hop is destructive when used right, but how can you can you go to his gates and tell him, yeah I want to see that hairy asshole? Just saying. I know any man can be forgiven but 1st you must admit your sins
like i said, if what you portray is how you live, than what god inspired you? you know? my God tells me to love my enemies, bless those who hate me, and to live a godly life. and that includes cuss-free language, showing love and loving my God. now just becuase something is true does it make it right? not all the time. and we dont know where pimp c or tupac is right now. if they accepted Jesus as savior than yes their in heaven but if not, sorry buddy, their in hell. point blank period
@MrJRod116 Well ask any family member of Pimp C, ask Mama Wes, she'll tell you he accepted Jesus Christ and knew he died for mankind. Pimp C is in Heaven, Pac and Biggie are most likely in Hell....
@MrJRod116 That line "If what you portray is how you live, than what god inspired you?" Can be applied to millions of people across the World, but if they live the way they live and live by Christ and do bad things like become jackers, killers, dealers then nuh uh, don't even try to use that arguement.
@Crankee78 and thats the problem, were talking about one person, you wanna argue about millions of people around the world. i believe that out of the 3 billion "christians" only about 100 million are actual practing christians. so yes i do agree with you but in this context and this particular debate its about one person. and i dunno if theyre in heaven or hell, i dont know their personal life, i hope they did accept Jesus, but hey demons also beleive in Jesus, are they goin to heaven?
@MrJRod116 No, because what it comes down to if there is an afterlife, a life after death, it's just a matter of which religion is right, one of these religions has to be right, and it may or may not be Christianity.
@Crankee78 Jesus specifically says "No one comes to the Father except through Me" check your facts bro, religion wont get you NOWHERE besides a trip to hell, its about your relationship with God.
@MrJRod116 Then what is Christianity??? It is the religion where you develop the relationship WITH God man. These beliefs tell you about the gap, I'm well aware of that bridged-gap they speak of, and its up to you to "make the bridge" and once you accept Jesus Christ as your Savior and accept the fact he died for mankind you make the "bridged" path and are closer to God. Ok if Jesus SPECIFICALLY said that, name the verse it came out of the bible cite it then.
@Crankee78 John 14:6 - I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. Actually read the whole chapter 14. yes technically christianity is a "religion" if thats what you wanna call it. BUT like you said its a relationship. Christ died for those who were in bondage because of what religion has established! religion tells you that you HAVE to follow rules, Christ told us its our choice. and if you dont wanna accept Christ, it aint my problem but to pray for u
@Crankee78 were all sinners in need of a savior, so to say that someone doesnt sin, makes you out to be, in fact, a liar and makes God out to be one as well. thats also in the bible, in 1 John ^_^ be blessed bro
To stand there and say that he dont create his music for children is a way for bun b to justify the fact that he utters evil in his lyrics, nelly was the same way when he was questioned about his tip drill video, what these rappers dont understand is by producing such material makes it accessible to any and everybody including our youths. theirs a devil who is smarter than us and will see to it that this matrial reaches our youth and send them mixed messagesof life
@crossway83 Bun B won't sell you or tell you no lie and If I recall he told ya'll that in "Trill N***** Don't Die." If you ever listened to a song off of UGK's self-titled album called "How Long Can It Last." Pimp C (R.I.P. to him) goes on and talks about the Lord, but he explained he had to live the life he led, in order to live, so that's why he was slangin' cocaine on the streets in P.A. back in the day before he was in UGK with Bun B.
@Crankee78 - wow ok...2-3 songs out of HOW MANY songs he and pimp c has made? what are they known for? selling drugs, pimpin women, killin people, idolizing cars. i grew up on UGK, i jammed to Too hard to swallow, super tight, ridin dirty, dirty money, the UGK album, trill a** mxes, trill, 2 trill, sweet james jones stories. out of 8 albums ive heard from these brothers, ive only heard the max 4 songs in the context that Bun is puttin it here in this video. the rest is all garbage
@MrJRod116 Well Bun B wasn't proud of what he did, in II Trill he expressed that in a few songs, and Pimp C wasn't too proud either, so now Bun B has a new outlook so that's what he's sayin' in this video. Pimp C was the one who came up with Trill sh*t in '93, and he was the Original P-I-M-P, I'm well aware of "Too Hard To Swallow" "Super Tight" and "Ridin' Dirty" by UGK, UGK was the BEST RAP GROUP OF ALL TIME, Pimp C was a legend that's a undisputed fact, if you say Bun B is a liar, you're one.
@Crankee78 well i havent listened to Trill OG, but like what someone said, what type of message are you portraying? the first single for Trill OG was "Trillionaire". what type of message is that? get your money and everything will be cool. Hes not saying "trust God and fix your life up" heck even Pimp C said it himself on living this life "im steady praying to you but i dont know your real name" then he names allah, Jesus, yahshua...meaning he didnt know what to believe. what is that? relativism
@MrJRod116 No, what Pimp C meant right there he is prayin' to God, but if indeed, one of these religions have to be right, to others he meant they pray to those Gods and deities you named and so on, he's just sayin' he's prayin' but he's just wondering what true deity exists up there, if there is one in it's entirety up there. Trillionaire, Bun B explained it desn't mean money and cool like you said, it means TRILL, TRUE, BEING ABSOLUTE TRUE AND "RICH" IN BEING TRUE TO YOURSELF.
@Crankee78 - "im a SELF MADE trillionaire" Self Made means that you did it by yourself, with no help right? well i dont trust myself to do anything. i trust God, which is Jesus. if pimp c knew he was living wrong, why did he keep talking about selling drugs and pimpin women? and your right no one wants to be thugs or killers, but no one forced anyone to sell the drugs or pull the trigger, so no dont even try that bro lol, i was in those shoes and no one forced me to do the things i did but me
@MrJRod116 Well it can be interpretated as that, then ok ok, take Ciara, she's starting to cuss in her music, cussing can be interpreted as being wrong, she knows it's wrong, but she's probably going to continue to do it. Like in the same case as with Pimp C he kept saying it anyway because it was true, it was the life he lead, he was true, he never told a lie. Tupac may have burned in Hell, but Pimp C is up in Heaven.
@Crankee78 now dont get me wrong, pimp c was good, he spoke out on alot of fake artists and the illuminati and what not, but when it all boils down to the black-and-white, If you profess to know God and deny Him with your actions, what type of christian are you? if you say you love God and dont keep His commandments, you are a LIAR, and thats from the bible (Titus 1:16 & 1 John 2:4) if you taste and see how good God is, you CANNOT live a sinful life and portray one either (Romans 6)
@MrJRod116 Pimp C knew he wasn't livin' right, that's why he said "I rather die than keep living this life." Which is probably why he overdosed on syrup, intentionally is a possibility, unintentionally is most likely. If you're sayin' Pimp C was false, then I disagree, because he had to do what he had to to live, hustlers do it because they need to in order to survive, they want to have their dads home, mom off drugs, they didn't want to be killers, dealers, and thugs....
Tre9 hit the nail on the head. Bun B is just like every other artist that gets up to accept an award and say "I just want to give thanks to god." They think God is stupid! Really?
cool vid, , , i think bun madeit to complex to much talk bout sumthing that is to simple. . IS NOT WUT HE THINKS, IS WHUT THE WORD OF GOD SAYS BOUT THAT, , (jaja is so funny, i dont make musik for kids,, OMG! kids are the first to turn the radio on, we all kno that, is crazy, )
also, Bun B's argument would be valid if he rapped in the past tense, but check the lyrics it's all present tense. So what kind of message does that portray? And Bun needs to careful when he uses biblical metaphors (2nd verse on Put It Down), they might just be a little blasphemous.
tre 9 is correct In his first question If you are a Christian you can't have wicked things coming from your mouth regardless if you trying to speak to an older group of people or to reach out to the ones in the hood. I hear Bun talking about the morals to his music, but what about lyrics like "Get Throwed"?
From the last half of Bun's verse:
Head to the H, where the hoes will fuck three way
Two way, four way, anyway the Pro say
Never hear a hoe say no I won't, no I can't
Stop it and no I don't
Cause a bitch know that I might just explode
And slap her in the face with a pie a la mode
Cause a nigga gettin throwed
Orgies, (rape?), beating women... that goes AGAINST Christian values and there's no lesson.

Really?

I hate it when people in the crowd start hoopin and hollering, what are they agreeing on anyway? smh

also, Bun B's argument would be valid if he rapped in the past tense, but check the lyrics it's all present tense. So what kind of message does that portray? And Bun needs to careful when he uses biblical metaphors (2nd verse on Put It Down), they might just be a little blasphemous.
