For what I know the rhythm and the riff of this song are quite similar to "La fille du père Noël" by Dutronc that, in turn, is similar to a song by the Yardbirds. As for I know, Lanzmann collaborated with Dutronc, but it not seems to me in his aforementioned song. Anyway, thanks for your information.
@polodemarseille it's riff but he has had to add lyrics and a melody there is only so many riff on the planet. Ironically sweet tried to say he copied them lol
I don't understand. If I would have been at this concert and up front, I would have been on my feet dancing (and probably tring to attract his attention). !! How could they just sit in there seets? I don't get it. Not downing the audience, David Bowie has the best fans out there, I just don't get it.
I used to sell music and am highly discriminating about live performances. I searched YouTube for this song. This is the best version out there! The ones with many views are a major disappointment. Thanks!
Such a beautiful, lively wonderful song, just makes my heart dance. Only David Bowie can take the troubles and worries of the day and make them fade away into a feeling of happiness. Thank you so much for this brilliant jewel, Fiorella, you made my day much brighter.
You said so well what is profoundly true. Bowie/Man is an exceptionally erudite and cultured person, besides very intelligent: with lovely irony, he managed to blend the positive and the negative into a musical alchemy that everyone can understand in the immediacy of own same joy.
This is for me one of the highest meanings of Music,
Thanks a lot of the nice compliment, sincere and very welcome.
Aladdin Sane has marked in 1973 my incredible encounter with the Music of this Genius and "The Jean Genie", like many of Bowie's songs, had the power to multiply my gaiety !
Classic rock that rocks!

My bad!! You are right... Lanzmann only wrote the French Lyrics.....
Dutronc wrote the music in 1966 Side B of his 45t "Playboy"
Love Bowie

Many thanks for your time to watch, so much kindly.
This track, actually, is not included in the official DVD of "A Reality Tour", anyway is part of the last Bowie's great Tour.
