  • Classic rock that rocks!

  • Douche Bag..get a life

  • What kind of harmonica is Bowie using?? Diatonic? Key of C, E???

  • @ashy99999

Maybe key of E, but I'm not sure, sorry.

    Thank you for watching.

  • Soooo cool!

  • Bowie is a genius !

  • The song speak about the french writer Jean Genet .

    Great Bowie a génius !

  • my only complain is: why is not in the reality tour album? why? WHY???

  • My bad!! You are right... Lanzmann only wrote the French Lyrics.....

Dutronc wrote the music in 1966 Side B of his 45t "Playboy"

    Love Bowie

    Peace

  • THIS SONG WAS NOT WRITTEN BY DAVID BOWIE BUT BY FRENCH SINGERS JACQUES DUTROC AND JACQUES LANZMANM IN 1966

  • @polodemarseille

For what I know the rhythm and the riff of this song are quite similar to "La fille du père Noël" by Dutronc that, in turn, is similar to a song by the Yardbirds. As for I know, Lanzmann collaborated with Dutronc, but it not seems to me in his aforementioned song. Anyway, thanks for your information.

  • @polodemarseille it's riff but he has had to add lyrics and a melody there is only so many riff on the planet. Ironically sweet tried to say he copied them lol

  • @polodemarseille: Prove it.

  • Talkin' bout MONROÉÉÉÉÉÉÉÉ!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Fantastic............ he is great...........

  • he should come to Craig Ferguson an play harmonica with him..;-)

  • I don't understand. If I would have been at this concert and up front, I would have been on my feet dancing (and probably tring to attract his attention). !! How could they just sit in there seets? I don't get it. Not downing the audience, David Bowie has the best fans out there, I just don't get it.

  • Killing Snowwhite, and New York's a no-go!

  • The strength of this man's voice; his personality and, talent are so unforgettable. His music is on my mind quite often!! Thanks for sharing!

  • Haha! Isn't he terrific?!! Not a question! He's just amazing and I love him.

  • A great version ands a great upload

  • I used to sell music and am highly discriminating about live performances. I searched YouTube for this song. This is the best version out there! The ones with many views are a major disappointment. Thanks!

  • @houseof4doorsmc

Oh, thank you! I welcome it as a great compliment, since you are an expert.

And I guess also of selective tastes (that what... is shareable by me).

Yes, it's a rich version of the song, full of brilliant energy.

    Bowie, complete Musician.

  • This classic Bowie song has so much atmosphere and significance... it encapsulates so much, fantastic performance, thanks so much dearest Fiorella..

  • @racyweb

"... He's outrageous, he screams and he bawls " ... the small Jean Genie, ha ha, pretty rebellious.

    I'm thanking you, dearest !

  • Fiorella ... Thanks so much .... This is GREAT !! Thanks so much for sharing it !!

  • @JJackAL52

Many thanks for your time to watch, so much kindly.

This track, actually, is not included in the official DVD of "A Reality Tour", anyway is part of the last Bowie's great Tour.

  • Such a beautiful, lively wonderful song, just makes my heart dance. Only David Bowie can take the troubles and worries of the day and make them fade away into a feeling of happiness. Thank you so much for this brilliant jewel, Fiorella, you made my day much brighter.

  • @Scoobydoonut

Thank you so much for exquisite attention.

You said so well what is profoundly true. Bowie/Man is an exceptionally erudite and cultured person, besides very intelligent: with lovely irony, he managed to blend the positive and the negative into a musical alchemy that everyone can understand in the immediacy of own same joy.

This is for me one of the highest meanings of Music,

    the universal communication.

  • This is fantastic!!!!!!! Oh! I love it when Bowie stuff finds its way to the right hands, those of Bowie's best fans!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you Fiorella, this is fantastic!

  • @redsails2008

Thanks a lot of the nice compliment, sincere and very welcome.

Aladdin Sane has marked in 1973 my incredible encounter with the Music of this Genius and "The Jean Genie", like many of Bowie's songs, had the power to multiply my gaiety !
