your hair looks good, I just want to mention shampoos don't wash out "nutrients" from your hair, but the sulfates in shampoos do strip the oils from your hair, you should wash your hair more often especially if your using tons of gel. One thing I experienced from cowashing is the scalp don't get as clean.

@ Synspecialful I think you should get a bottle of "Wild Hair Growth", that is a really good bottle of hair growth, it smells good and it makes your hair soft as well as giving it growth! Also get a tub of "Ampro Pro Styl Gel", very good gel for black hair, it makes the hair soft and it gives it shine!
I went out and bought the Eco Styler gel and I really don't like it, it made my hair real flaky & white, so I went back to my Black Ampro Pro Styl Gel, too me that is the best gel for African-American Hair, it doesn't make your hair flaky at all... You get shine, no flakes, and it makes your hair softer... I'm ready to give the Eco Styler Gel away to someone!

Hi Kerri; my hair takes so long to grow. I co wash at least 3-4 times a week and it is still dry, dry , dry and short. It looks hard and brittle and it will not grow. I have tried using a mosterizer such as Miss JESSIE'S buttercream and it when I apply water an Eco styling gel I have a head full of white products that takes a very long time to saturate into the hair. I still am unhappy with the nature look on me. Nonetheless, everybody else looks great.
@synspecialful ur hair is so brittle or dry it cud be becuz u are washing ur hair too often thus washing out all the natural oils ur hair produce hence leaving it dry. wat i suggest is that u reduce ur washes to 1-2 times a week and in between washes use a very good moisturiser an seal the moisture in ur hair with coconut or olive oil. also do a preepoo oil treatment. hot oil treatments are good or u can put oil in for an hr b4 co washing also deep condition once a week too. hope that helps

The majority is also very superficial (not saying that there's anything wrong with wigs because I wear them too sometimes and I love my natural hair); most see European beauty as the only standard and that is just not correct. Don't be like the majority just for the sake of doing what everyone else is doing. Many are doing the "big chop" because it's healthier and easier to manage when all the permed hair is cut off at once as opposed to cutting the permed ends off slowly but still keeping permed hair. Where the permed hair and natural hair meet, there will be friction and therefore more fragile hair until all the perm is out. You can do the big chop and keep it short or grow it out but it will be short at first.

Thank you for posting this video. I recently did the big chop and found out that my hair was damaged due to a undiagnosed medical condition so my edges were horrible. I felt like I had no choice but to wear a wig. Then I came across your video and thought I could do that and the gel would help mask the thinness of my edges. i think i bought the wrong ecostyler gel, i bought the clear one and my hair has the white residue on it. does this still happen if you have the olive oil ecostyler gel?
looove the curls!! one suggestion from one natural to another...Shampoo is not the enemy. You're probably doing a lot of wash and go's so you don't need shampoo as often as someone who only washes their hair once a week. But as you're hair gets longer, you're probably not going to do as many wash and go's so regular shampoo's will be essential to strip the hair of the gunk that our hair acquires. This is just something I wish someone would of told me earlier. Happy hair growing :)

@shamia3121 OMG! i definitely had the same problem too when I tried this. However, I did realize that when you literally mix the gel with oil, the white residue is gone. I put the gel on the back of my hand then add some cocnut oil nd mix, then apply. Hope that helps :D

Great idea using olive oil w/the Eco styler olive oil formula. If you read the ingredients, the olive oil is at the very end which means there's not very much in the product. .smh At any rate, great technique!!

Your hair looks great! I have had my BC for a week now and nothing defines my curls! I have tried wetting my hair and using the leave in conditioner by Cantu, Jaijoba Oil, Eco Styler gel (and I tried IC gel) and nothing makes my hair curly. Don't know what else to do with my TWA.

hi. help. i am trying the natural look but i look horrible. i triedthe cuely pudding and eco styler gel. the gel does not hold my hair, it fuzz up on release. the pudding makes my hair look like i pulled it out and did not comb my hair for 4 days. help. what do i do.

is eco gel good my sisters bf uses it and his hair is cool.. he said its cheap and it works good?? does it work good i want more yesses lool i am using short sexy hair the gel and its good but 16 bucks probly every month umm hel no!! so is tht gell good im guna try it anyway lol. is it only for long hair or will it work to form like a foaxhawk??

I did my bc on my bday, yesterday actually, and loving every minute. I can't keep my hands out of it. I have the ecostyler olive oil gel also, had got it when I was transitioning, but didn't like it. But I used it today and it defined my curls great, was a little crunchy. What is your hair type?

ive tried the eco styler but my hair doesnt dry properly andcomes out with white parts.
i dunno why.i was really looking forward to using it andhoping tha it would work.can u recommend anything that mayb i may be doing wrong?

Maybe the gel and the leave-in conditioner that you are using does not work well together. Try another leave-in conditioner. That might help.

@Sanyeezy i kniw huh! lol i stopped using it because of that and kept doing twist outs.that really works on my hair.i still do twist outs but that eco styler never worked on my hair.even the brown one.the only thing that worked a little but still had wet and sticky hair was the loreal styling spray. i just stick to leave in with the new naked shea butter and argan oil and flat twist or just single twists lol.

i think i bought the wrong ecostyler gel, i bought the clear one and my hair has the white residue on it. does this still happen if you have the olive oil ecostyler gel?

looove the curls!! one suggestion from one natural to another...Shampoo is not the enemy. You're probably doing a lot of wash and go's so you don't need shampoo as often as someone who only washes their hair once a week. But as you're hair gets longer, you're probably not going to do as many wash and go's so regular shampoo's will be essential to strip the hair of the gunk that our hair acquires. This is just something I wish someone would of told me earlier. Happy hair growing :)

i tried this method yesterday morning but realized the ecostyler looks white on top of my head after my leave in and olive oil. idk wats up w that maybe its all about application or the gel is jus not for me sux cus i really liked it :-( . Did u ever hav the isuue with the wite remains?

@shamia3121 OMG! i definitely had the same problem too when I tried this. However, I did realize that when you literally mix the gel with oil, the white residue is gone. I put the gel on the back of my hand then add some cocnut oil nd mix, then apply. Hope that helps :D

I think i have found my hair twin ;) Your hair is beautiful! But i was just wondering...i have 4a hair and its cottony in some sections to where i feel that my curls dont get as defined..do you have any other curl defining methods that you would suggest? Thanks, and stay lovely!

Great idea using olive oil w/the Eco styler olive oil formula. If you read the ingredients, the olive oil is at the very end which means there's not very much in the product. .smh At any rate, great technique!!

Your hair looks great! I have had my BC for a week now and nothing defines my curls! I have tried wetting my hair and using the leave in conditioner by Cantu, Jaijoba Oil, Eco Styler gel (and I tried IC gel) and nothing makes my hair curly. Don't know what else to do with my TWA.
