As a pro with 15 years experience in the field I have been through several different splice schools where I have physically proven through pull test on multiple demonstration splices that I can achieve as high or higher adhesion rates. This can be done on any belt new or used high heat or grade two belting. I have taught many people to step splice, finger splice cold bond and yes even install lacing. I have spliced every thing from ammeral belting to heavy weight underground PVC and everything
what! if you cant make a splice that has higher adhesion rates then factory then there has to be something wrong.even if you are on site you can control the factors that make a perfect splice
@wmcgough1 easier said than done. how much experience do you even have in this field? What theory tells you that a spliced area of the belt has better strength than the original belt itself?
You are right. If you do a step splice with the right pressure Vulcanizing Press (10 bar surface pressure) and under best conditions the strength will be up to 70% of the nominal belt strength. Nevertheless Super-Screw is better: all tests done by some mining autorities show 20% more strength. Only a finger splice is better. But Super-Screw is not dedicated for new belts but mainly for old belts or for special application where a hot splice is very difficult to make.

use ya head a step splice when done properly will only be 70% as strong as the parent belt
