  • From Reble Queen to Songs of Praise! how funny.

  • Unpluged, c'est cadeau.

    Merci Toya

  • The girl have it. and she's still looking naughty and good :-)))

  • Olivia Newton John? lol jk

  • Still a great song but the rock version is something else.

  • Can this version be downloaded anywhere??? Its great!

  • @campgalore:: Toyah The Acoustic Album

  • Pretty odd to hear Toyah so sweet.

    - But I liked it a lot.

Must agree, she look's damm good =0)

    Finn5Fejl

  • P.S~~loved 80s version as it was my frame of mind..at time...(hectic!)

loved this version..as more mellow..~(more me now)

Toyah brave to have done this~and she did it well..and I think its a great interpretation..

any folk that gets stuck in history~~get over it..~

think the lyrics says it all

    !!!!

  • I loved the 80s version...but love this too..The words are what are paramount..

This is just a different perspective..Toyah is quite spirtiual & it wouldnt work now her doing a "punk " version in her late 40s/early 50s! Its a great tune..with great words..it was fab in the 80s..( in my teens)..

    and Beautiful now..(in my 40s!)..

Why do people get stuck in past and not move on..

    life is a journey

and this is where Toyah is..in her life..

I think its a great song regardless of format..

  • @lillydot68 Are you serious! Look for the version she does live in Shrewsbury 2008, superb.

  • Much as I think the original is the best, this is very good.

  • Like Zingo33 said.. this was made for Songs Of Praise..x

  • What WAS she thinking?????? I have fond memories of Toyah... from the eighties and into the nineties but THIS??? This is just NAFF!!!!

    What happened, Toyah??? WHY???????

  • This is not my version. My version is the punk one where she got crazy big hair and crazy clothes and sings wildly.

Did she make this version to make fun of Songs of Praise which I suppose is christian TV show on BBC?

  • interesting... and good... but ..... hmmm...

it was the punky vocals that made the song sound so good in the 1st place. dont hate me for saying it I love Toyah too!!!

  • I agree - not the song for this kind of treatment. She looks damn good though...........i wish

  • Toyah's voice is fine - a quality not always apparent in her more punchy stuff

  • Broadcast on the BBC 1 programme -'Songs of Praise' on the 29th May 2002. Great version of a timeless classic !

  • kev clark gateshead tyne wear this was the first time i had herd this song sung in acopella made my hair on my neck stand up mint i love her the first time round awsome

  • The best! I'm now 43 years old and still love Toyah!

  • I'm 43 yrs old too..and still in love with her..!!

  • @stepherron top man u and me both fella top girl seen her live a good few times when i was a wanna be lol makes me feel old but the tracks back then meant something , unlike a lot today (no not all before people moan but a good few )

  • wtf!

I keep expecting her to bust out on a horse wearing latex with big hair, but no this song wasnt a joke

its a mystery why she did this version

  • She CAN sing though.

  • Thought I might have been a tad harsh the first time. But after listening to the song again, I was definitely spot on.

Total Crap !!!! Toyah has ruined what was once a masterpiece. It's a shame it all went downhill after 'Anthem'.

  • awesome!! she rules!

  • Never forget u Toyah loved u in the 80s love you now

  • Terrible !!

This version has lost all it's power.

I do miss the Toyah of the eighties.

  • Fabulous Toyah - as always!!

  • Leave her alone, arsehole !

  • Brilliant fantastic wonderful.

    I just love her xxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • lovely version but one minute a green dress, the next a red coat???? it's a mystery.

  • ITSSS A MYSSSTERY? LOVE U TOYAH

  • wot a fantastic version keep playing it over and over love it

  • awesome!

    where this video from?

  • brilliant..

I'd love to hear accoustic versions of 'danced' 'ieya' 'victims of the riddle' and her other early work..

    are they out there?

  • yes mate, you need to buy toyah, the acoustic album

  • Yes it called the acoustic album, ebay is probably your best bet, im not sure if you can still get it from amazon, its a cool album

  • What a great performer........endless talent

  • Hah@the negative comments. How could anyone not appreciate the beauty of this song/version. Some people have some very odd perceptions...

  • Beautiful version of a great song.

  • I did'nt like this song in its original version, but love this version.

  • I love this song, it's strange but i work with a lady that looks just like her, it kind of makes my working day more, you know, i can handle this crap day in the office. she's wonderful, i so want to tell her how i feel...

  • then do

  • What happened to "ASHOT IN THE DARRKKKK"?

  • Love this version and the original....keep oing Toyah!

  • Its beautiful, if you cant see that, you are dead alredy.

  • Yes it is Mrs F, but you left the a out.

  • Sorry but this version lacks that certain 'something' - the punkyiness of the original.

  • will someone please stop strangling that cat so i can hear the piano, please. Sort your lisp out darling

  • A nice person I think and thank goodness for the occasional eccentric.

  • i love the way that everyone thinks that this is some kind of tame version. this is the most nuts thing she ever did. IT WAS ON SONGS OF PRAISE. the idea that she would be on that singing this song is so bizarre,

  • a nice version of this song but when she gets to singing the chorus her red jacket dissapears, the re-appears at the end of the song, is Toyah now a part-time magician

  • "Thank You Martin"

It's a beautiful version of this song, it has a lot of meaning, Wow! it blows your mind, so good, can't help, but play it all the time, "Thanks again" mmm

  • Crying out for Phil Spalding to come in and wake everyone up. Make a good basis for someone wich a music program to rework it with some balls. I always loved the fact that this song was quite gentle but had a lot of power, especially on the Warrior Rock album.

  • without youtube i wouldn't have a chance to see this video (i'm from Germany), what a great version of Toyahs Song, really brilliant.

  • lay back, relax, listen & enjoy. necronomicon2000, which year was this one taken?

  • songs of praise bbc may 2002

  • Still a hint of madness there. She's amazing.

  • Well it's just totally MAD that she's SINGING THIS SONG ON A XTIAN SHOW! HAHAHAHA She was SO not Xtian until very lately...heh.

  • Love this version of this song!

  • I really really like this. If she released this version it would race up the charts.

  • WOW bliss

  • it's not the same without all the madness, still goood tho:)

  • I am a total loss for words!
