  • Would love to see Chantal Jegues-Wolkiewiez connect with D.M. Murdock / Acharya S

  • Nice to know that even ancient people were smart and creative enough to be able to create majestic works of art that are still around today. I think that modern man forgets that ancent man was really smart and could understand alot of the math that it took to create that cave painting.

  • I think in order to understand how the ancients were smart enough to do this we have to try to understand how they lived. They spent most of their time outside with nothing much to look at but the stars. There were no artificial lights so just imagine how beautiful it must have been to them. They were literally surrounded by them. They must have wondered why the night sky looked one way when it was cold and another when it was hot.

  • I don't think that NatGeo is trying to imply that the Zodiac signs are a significant way to determine future events; I think it's trying to point out that through the ages, man has always looked to the heavens for artistic inspiration.

  • omg am i seriously the only one who thinks this is pretty cool????

  • I think it's incredible.

  • irrespective of 'belief' the zodiac has huge and I mean HUGE cultural significance from babylon to all of the abrahamic religions including the egyptians and even the hindus use and have modeled culture around the zodiac. So even if you're an atheist there is reason for it's study and interpretation. FOOL

  • EXACTLY!!! Man projected his own unconscious onto the heavens!!

  • The Abrahamic religions are Judaism, Christianity, and Islam neither believe in it.

  • so what?

  • I'm sorry, did that rub you the wrong way? You poor thing. Anyway...

it was a reply to a comment made earlier by explosivedoubt. He implied that the Abrahamic religions believed in astrology.

I'm sure that a God loving person such as yourself would disagree.

  • I can't understand how people still reading and believing this shit (horoscopes).

  • @globalarte ew i know horoscopes are BS.....the zodiac is something totally different.........................

  • HAHA I KNOW ... but why do you think the constellations were always important...

because ignorant people often think that the stars have some influence on their lives/future as you know...

  • @globalarte haha well sadly i am one of those ignorant people, in a way, and well aside from that... i think the consellations are important because it wouldve helped primimitive beings (and pple today) find their way around... (just one example, north star etcetc) ....however, the constellations were mainly made for astrology by the ancients.....idk if wat we are seeing in this vid. is a primitivve zodiac by "cave pple" and if in fact they werte that smart in think of this by themselves...

  • Yeah this is pretty cool...interesting too. I love Astronomy.

Still astrology was and is Bull Crap.

  • :) Okay

  • pretty damn interesting!

  • I believe she is so desperate to get attention from public view to bs fantasy fiction. She is probably hallucinating. One time , I saw a big penis in sky. go figure.

  • Your comment makes you out to be a total fool. It is unwelcome and unwanted.

  • You just CAN'T be that stupid... seriously??

  • When you put something this stupid on a public site that I watch, it IS my business, and next time have the balls to post your comment where others can see what you have to say about MY public posts.

  • agreed, thank you NatGeo for this excellent programming. Tired of the useless reality show on tv

  • fascinating

  • impressive stuff, im more and more surprised of our ancient culture

  • I'm so happy there's a National Geographic.

  • those fromunda cheese babylonians

  • Sure, stoneage people were pretty smart. Why Cain himself built a city! (Genesis 4:17)

  • Neat

  • am i the only one who thinks that this is pretty cool?! 0.o

  • BIG BORING

  • lol i know.

  • lol @

    Lost4ubabe

  • Where do you get the idea that cavemen were stupid? The people who painted those walls were Homo Sapiens, just like you and me! They didn't have our advanced technology, but they were just as smart as modern humans. Put Einstein in a cave 20,000 years ago and he'd have made aerodynamically advanced spears and flaked perfect points for them. Just like they did

  • @Lost4ubabe Because it's deep inside a cave. I guarantee you that no one ever hunted buffalo inside a cave.

  • There's no point in putting a sign someplace where you'd have to crawl through a half mile of caves to see it.

Your second suggestion is what many anthropologists have always presumed. That this particular cave represents the Zodiac is a new idea.

  • You started out with a decent comment but your execution was a complete failure.

  • yea cave men were very smart smarter than animals at leasat comp to us very dumb but very smart in there time

  • cavemen smart enough to make paint that can last thousands of years on the inside of a cave.

  • haha good point

  • so easy a caveman can do it!!

  • lmao

  • Wow! That's incredible!

  • I guess its less an inspired image and more of a memorizing tool to remember stars.

  • @dravarian26 Imagine moar.

  • mudkips, you liek?

  • but of course!!
