  • Keep reef save to more visitors come to philippines

  • I hope they aren't referring to the fish/coral industry..

  • FUCK ALL CHINESE SMUGGLERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @THEVIGILANTPUNISHER pathetic sour grape. nakakahiya ka, parang wala kang pinag-aralan. go get an education in ethical values.

  • ITS BECAUSE THE PHILIPPINES IS OWNED BY CHINA. OUR ECONOMY IS OWNED BY CHINESE AND OUR FAGGOT PRESIDENT IS CHINESE

  • lovely

  • Lorenzo Tan, of WWF PHL. Funny you talk about these matters when our group approached WWF PHL and informed you of this problem and you dismissed us. Now that its gotten media traction, your people are trying to ingratiate themselves to media for what? MONEY. One of your banks support mining in Mindanao. WWF PHL is losing credibility by the second seriously.

  • Way to go Thelma Lim of DENR, you brushed us aside when we reported these activities to your office.

The main markets of these corals are CHINA, US, CANADA, UK, and even ARGENTINA.

  • who are these exploiters? CHINESE..

  • The most corrupt, incompetent, depraved and dysfunctional society on earth.

  • @moonrunrs Your comments smacks of racism. The markets of these corals are equally to blame- US, CANADA, CHINA, UK, ARGENTINA. Your comment just exposes your ignorance on a rather complex issue. Way to go smartass.

  • read up on poachers/ illegal fishing international waters shark tail trade organized crime greenpeace china and the 3 gorges river/ hydroelectric dam they built this is like meta tags for environmental bullshit that takes place every single time you don't look whether you want to or not it any sign of poaching always leaves the possibility for that species to become extinct you kill something it may never come back think about it

  • Most people are impoverished and, with government corruption, there is not much the average person can do to better themselves. A lot of it is just about survival.

Beautiful country and overall nice and friendly people. Without foreign investment and foreign land ownership, it will remain a third world country. The government sells the mining rights to foreign countries and doesn't have regard for their environment.

    A real shame.

  • Flash! Bachmann Post Cavity Search Site runs aground in Phillippine! "It didn't actually make land fall because of the extnsive coral reefs circle'n the islands. If it comes over the coral, states spokesman ,"Our ass is grass, & there's no doubt in anyone's mind who is gonna be the lawnmower"! The Bachmann site has been under tow for the past two weeks, to a new home somewhere far from New Hampshire". Spokesman further relates, "The coral? Naw, it's been shit for decades. Don't worry abo

  • BEAUTIFUL ISLAND, yet the people are so colonized, they forget their ancestral roots, which lived equal to the lands!!

    HUMANITY IS MORALLY WEAK!!!!

  • I visited Boracay 25 years ago and most of the coral was dead. Big surprise on the very sad update.

  • This is the type of environmental news that gets buried because people are being distracted with global warming nonsense.

  • @dirtyboy830

So you think we humans since the dawn of the industrial revolution has made little or no impact on the climate??

This is all a conspiracy by evil scientist who have worked years on their careers and loads of money on their education!

  • @dirtyboy830 it's called climate change...warming is such a misnomer. And when 98% + of scientists agree that it is happening, I think it hardly qualifies as being nonsense except for the hopelessly uninformed or those with a financial stake in the status quo.

  • @FlatulenceFox Sorry, but co2 does not cause heat. No matter how you spin it.

  • @dirtyboy830 this is not a political marketing campaign for the energy lobby and the terminal stupid. Scientific fact is the closet thing human beings have to the truth - not conventional wisdom, not poll numbers, and definitely not religion. If 98% + percent of qualified scientists agree that climate change is fact, then no amount of Googing quacks, hacks, right-wing talk show hosts or necon pseudointellectuals should sway a rational, educated person. But I know your neither of those.

  • @FlatulenceFox 98% of scientists think that co2 causes heat? Please explain.

  • @dirtyboy830 No, 98% of scientists understand that co2 absorbs energy in the infra red and thus slows the dispersion of heat to space by radiation (the primary means by which the planet disperses heat). They also understand that our emissions have increased the co2 in the atmosphere. They thus understand that the combination of these effects leads to warming. It's not rocket science.

  • @Maxdwolf Ummm.. Ok, so like way back before humans existed, like, there were times that, like co2 was way more prevalent in, like, the atmosphere, 'n stuff, k? You with me so far? Right, so like, if, like it didn't cause the world to go like all ka-bloo-wee back then it's not going to do anything now. K? So, like, yea!

  • @dirtyboy830 There were also mass extinctions back then. Surviving species suffered large population drops.

  • @Maxdwolf There have been many times in Earths history where there was more co2 than now. There have also been many mass extinctions in Earths history. To attribute them all to co2 is just stupid.

  • @dirtyboy830 Never blamed all mass extinctions on co2. When climate changes, some species adapt and some don't. Not all extinctions are due to climate change, but all significant climate change has resulted in extinctions. We developed our society around the present climate and changing it as rapidly as we are will result in great hardship for many.

  • @Max CO2 does not cause heat. Period. No matter what you say, co2 remains an inert gas necessary for human and animal survival. Without it, life on Earth would cease to exist.

The only reason anyone is in hysterics over this nonsense is because of Al Gore. Without his ridiculously obvious farse "The Inconvienient Truth" none of you would be all up and arms about this. Watch his movie again with a critical eye. It is nothing but fear mongering propaganda, if not outright fiction.

  • @dirtyboy830 Read my comment at the start you imbecile. Nobody is saying CO2 causes heat. CO2 absorbs infra red radiation, causing a blanketing effect. Noone is proposing we eliminate all CO2 from the atmosphere either.

I've never seen Al Gore's damn movie. I've read what real scientists have been saying about the matter. This is something we have over a century of research on.

Stop listening to sound bites and do some real research on the matter. Heck, even Wikipedia would be an improvement.

  • @Maxdwolf I have read what "real" scientists have said. NASA did this imaging with satellites and came up with the most accurate temperature data we have. The initial release of the interpretation of the data demonstrated a lowering of temperature over Antarctica since the 70s. They submitted this data to the IPCC who, lol, told them it wasn't correct and told them to re-interpret the data to show warming. They did so.

You really need to watch Al Gores movie AGAIN with a skeptical eye.

  • @dirtyboy830 Yeah right. You got this story from scientists and not anti-agw activists? Given your apparent ignorance of what scientists say about global warming that alone makes it unlikely. That no other reliable sources mention this makes it even more likely you are lying. Cite your source or stfu.

Pay attention you moron. I NEVER WATCHED AL GORE'S DAMN MOVIE! I looked into the actual research.

  • @Maxdwolf It's on nasas website. Just search the web. You do know what google is, don't you?

OK, maybe you never watched Al Gore's movie, I really doubt that, but you repeat EXACTLY what he says, verbatim.

The fact remains that these climate scientists have based their conclusions off of computer models. Computer models cannot predict these sort of things. They can barely predict what the weather is going to be like 5 minutes from now, much less predict the climate of an entire ecosystem.

  • @dirtyboy830 Actually, the models have been tested, repeatedly. They have predictive power. You clearly don't know the difference between weather and climate. Just because you can't predict the size of the next wave to come in doesn't mean you can't tell the tide's coming in.

My statements are clearly not what Al Gore would say VERBATIM. That wouldn't parse. You are lying.

I've seen nothing like that an any of NASA's sites. Send me the link via pm or admit you are lying.

  • @dirtyboy830 I guarantee you can't find two full, contiguous sentences in his movie that match two full contiguous sentences of my own in this comment thread.

Thank you for the links, but there is nothing in there about the IPCC giving directions to NASA. NASA just extended the timeline and revised the analysis with better interior calibration. That's how science works. If it's a cover up, why is the first one still there?

  • @Maxdwolf The reference to the IPCC was subsequently removed. I know you're not going to believe me, but the fact remains that using the same exact data they came to two different conclusions. The first that Antarctica is cooling. The second that Antarctica is warming. Which one is right? I can't say for certain, but I'm sure many with a political agenda will pretend that the one that backs their assertion is the true interpretation of the data.

  • @dirtyboy830 Of course I wouldn't believe you. You've gotten so much wrong so far. It's not the same exact data. In the first case the data of how the sensors tended to skew the readings was missing. In any case, even if we throw that out, the case is still made by thousands of other studies for the case of anthropogenic global warming.

  • @dirtyboy830 You continue to make the claim that "co2 does not cause heat". Nobody claimed it did. I didn't. None of the other commentators wrote that. I've seen no videos with that claim and no scientists that claim. If you don't even understand the basic claim, where do you get off questioning it?

You still need to learn the difference between climate and weather. v=_PWDFzWt-Ag

  • @Maxdwolf You claim it causes heat. The idea is something along the lines that co2 traps the heat in the atmosphere using its tentacles of death or some such nonsense. Therefor causing heat. I can't believe I have to explain your own argument.

  • @dirtyboy830 No, you don't understand. CO2 does not cause heat. CO2 absorbs infra red radiation (this is an observed fact and not subject to debate). When this excited molecule releases this energy again in the form of infra-red radiation, sometimes it is directed back towards the earth. This creates a longer average path for the energy to escape and more excited molecules in its wake. Excited molecules = higher temperature. The greenhouse effect is an observed fact.

  • @Maxdwolf In other words, co2 is causing heat. Now stfu.

  • @dirtyboy830 CO2 is a known greenhouse gas you absolute fucking moron. That you can't accept this simple, well known fact shows you have no idea what is going on.

  • @Maxdwolf I'm sorry, but you're just buying into a panic.

  • @dirtyboy830 When faced with the scientific evidence, that's all you've got.

  • @Maxdwolf There's scientific evidence for all sorts of nonsense. There is scientific evidence Wacko Jacko wasn't a pedophile. There's scientific evidence that OJ Simpson didn't murder Nicole Simpson. And the list goes on and on.

  • @dirtyboy830 No, there is no such scientific evidence. Also the truth of a matter is dealt with by the preponderance of the evidence, not by any small piece. Otherwise, there's be no way of getting to the truth of any matter.

  • @Maxdwolf Yes, there is only scientific evidence when it supports what you say. That's a good one.

  • @dirtyboy830 No, not what I said. Try again. There is 150 years worth of research on this topic and the vast preponderance supports the theory. If there is evidence to the contrary you have failed to provide it. You have spouted a nonsense strawman argument about co2 not causing heat and then made a claim about one particularly set of satellite data that you have failed to back up.

  • @Maxdwolf I can't believe how full of shit you are. 150 years of research? Right.

I don't have to prove anything because there is nothing to prove.

I never "spouted" a strawman. You claim that it causes heat. I don't.

I post NASA articles, but they still aren't enough for you. There is no way to reason with someone who has completely divested their emotions from everything but fear. Again, you are buying into a panic.

  • @dirtyboy830 Fourier in 1824, Tyndall in 1859, Arhennius in 1896. Dumbass

You claim that experts in the field are wrong, the onus is on you to prove it. You posted an article one article that didn't prove your point. Not impressed.

I do not claim that CO2 causes heat. I say it is a greenhouse gas. That is an established fact. Even the few climate scientists who remain skeptical over all don't deny that. It helps trap heat. You have had this explained to you multiple times. Moron.

  • @Maxdwolf OK, so these people, Fourier et al, had psychic powers? No, seriously. That's before the industrial revolution. How could they possibly observe something that hasn't even occurred yet? I can't believe how dumb you are. I'm really getting a good laugh at all this nonsense.

So, you say that co2 does not cause heat? Then you are admitting that I am right and that you were just buying into a panic and there's no reason to go back to living in the stone ages.

  • @dirtyboy830 no, he's/she's saying that co2 doesn's cause heat. they are saying that it traps heat being re-radiated from the earth, and that is what we have to be worried about.

  • @dirtyboy830 Two corrections I will make on my part. 1.) it was a poll of earth and climate scientists (the most qualified people to make the judgement) 2.) the actual number was 97.4%.

The poll was conducted in the EOS Journal, an academic journal published by the American Geophysical Union. The polls name: "Examining Scientific Consensus on Climate Change."

One of the questions was “Do you think human activity is a significant contributing factor in changing mean global temperatures?”

  • @FlatulenceFox I'm still wondering why anyone would believe that co2 causes heat? Carbon Dioxide is an inert gas that is necessary for human survival.

  • @dirtyboy830 are you a scientist?

  • @dirtyboy830 Also, the warming and acidification of the oceans (thanks to co2 emissions) is one of the major killers of coral reefs.

  • If we just remove the people to usa, China, Middle East etc. then make the place a world park; then nature can repair itself.

  • fuck the philippines everything there is for sale!! even your freeedom is for sale!!

  • The Philippines' coral reefs are fast going extinct while President Aquino fiddles, er, . . . races around in his Porsche on out-of-town roads in the wee hours of the morning.

  • Wow. Greed.

  • @devonriley415 you ever taken a rubberband or pen from work ? thats greed too.. people doing this are just trying to feed their kids so blame money and government befor people.

  • @imatelly I suppose I'm pretty far away so judgement isn't mine to give, but it seems that if they need food they could just as easily take fish from the sea, but fish sell for less money don't they?
