You did it wrong, your not supposed to fail, hahahahahah, but seriously your supposed to do it with a group of at least 10 people so that no one gets mad at you.... or calls security, trust me, I know. The last thing you want is to be detained for "disturbing the peace" hahahahaha. The guy at the gas station was cool, and the manager can suck a choad.
A most intriguing violation of social hygiene would be to walk into any bus, bend over, and blow a massive fart. Then walk out, or walk up to anyone and ask for the incorrect time. That will keep them on their toes, believe me.
I did the cheering thing. It was unbelievable how people reacted so differently then how I thought.they played along half the time.I also did the give me a random high five. that was awesomer.
This was not supposed to hit 10,000 views, this is ridiculous. It was fun doing that, but incredibly embarrassing, in fact i can't even watch this the whole way though.
I wonder if the camera was a confound to the study. Participants might have reacted differently without it. Filming people's daily activities breaks the social norm on its own. And, of course, you run into the problem of informed consent vs. natural reactions... Cool project though!
I think you guys got the result spot on. By giving no clues that what you were doing was supposed to be fun, and the addition of filming up close, made the whole thing feel weird - you really broke social norms and made everyone very uncomfortable (including yourselves).
I'm glad you guys said at the end of the video that it didn't really work, because it didn't. The whole looking at the camera about 10 times in the midst of things really downs it. Better luck next time.
How pathetic. I've seen better and I think you watched the video of my friend and my youth minister, they are way better at it and they pretty much are always funny 24/7
me and my friends did this but we went into ralphs with signs and posters and ribbon and all that shit and painted faces and cheered for the cashier lady...then we got kicked out
they think they are being laugh at by someone who don't respect small worker your really dumb filming that that way, but still very funny

You probably should've gotten a group of people with you to cheer, instead of just having you there. Good try though! :3
