The arm simply went into the rope as Sombra landed. Not the cleanest he's done, but unfortunately, I was pretty strapped for a clip, and I had a few requests for it.
Personally, I like lucha. While I enjoy strong style as well, I find the art of wrestling to be the ability to perform in a manner that is both safe and entertaining, with preference to being realistic. If I wanted to watch brutalness, I'd watch MMA (and I do).
@MrsHero I'd have to say my preferences lean more towards a stiffer style, or at least stiffer looking. For me, lucha does take a little bit more suspension of disbelief than other styles of wrestling, but then again my favorite promotion when it comes to quality of wrestling is Dragon Gate, which certainly takes influences from lucha libre. I DO agree that wrestling is at it's best when it looks good AND is safe.
Not enjoying these lucha videos. I have never seen worse wrestling. They work lighter than two 7 year olds play fighting. And my god their frankensteiners are so bad. They sit on the guy's shoulders and spin around. Zero impact.
@ZehFiend Thats your opinion or better you delete the comment you made because if you got nothing good to say about Lucha Libre, keep it to your damn self. No one wants to hear it cause we enjoy Lucha Libre and Jericho wrestled in Mexico at one time. Jericho respects Wrestling as we respect him.
@808TROY You're the kind of person that gives wrestling fans a bad name. "I like this kind of wrestling so shut your fucking mouth about it with your negative opinions." I don't like lucha, I think they work too light. I think it looks ridiculous, and that's none of your concern. Jericho is the one who said it took him years to abandon all he learned in Mexico because their style is so different and light. Read his book, you know how he describes lucha? Fake. And he's right. They hardly touch.
@ZehFiend Just don't say something about technique please. I agree, in recent years luchadores have lost their impact, but the technique remains. For instance, I don't like that much the high flyers, I rather see a good set of submission. And as far as stiff, go check clips of late wrestlers; can't compare to puroresu, but they DO hit
@rogelixo Not going to deny that the Luchadores don't have talent, I mean I'd love to see some of these guys go on Ninja Warrior on G4, or try out Parkour. But my main issue with most Lucha Libre matches that they will pull off an aerial spot worthy of the Barnum Bailey's circus and the opponent will get up and run the ropes for another spot. The other issue I have is at times you can tell what move is coming before they do it and others,Stevie Wonder could tell it didn't hit.
@ZehFiend I am a Wrestling fan that appreciates all styles of Wrestling no matter what it is. You can say what you want to say about Lucha Libre, go right ahead. But never say I give Wrestling fans a bad name because I don't give a shit what people think about me.
I read Jericho's book and you're putting words in his mouth. He said when he immediately started wrestling in Mexico, he noticed how light they work but he also started in the smaller circuits. He went out of his way to defend lucha libre from the critics who say it's not "real wrestling" by stating that some of the top guys he wrestled against at cmll were among the best in the world. he also mentioned he learned a lot of the basics of wrestling from negro casas.
It's true that luchadores generally work lighter, but Jericho was describing his intro to lucha libre which came in the smaller circuits & was obviously of a lower quality than what is found at the top level. he had nothing but praise for the top luchadores & actually defended them from criticism such as yours. i should also note that jericho wrestled for cmll at a time when most of the top young talent were working for AAA (Rey, Octagon, Juvi, Psicosis, Parka, Eddie, Barr, Santo etc)
one of the finest luchadores right now

La sombra the best one to do it

I Just find it funny that a luchador, working a light style, can still hit starship harder and with more accuracy than John Morrison.
Morrison can't hit a solid starship to save his life, maybe ever once in a while, but his hit-miss ratio is embarrassing IMO.
At least it looks pretty going down...

Maybe Jo-Mo should trying doing it this way, it seems to add more impact than the current way he does it.
